A Feast!

News spreads about a feast in the works. Details are fuzzy at the moment, but it seems like it will be held in the northern reaches of Shadowdale and will be open to everybody at no charge (though it appears to be "Bring your own plates and utensils"). Kalin can be seen bouncing around making deals for crops, fish, meats, cheeses, breads, eggs, spices and more. The rumors might also include that a peasant's fortune has been spent on importing food from Sembia. And that a pack of hunters is hard at work chasing down wild game for the meal. Several farmers along the northern roads have been approached for permission to use their lands for a single day.

Kalin also seeks out:
- Cooks
- Butchers
- Bakers
- Anyone who can catch, gather, or buy food
- People to help set up tables and/or firepits
- Anyone else who can help

An update grants more validity to the rumors as the Zhentarim ((gracias a Zaburra y Sarla)) both allow the feast and even offer to provide security, though the on-duty officers will apparently not be allowed to partake in the festivities. The final location hasn't been announced, but there was talk of Zhentarim being stationed in the kobold mines during the feast, suggesting that a choice has been made.

Kalin finally starts distributing invitations and putting up posters for the feast:

The feast turns out to be a rousing success! Food and (maybe too much) drink was passed about freely, with only minor squabbles and general drunkenness. A round of dice concluded the affair, with losers helping to clean up and the one winner, Netheria Maya, taking home all the remaining booze. Even the Zhentarim were extra cheerful, helping to clean up the grounds afterwards and to carry Maya's liquor home for her.

All the remaining food is later given to anyone who seems hungry about town, with instructions on what will go bad quickly and what will keep.
