Meanwhile, at the Moon...

After a long discussion with Kendra and Dacius, Arjay returns to his room under the Moon. He gathers light food, with instructions to the staff to bring more every two days and bring it down to him, but to leave it just outside his door on a tray.

Then, heading down to the staff apartments, he seals himself into his sitting room. He sniffs various incenses before picking an expensive one and pouring it into a brazier. He changes into clothes that will be comfortable for a few days, then arranges himself before four thin ivory strips, themselves set in the shape of a rectangle, before lighting the incense and speaking the magic words that plunge him into the depths of another lengthy divination.
