"May the fruits sustain you. Yes lets go to the Ranger Camp and tell all who will hear. I'm Iwean, I'll escort you to the Camp you should be safe from there." He pauses a moment when she says Lyon but shakes if off as a result of his current dilema. Besides why would a Nymph have a human name? Iwean follows her eager for a chance of an ally from the grove. "What is this seed your talking about?"

On her way towards the camp, Maya explains Iwean about the blight seeds: "I have been gardener for my entire life, and actively guarding the grove and Myth Drannor and tending its plant life, I know much about these things, but my knowledge of the blight seed is not as great. All I can share is what I learned from experience and from the Circle of Nature. In very early phase, the seed can be easily destroyed by pulling it out of the ground, with acid, but is probably guarded by tainted dryad and her servants. These seeds are usually set by powerful Blighters or maybe even by Talona herself, near one of great trees, and from there everything spreads. If the seed evolves to the second stage, it becomes immune to any druidic and divine magic. If that magic is used on it, it devours it and speeds up its evolution to grow faster and become deadlier, becoming a dark seed. Such seed is cable to spread corruption through spacious lands and take down many life forms, slowly through pain. Plant life starts to wither and animals mutate to aggressive beasts, brainlessly attacking anyone, even each other, or if the seed planter directs them to specific targets. None of them eventually survive the disease and corruption, and at the end animals explode with terrible and painful death. These animals and plant life are not anymore subject to divine magic as well, just like the dark seed, and using it on them speed up the process as they devour all divine magic and mutate faster into terrible beasts. This corruption can spread even into the world of nature spirits, and only arcane magic has chance against it. The seed can be destroyed with arcane magic. The last stage of evoultion I saw of the seed is when it grows and becomes a plant creature, capable of defending itself, becoming even more dangerous and risky to those around it. To destroy the seed in this stage of evolution, powerful ritual is required, something that elder druidess Enia taught us, as she posses both type of magics, arcane and divine, being fey herself. Me and my brother Victor as members of the circle, had what was needed to destroy it. The seed was hidden before the Great Tree in Druid's Grove in Shadowdale Woods, few months ago; and the druids and other divine users were able to restore the land. With out gifts combined through this ritual, we were able to destroy the seed and heal the land that its corruption caught. But then soon again another of the seeds appeared in Midwood, lucky for my brothers in circle, they discovered it on time, killed its Planter Blighter, destroyed the seed while it was still weak first stage of evolution, and restored the tainted dryad. But now another blight began here, in Fox Ridge, which makes me believe that this blight seed is somewhere hiden on this land now. Maybe they did not plant it this time near a tree, because they learned from their mistakes in past that when something happens near trees, us forest walkers will know. So I thought I should search for it in Gnoll caves, as they acted very strange and were more aggressive and more powerful when the blight started to manifests itself. I thought that it could be hidden in these dark caves, but I was not able to find anything, and now I fear what will happen with this land, its life, and its mushrooms. As Queen of the Mushrooms, it is my duty to protect them." Maya finishes her explanation when she arrives in ranger's camp.

