A Silent Knight

Recently for the past few days, Vincent has spent more and more time at the Dancing Moon Theater. Specifically behind it on top of the hill. His patrols become less frequent as well as his presence around other areas. He consumes a good portion of each day, standing at a grave site, staring down to it in deep thought.

During one of the days that Vincent is at the grave, Cadence joins him.  Her approach is mostly silent, the only sound the whisper of silk rustling in the wind and the gentle crunching of grass beneath her feet.  In her hands she carries a pair of drinks, one of which she holds out to Vincent once she is standing beside him.

Mara spends most of her time at the Dancing Moon now...drinking tea or ale. Her patrols have slowed to almost non existent.  She watches Vincent when she is outside but keeps her distance .....she seems to keep her distance from most of whom she would have called friends.

Late last eve, a frail priestess joins Vincent in his vigil of the grave.  While not in her usual grey robes, her bandaged hands and red cord wrapped around her left wrist quickly identifies her as a priestess of the Crying God.  She leans heavily on her staff, wheezing after her strenuous journey back to the region.  Her light cough breaks Vincent's revery and alerts him to her presence.  Though initially shy in her responses, the sickly woman tries to provide wisdom and comfort through this difficult time.  The two talk through the night, only returning to the theatre as the sun began to rise, Vincent offering his arm to Kathryn as they go inside.

As all go back inside Mara, who normally wears her red armor is clad in black, approaches the grave and places a small trinket on the grave.


May She watch over you in the after life.

She turns to go back inside.

The day that Cadence comes out to join him with a drink, it takes him a short moment to realize her presence before he looks to her with a small smile, taking the drink with a nod. 

"Thank you.."

After taking the drink, his focus returns to the grave.

After the night that Kathryn spent with him, Vincents presence at the grave lessens during the day, though it seems he still spends quite some time at night. At some points through the night, he'd next to the head stone, against the tree resting his head against the tree to look up at the night sky.

Mara would approach Vincent silently, as silently as one in armor can be, looking to him.

She speaks but to no one in particular ...

Losing a loved one is never easy. . She looks to Vincent.   I am here for you should you need an old friend.

Hearing the heavy armored steps get closer to him, he'd give a quick alerted gaze to her. Noticing it is Mara he sighs in slight relief, forming a small smile. As she speaks his smile would only grow more with a nod of appreciation.

"Thank you Mara. Old friends are something that seem a rarity these days, and are much needed."

That they are.  Seems everyone is losing someone.  But such is the life in times of war.  All we can do is be there for one another.

 She sits down next to him.

Life throws us fire balls at times.  All we can do is dodge them and hope they fizzle out before hitting anyone else.

 She offers him her flask.

One day when no one else is there Karovir visits the grave and stands there for a while silently until he vanishes after some time. The next time when someone visits the grave they can see a small shrine of rocks in the form of a throne not far away from the grave.

Hork will continue on with his routine.  Only pausing if spoken to.  If Cadence is around he will keep a discrete distance.
