Wizards playing at medicine

Even the uninquisitive will notice the chaotic movements of two mages across Shadowdale. Both adorned in heavy and dark robes, one in particular seems to be wearing an eccentric mask of thick leather shaped like a bird, his shifting eyes behind thick glass being the only sign there was truly a man behind his garb, the other remained unmasked, his pensive expression obvious to all. They wandered between stores and temple, obtaining various alchemy supplies and biopsies from the afflicted, leaving a potent stench of smelling salts and other seemingly exotic aromas in their wake. Their tones are always hushed, occasionally interrupted by inquires as to their work, the answers always limited to sharp responses of 'progress' or 'promising' before dismissing them to continue.

A day and more of research leads them deep into the confines of the House of Plenty, a request for audience with the High Harvestmistress leads to an exchange of words and more> business concluded they stride with purpose back to the seclusion of their work, hidden away from the eyes of all in the apartment complex. They are not quick to exit.

Perhaps a discovery has been made?

Another day goes by, and the two wizards journey becomes further reaching. Frequently the two can been see shuffling all degree of items back to the apartments, again rarely indulging conversation on their progress more then short answers. They are spotted in Myth Drannor, The Oak and then Free Haven, their trek leading them back to Shadowdale.

Mere minutes upon entering, even the deaf would be wise to the ranting from inside its walls, one of the pair burst out with bottled rage threatening to burst, he reports a theft to the local guards before striding off east, any venturing that path in and out of the town will notice a reasonable section of forest disintegrated by spellfire.