PostSubject: Re: Imbalance   Imbalance - Page 2 EmptySat Mar 16, 2013 1:07 pm

While traveling he listens to Maya's description of the blight. When they arrive at the at the Ranger Camp. "You're a memeber of the Circle of Nature? " He looks at her with a different light but still believes she is a Nymph. Do you know anything about a being called The Sleeper or a Giant White Wolf? I remember along time ago I was a lost child of nature and came to the Circle for guidance and a chance to find my way. I was disrespcetfully sent away with nothing but hostility all due to a clasp I wore on my cloak and the Arch Spirits hatered for the Zhents. This added even more to my loneliness and confusion. I was in a personnal dilema. My whole calling life my calling has to been to protect the forest. This I know in my heart and until recently it has guided me very well. My memories of my life before arriving here are gone. All I have is my feelings and faith that my heart is pure. I don't remember the events or experiences that shaped my beliefs. "Lea dni Orusyhr Koutili li" Said in Halfing as a preacher would before begining a sermon or a pious persons request for guidance. "When the Arch Spirit pushed me away from the Circle and no one in the Grove appeared to support me I was devastated, an anger in me grew. I felt alone and lost even more so. I continued my devotions and tending the forest regardless of the Circle's feelings towards me. I knew I could not do this alone and the Grove and the Circle were denied me. I went to the Elves in Myth Drannor and there all the Elves could see was I was a human. I then made my mind up to join the Black Hounds. It was then I decided I would go this alone as it was clear the land was in need. I would maintain my allegiance to the Hounds knowing one day I would need their help. It was after this I came across a group of people talking of a Gold Dragon and its request for assistance. I saw a chance to redeem my self in the eyes of the Elves." Pause and holds back tears. "As I found it was foolish of me to seek fame and a family died as result. I went into seclusion and only visited the Grove for a long time. When anyone came I would leave. I searched my soul for an answer. It was months before I left to travel the forest I'd been tending. I found my labors had not been for naught. So I returned to my duties avoiding contact with other people. I saw the results of the first blight you spoke of. And due to my disconnect with the Grove and the Circle I knew nothing of the cause and continued to react to the destuction doing my best. And now I know the Circle was involved in the cleansing." He pauses a moment and takes a deep breath as feeling a relief to finally expressing his thoughts. "I then meet a gentleman named Crypto, from Gold Dragon event. He assisted me in achieving a greater level of meditation. It was then I had a vision of the Forest Cormanthor, this vision had chunks of the forest torn out of it it place of Myth Drannor and Shdowdale. When I tried to focus on the outside all I got was nothing else matters. So the powers that be have set me to a task and removed any distractions that will prevent me from this task. It wasn't long after that I had my second encounter with the Arch Spirit. I felt the Arch Spirit was not for nature but on a personnal vendenta against the Zhentarium. It was then my hatered for the Arch Spirit welled up inside me and I could not focus on anything else beside him and the pain and suffereing I went through at his hands. All I could see was the Arch Spirit in horns and smoking with a red and green circle around him. I didn't want to kill anyone but I a strong desire to inflict pain on this person. And now the pain has returned but I must focus on my task. Its imperative." Has focused look on his face as he stares at something in his mind. "So can you help with a petion to the Grove?"

PostSubject: Re: Imbalance   Imbalance - Page 2 EmptySat Mar 16, 2013 2:21 pm

Maya nods to Iwean: "Yes I am sister of the circle, one of the grove, I have been here for long time, watching leaders of the circle come and go in wars against Zhentarim, until Archspirit was chosen to take it in his hands, and when the circle stopped all the attacks against Zhentarim, and was only attacked by. But I prefer to call him Leo, he is my brother, so his rank in the circle means little to me, especially after he worked on neutrality with zhetnarim, even at cost of lives of our own family." She frowns obviously disagreeing with Leo's decision to change the course of the circle to neutral, and speaks with tone that clearly allows Iwean that she is the one who would want to see Zhentarim fall. It would be clear to Iwean now that she is being held back by her brother, by the Archspirit, to go against Zhentarim. She shakes her head and answers to next Iwean's question: "Yes I know of him, of the Sleeper, he took the position in circle as Archdruid, by force. But his ruling was short, just like his appearance. His goal was to unite furies with the rest of nature deities, which was obviously a failure. I am glad he is gone now. But if you wore cloak of zhetnarim, obviously you would not be able to join the circle. As much as I hate zhentarim, this does not have to do anything with them. Bane is not a deity listed in circle, it is not deity of nature, and if you wear his symbols you will never join this circle. I am sorry that you had to be alone, but that was your choice and Leo was correct to deny your joining." She sighs at mentioning earning trust with elves in Myth Drannor, obviously knows herself how hard that can be. But after hearing he joined Black Hounds, she frowns and answers, calling Black Hounds with different name is she always did: "How could you join Black Horses? Did you know that they are responsible for the Age of Eyeless Men in Myth Drannor? Not to mention that I saw myself their work with Zhentarim, and claim to be "neutral". I know that they do not pick sides, they do job when coin is shown in front of their eyes for anyone, I was able to test that for myself as well. And their crazy fake Sunite Kira was a Sharkomancer-Necromancer, almost brought the circle in war with her false accusations and shadowy necromancy work in Ironhouse mines, which as result where us Lyons tried to save them, turned us as bad people and we ended Ironwalled, and lost alliance with dwarves. I know that dwarves were easy to fool, but I thought that humans can think more." She starts to feel bored after seeing another human, according to her believes, falling in wrong waters and going with wrong people. It feels like she now considers Iwean just another regular human and starts to look at him with different light as well. She confirms with nod as she continues to listen to Iwean about event with gold dragon, to agree that Crypto is indeed a gentlemen. "I was not present on this event, but my brother Leo was able to save the baby from death that zhentarim failed to deliver upon still young and defenseless creature, I am familiar with some things that happened." But then she shakes her head to show Iwean that she disagrees with his feeling that Leo went against zhentarim because of personal problems: "That is simply not true Iwean. My brother is influenced by druids, and his nature changed since he joined the circle years ago. I can even say that he is stupid for not going against zhentarim like leaders of the circle before him, I mean he is trying to make neutrality and peace with Zhentarim, a person must be either crazy or stupid to do that, they even call him a coward for not going against them. His word is what keeps me from attacking zhentarim myself, and it is very frustrating. He is my brother, and that is the only reason I gave up ideas to attack zhetnarim. But if I wouldn't be sister of the circle, and him not being my brother, I would battle the zhentarim and if needed die trying. This is all their fault, they never did anything to stop Talonites under their Old Skull Inn." She then starts to think about the help that Iwean asked for as she moves her hair behind one of her pointy ear. After she prepares answer, she looks him straight in eyes and gives him a condition: "If you want to restore your connection with the grove, then you must cut your connection with Black Horses and Zhentarim. If yon need more time I will leave you be to think, and if you need help, listen to whispers of the Mushrooms during night. Their voices can help you bring the right decision. But only if you listen carefully, you can hear them."

