A tall halfling hands off the following note to the gate guards at Ironhouse Hall, with the request that it reach Valtore Ironhouse. The contents of the note are written in practiced dwarven with skilled execution of its dethek runes.

I am a student of the arcane looking to delve into the science and art of construct crafting, and my friend Bryanna of Shadowdale suggested that I attempt to contact you to discuss the matter. I do not expect the knowledge to be given lightly, or freely, and am more than willing to negotiate an exchange of some sort if it is to your fancy. I can be reached in Shadowdale, either in person or by leaving a letter with the barkeep of the Old Skull Inn. I look forward to the possibility of speaking with you in person.

Meri writes hastily back, communicating her eager acceptance of this invitation. Soon enough, she arrives at Runedar Xoth and begins perusing their collection, systemically noting any and all references to golem instruction manuals. Unless she is fortunate enough to stumble across exactly what she seeks in the first go-around, she uses the results of her initial search, and the footnotes and citations contained therein, to narrow the focus of her research.

In addition to searching for reference material along the traditional vein (ie, necessary components, recipes for crafting limbs, head, torso etc), she also researches a particular sub-topic of golem construction: Namely she wishes to investigate exceptions to the conventional wisdom that earth elementals be used to animate all constructs. Is there any reliable evidence to suggest that an Ice Para-Elemental could be used for the same purpose with similar stability and success?
