Attacks in the Mushroom Forest Empty
PostSubject: Attacks in the Mushroom Forest   Attacks in the Mushroom Forest EmptyWed Mar 07, 2012 4:41 pm

Xana makes a point of going around Sschindylryn and the refugee camps, asking about possible patrols out in the mushroom forest but a few cycles ago. Attacking a group of surfacers travelling to the trade city of Sschindylryn, they then started to fire off spells at herself. Whether from heat of the battle or if this was a group of heathen Drow, is unknown.

Xana makes it clear Sschindylryn is a trade city, and whether the regional camps around like it or not, it thrives on trade with the surface, and groups travelling there from the surface are important to it's survival. Marking groups and escorting them to the portal is not only preferrable for the city, it also minimises on losses, as a large part of the group attacking the surfacers was killed. Whether she says these things because of her houses links with the city or if other Drow see this actually makes sense is another matter entirely.

((Aware the Drow were DM spawned, but incase this kind of encounter happens it's good to hear peoples opinions))

If the trade city is to show its weakness by dealing with rivvel they should use their farun to make a portal to the surface as Usstan will not tolerate any living rivvel in udosann domain. (outside the elementals and outside fire lizards is surface domain, anything inside will be met with slavery or death or so...)

((If there is supposed neutral ground between drow and surfacers it should be proposed ))
(( If the trade city is in fact this ground, then venture there are your own risk ))
(( It I have a neat idea, if there was a portal in the trade city that linked to one end of a substantial dungeon to the surface. the dungeon and the city could then be considered neutral effectively, and it can then exemplify how we already view it. ))

((((( i would imagine mooooost lolthite drow would fail to desire any items or materials made by inferior surface races, buuuut they may be willing to cheat, and deceive them out of their possessions only to lure them outside the city to slit their throat in rarely traveled tunnel. for these uses they may tolerate it. other ud races have their own reasons for this citys benefit of course, and of course not all drow are lolthite, and of course theres much more to the story, but i only speculate 2/3 of my drow pcs would agree with me lol ))))))

// the lore reference of Sschindylryn as a trade city comes from their lose of military might in a conflict with Menzoberranzan and it's subsequent use of portals and lower local faerzress to conduct trade with other underdark cities in attempt to rebuild their fallen city into something less likely to be destroyed by other greater underdark powers. It is not a reference to the "surface underdark trade spot" Sschindylryn's main source of survival is not the surface, but trade with other underdark powers.

Sschindylryn is a Llothite city, and would respond to surface characters and reveled heretics as expected (and to the best of their weakned abilities)//

Mi'reli raises an eyebrow before snorting
"And once more the city demonstrates its weakness. Perhaps next it will start allowing darthiir to frolick around, or maybe next allow kivvil to start preaching their false gods? If usstan find any kivvil down here usstan will kill them usstaself

\\will point out Mi if she comes across any surfacers down in the Underdark will either kill them, sacrifice them or turn them into a rothe. Really surfacers by coming into the UD are accepting the consequences of such, drow are not going to allow them to wander around like that

Many of the common traders would complain that Ilythiiri Bandits have been a problem as of late. Numerous reports of this mid sized force of 20-30 Jaluks, mostly fighters led by a group of three sorcerers. They are mostly unorganized and offer no parlay, winning with sheer numbers rather than tactical prowess. Most could be seen leaving by way of invisibility potions.