*Pauses a moment and looks at her* "Your not a Nymph are you or is your brother Fey also?" Pauses for her answer "The people I've meet in the Hounds don't behave the way you mentioned. I've not meet all the members but I've not witnessed them taking any jobs from the Zhents, Ironhouse or Myth Drannor. But I spent most of my time in the forest. Any jobs I went on with them they were always respectful and professional. I would hate to loose any potential allies. But I'm finding it harder to do my duties with the affiliation. If only your brother had been open with me he would have found at the time I was only planning on joining the Hounds and wanted to see about the Circle first. During my exploration I found people put your family and the Circle as one and I found very few people who respected the Circle or the Lyon family. I can understand people thinking that of others who have drive and especially when it involves nature. I will resign my position with the Black hounds, but will not break off friendship with them until I see reason to. I believe I'm a pawn and it is for the good of the Cormanthor forest. I will not stay my path on this. With or without the Circle, Zhents or Myth Drannor support. The other day when I confronted you family I firmly believe taking any of the animals from the forest would have been drastic. But I felt your brother is being driven by vengence and not a desire to protect the forest and I had to stop it. Then when the blight resurfacing while we argued It angered me even more. Especially when I seen the forces assemble behind Leo, I wondered how he could make so many blind with vengence. I looked over the assembled and all I saw was rage and anger. Leo was the first person I harmed in this area and was baffled by all these people following him. I do wish to be affilated with the Circle and will have to rethinking my feelings for Leo. I'm sadden by the loss of blood this altercation has caused. But, ....I believe in my cause and will die for it."

*The tall, bearded man watches as the pair emerge from the caves and make their way towards the Grove. He sighs quietly and shakes his head before turning back to the tree he had been tending and mutters:*

At least the crazy one wasn't killed, brother. Perhaps the other protected her from the dog men.

*He pauses in his work a bit and a slight smile crosses his weathered face.*

Or maybe Grumbar likes those who are touched. Anyone that thinks an Uthgart male is a giant dwarf must have eaten some bad mushrooms...or good ones as the case may be.

*He finishes his work on the blighted tree and moves on to the next to start his work again.*

A small gnome can be seen roaming through Fox Ridge, taking in the damage and inspecting the work that has been done to heal the trees. She sees the bearded man and approaches. "Whathashappenedhere? Whyarethetreessick?" Her voice is squeaky and her speech rapid with her heightened emotions. She listens to his response, as well as his explanations of all he has done to help the trees. "AndwhatoftheCircle? Whataretheydoingtohelp? Theanimalsaresickaswell." The bearded man explains he does not speak for the Circle and cannot answer the question. The two then spend the rest of the night healing the sick animals and continuing to work with the trees. Afterward, the gnome sighs heavily and looks around. "ItseemsIhavecometoolate. I will need to speak with the Circle and see what is happening here."

Not so distant from the camp, shining is visible from a male figure performing exotic movement as he uses magic of nature, with a wooden staff. His appearance is little blurry and his skin covered with oaken green wood, something like how would a dryad look if it could be male.

Imbalance - Page 2 LeoOak

It is a Lyon, to some know as Archspirit, in his full work of healing the nature from the blight. His chants words on sylvan, his voice reminds on Leo's, but sounds little deeper. He works with his hands and staff, removing the blight (if he can) from surroundings of the camp to protect rangers. He raises staff above his head with both hands as he finishes another recitation. Those who could notice, it appears that he was moving in a circle, creating a ring on the ground, and when he finished recitation and rose the staff above his head, area of effect that he created with ring fills up with healing magic, restoring natural color of grass and flowers slowly (aoe heal). He then approaches to a tree and delivers healing and restoration as he touches it with both his hands. His chanting continues sometimes over and over, and sometimes a new spell is spoken. He extends his hand in night and motions over to something to come as he speaks up summon magic. When animal comes from the night, he kneels before it and gently tickles it under its jaw, again sending healing energy into the creature with a smile, and then ends the summoning, allowing animal to do what it wishes from here. Once he finishes what he could do for now, he enters the camp, and looks at Iwean. He frowns when he sees that his sister Maya is having a conversation with him, and approaches, crossing his arms.

