An old march to the temple Empty
PostSubject: An old march to the temple   An old march to the temple EmptyWed Jul 18, 2012 4:25 pm

A group of 6 elves Clad in ornate black armor emboldened by the symbol that nraion had on his tunic march towards the temple guarding a floating black coffin. They only give grim nods to people whom they march by. They carry spears and lower them at anyone tring to approach the coffin, its clear that they're trained well and that they'll fight to the death to protect the coffin. As they reach they temple, one heads inside and talks to the head priestess about honoring a fallen elven warrior. After a while they put the coffin in front of the statue of correlian placing a night black cloth on the coffin bowing their heads and take up ceremonial positions around the coffin looking poised to defend it if need be

"Wow...didn't know Elves still cared about him after he murdered so many folk and acted like a jerk. Odds of averages guess someone liked him." Spoken by Kira to a casual accquaintence, "Wait, isn't he the guy who sided with that Dragon? The one who tried to kill us all?"

Buys Pathea a drink, to celebrate this turn of events.

The guard starts leaving their posts, leaving two to watch over the coffin and go to the inn. They start talking " shame the zawn baught the farm, but I suppose it was the only way for The rest of the company to get out..." "It was a shame" the elves carry on drinking and talking

When the tumult ends and the temple is calm, besides the more discrete visitors of the coffin, and before the burial, Nadin approaches Corellon's statue. He silently remains there for a while, making a soundless respectfull pray to the Seldarine. Finally Nadin watches the coffin for a long moment, then he politely salutes the fallen elf, leaving a single arrow over the coffin, he finally speak some words in a calm and lowered voice.

- I saw you shooting hundreds of arrows, now accept one from me. I have happy and not so happy memories from you, but I prefer to honor you only with the first ones this day. May you find peace now and your next arrows can be to make the nights a bit more brighter.

The elf than turns and silently leaves the place.

*should Taeron see the guards walk with the coffin, he would probably inquire about who is inside it - he would not necessarily ask the guards themselves, but rather other elves - bystanders*

Celovar makes his way to the temple and lowers his head in respect for his friend. Even though they had not spoken in awhile, he still liked to think on the times when they first met.

Ililena would come by to pay her respects tears down her checks."Goodbye...my love...I will never forget you...may we embrace each other again..someday" she would then go to kneel before Corellion's statue making a prayer before silently make her way out of the temple back to the tavern still broken and shocked from the death of her Nraion.

"Only reason I gave you a moment is at one time you were one of us. That counts for something. I am sorry though that your love who sheds tears for you could not honor you in life as she does now that you are dead."

*with that he walks off to see to more pressing matters of the Akh'velahr*

The 6 six guards watch respectfully as each visitor pays their respects before they put a small silver falcon grasping a bow in one talon and a sword in the other and putting out notices that they will hold a burial the next day.

Karovir finally finds some time to visit what is left of Nraion. He stands next to him for a while and looks at him thoughtfully for a while but says no words. All he would have to say is in his mind but won't leave his lips as Nraion couldn't hear it anyway probably.

"Guys? Guys. He'll probably get better. They always get better..." She lightly sighs and reclines on bench puffing her pipe, letting out a slow cloud of sweet-smelling herb.

*After finding out the identity of the man in the coffin, Taeron leaves. He returns on the next day with a tribal mask made of wood, feathers and natural colors. He sets it as close to the coffin as the guards allow - not wanting to break some tradition or custom of theirs. He then spends the rest of the day on watch - honoring his fallen friend. A single word is muttered by the barbarian on the next morning:*

Yialae.

The Coronal comes to the temple once she heard the news.

She would speak quietly Nraion, you may have left from our realm but not from our thoughts. You have done good in the past and done bad but we will always remember the good. You will have a place of honor here my friend. She would lower her head placing a hand on the coffin saying a silent prayer.

The guards open the coffin revealing a jigsaw of cuts on nraion's body, it's clear to anyone watching that the cuts weren't what killed nrai; as he has what appears to be a spear wound going through his right eye and one could see the black coffin through the hole. Everything else on nrai's body is ghastly leaving one to really wonder how he died. The guards pull out a metal bow and place it on his chest before putting the arrow from nadin on nrai's left side and the mask on his right. They place a torn war-banner depicting a silver falcon on a field of azure on nrai covering him. They place the coffin lid over him muttering "may you lead a better life with our father brother". Four of them pick up the coffin while one leads with a torch and the last one in back seems ready to defend with spear and Sheild at the ready.

They walk to an out of the way grave over looking a lake. They lower the coffin into it before covering it with dirt before one pulls a blade put of it sleath and planting it into the dirt before it and the dirt turn into stone with an inscription which read:

Here lays
Nraion Aiounation
Last Leader of the Silverean Guards & mate to Illenia
The reason why 290 men and elves are still around