A young seeming aasimar moves among the trees, her motions careful yet fluid and graceful. Blue within blue eyes scan the area, a light frown on her lips at the sight of the blight. She examines the withering plants, careful not to let the blight transfer to her.

She seems to be looking for someone, or something as she moves trough the trees. Finally, after a time, she comes across the bearded druid tending the trees. Cautiously, she approaches him and bows.

"I am known by my circle as Sahiba of Jacartu." She says softly. "Great Druid Cejari has informed me of the situation and I have come to lend what aid I can. Where would you like for me to begin, brother druid?"

*The tall man stops his work and softly pats the now-mending bark of another Oak, then turns to the woman and looks her up and down before nodding a bit.*

I saw you speaking with her earlier. I watched from the trees. I have been gathering materials for a ritual to speed up the recovery of the trees in the area.

*He holds out three leaves and some acorns. The leaves are easily seen to be from an Oak, an Ash, and a Thorn tree.*

If you can find some live mistletoe and gather some of its leaves, we will have what is needed for the first part. The Call of Oak, Ash, and Thorn. This will allow us to call upon the Oak Father to hear our call in this time of need. Once that is done, we must perform the Song of the Trees. If you know of any who follow the Oak Father, they should be gathered for this as the Song gains strength with additional participants.

*He then looks at her with a questioning gaze.*

I did not think to ask, child. Do you follow the Oak Father, yourself?

"I shall seek out the mistletoe." She says, taking one step back before turning and running with the wind through the woods in search of untainted, live mistletoe.

Iwean recognizes the figure approaching as that of the Arch Spirit. He looks to Maya and rises to leave. "I hope you and your family are going to be able to help with this newest threat." Glances at the approaching figure and turns leave. "Untill then I must leave. There is a lot of damage out there and its going to take some work. I've yet to see anything being done."

It takes her a while, but eventually Sahiba manages to find that which she seeks, fresh untainted mistletoe nestled with in an oak tree. Carefully, she plucks a branch from the mistletoe bush, careful to thank the plant for its gift and pouring most of the water from her waterskin as a gift of gratitude.

Turning, she makes her way back to where she left her brother druid, bringing him the mistletoe branch with all due haste.

On the top of Fox ridge a humanoid wearing a black armor made of scales can be seen one night, out of his head jut several tentacles, his eyes are yellow and his face shows a sick, evil grin which reveals yellow pointy teeth. Next to him lurks a wolf sized spider. Those who are wary of magic can sense that he is prepared.

He calls his dark goddess to help him bring even more disease upon the land, shortly after the chant insect swarms might be heard in the vicinity of Fox Ridge.

The insects seem to attack the plants and eat up the foliage of the trees.

Madly laughing the humanoid stands on the hill, watching his beloved art spread...

Some distance away another spectator watches, two softly glowing red eyes watch the scene the features covered by a hood, she watches not the source but the scene of destruction as a slight smile touches her face.

Any insects trying to land on her would sizzle and fall to the ground as her form seems to crackle with electricity, but she makes no move to involve herself quite content to just watch the destruction.

Eiko takes a few steps into the blighted forest hesitently. She looks about sadly at the decay and blight she sees. She notices two of her siblings and jogs over to offer her knowledge as a farmhand and her able body for anything she can do to help the restoration of the forest.

Oaken Lyon listens to his sister Maya, but he also glances around to see if anyone else is listening to what she just said, did not want to feel embarrassed again. While he understands how Maya has her own versions of explanations, he knows that her stories hold the truth needed for the course of next action. He remains quiet and nods to her when she finishes and approaches to whisper him something. He leans down so that his sister can reach his ear more easily, and listens to the secret she shares with him. When she finishes he frowns to the news he just received and wonders how can that be. When he hears Eiko coming from behind, he glances over his shoulder, and then turns towards her. "Eiko, hello little sister. What brings you here?" Oaken Lyon looks at Eiko's eyes as he greets her and asks question in sylvan, hoping that she will not be shy towards her own brother again and that she will feel easier to talk.

Sahiba notices the incoming swarm, and takes a moment to say a quick prayer to the Forest Mother. Opening her eyes, she clutches the mistletoe branch close to her and pulls out a strange looking wooden object attached to a string. Letting the slender disk-like object hang from the string, she begins to spin it over her head with her free hand, creating a low-pitching whirling sound as it spins.

As the device whirls in the air, a light wind picks up around her. Something between the sound and the wind swirling around her keep the swarm from attacking her and the precious mistletoe branch in her possession. It does little for the forest around her, only marginally affecting the swarm as a whole, but it does at least help to clear a path for her to return to her fellow druid.

((Sorry guys...I'm a little slow in getting back to the post by Saiya. Forgive me for being a bit behind in my answers.))

*Sahiba easily finds the forest warrior tending to the bark of yet another great oak. At her approach, he stands, pats the tree, and smiles to her. He rummages in his pouch and brings forth a small figure of a wolf, delicately carved from what appears to be ash and holds it up to her.*

I carved this as a fitting sacrifice to the Oak Father. It will be destroyed in his name before the other rituals begin. And you have found that which was needed to make the ritual more effective, I see. Good, good. Sit with me while I explain what we do first to bring the favor of Silvanus to this land.

*He takes the mistletoe from her in a much more gentle fashion than his size and appearance would suggest possible. He then sits and beckons her to join him as he brings forth a simple bowl of hardened white oak and a round-tipped stick made of the same. He places the acorns and mistletoe in the bowl and begins to grind them to a fine powder. When he seems satisfied, he adds some rain water he had collected earlier to form a rather runny paste. Between his prayers while doing this, he tries to explain the process to Sahiba.*

My mother taught of ways to garner the attention and favor of the Oak Father. The leaves will be floated upon water near a moss-covered tree over night while I stand vigil. This is the right of Oak, Ash, and Thorn…the most basic of prayers to the Oak Father. But, because the need is so great, the right needs to be more potent.

*He then starts smearing the paste onto his exposed skin while he continues.*

This mixture brings the anointed one closer to the Oak Father during the right. It is only used in times of great need. And I feel this is one of such.

*As he finishes applying the paste, he stands. With the paste and his wooden armor and gear, he seems more tree than man at this point. As he looks down to her, he invites her to bear witness to the rite if she wished.*

This right will be a bit…boring…for those who are not followers of Silvanus, I am afraid. But, so long as you do not interfere, you are most welcome to join me and learn. In three days time from the end of the right, I will perform the Song of the Trees. During those three days, I will continue my work as I have been doing. You are, of course, free to join me in either or both aspects if you wish.

*He waits for no answer before moving towards the nearest tree that bears moss and is near a pool of water to start the right of Oak, Ash, and Thorn.*

--------------------------------------

((And up to current))

*The forest warrior would not hear the sounds of the insects while in the trance state of the right of Oak, Ash, and Thorn. He would continue to lay in the grass near the tree and pool of water with the leaves floating in it while touching the moss throughout the night. When he awakens from the ritual, he would, only then, find out that the blighter he had been seeking shown up only when he was incapacitated and in communion with the Oak Father. His normally calm personality would fade somewhat as the barbaric rage rises once more and his eyes flash with lightning. Anyone near when he wakes would hear him almost growl out some words while re-streaking his war paint over the dried paste and donning his weapon and shield.*

One man...in one night...can undo all that has been done. By the Oak Father I swear this one will be pounded into fertilizer for the new saplings. Protect or avenge...the only oath remaining.

*He then sets out on a more constant patrol of the forest with rage and duty in his eyes.*

He left a message specifically to us who walk with the nature and who protect it, casting a blame on us for something that did not happen for who knows what reason." He then turns to Maya too so he gives attention to both as he continues to speak on sylvan. "If he is anything like the previously Blighter we killed, expect shadow panthers, minotaurs and tainted plant creatures to aid him. But it can be also a new threat we did not face before. Give me some time to lift my wards of nature before we leave the camp, and then we can leave to banish the blight." Leo wards himself and motions to his sisters to follow him out of the camp to search through woods and heal the forest. "Eiko sister, guard me while perform magic."

Sahiba listens well, aiding her druidic brother where she could. During the night, she kept watch over him, guarding him as best she could. When the swarm came close to them, she used her strange wooden device to drive the swarm away from the druid's work. It was as one in defiance of the ocean waves, but she held her ground and kept the swarm at bay as best she could.

When the trance broke and the Tree Man saw what had been done, Sahiba feared for but a moment at the anger that swelled within him. Though she was exhausted from her vigil, she took up sword, shield, and bow as well, following her druid brother along his patrol.
