Banned duty

After the evacuation efforts were stopped and since the escort of people from Myth Drannor back to Shadowdale is slow, Mark decides to check at Shadowdale East gate with anyone avaible.
"So, need a hand with something? I know you need people patrolling the lands but I can detect infected people so... I could use a hand"

Bryanna comes to the gates in her rounds and hears Mark out.

"I understand Mark... if you are patient.. we have a number of people who want to leave for Myth Drannor still. If you can make a camp out here and organize some other volunteers to help escort them there. It may be quite the sizable group so you will need more than just you."

"All I can ask is that we make an effort to make sure that we don't begin to fight each other Mark. Please be patient, and the escort duties are all I can think of at the time. It is very important work though, there's been enough time for our situation to become known so these later groups may have a more dangerous trip than the early ones."

"Well, I am setting up camp in that hill to the right just as you exit Shadowdale through this gate, send volunteers within town there so I can start organizing them in groups, meanwhile I will search for them outside town. I would also like to hear confirmation that Laura is doing fine within town and here..." he hands Bryanna a wooden box "There is a sandwich there for Laura, Luskan style, she loves them. Will you make sure she receives it?"

Bryanna takes the box. "I'll make sure she gets it Mark. And she's been well the last I've seen her as of last eve. She's been invaluable to the town, her and Jonah both. With any luck when the dust settles we'll see them with a more active roll in leading the town than they had before. I'll send the volunteers to you, but it may be a day before we're ready to send a group."

"Just so we are clear, am I the one organizing this? I just don't want people bitching about it later, you know the deal. And, yeah, I think they would make good council members or some other stuff like that you civilized folks do, tehehehe, get it? Ahem, anyways, if you need someone pulling some crazy stunt in regards of the security of Shadowdale, I'm the guy! And I am banned, imagine the thinks I could do if Vincent hadn't banned me for telling him to f++k off!" Mark chuckles and looks around, he is clearly not used to be having a friendly conversation

"I want to avoid putting anyone in charge in particular Mark. I want everyone to work together cooperatively. This is our time as a people to pull together to protect our own and set aside our differences. To do as we've seen the elves do for one another, and for us. To do as we've seen the dwarves do for one another, and for us. It is time we show that humans too, can set aside their petty differences, the desire to be in charge... and simply work together to do what is right and proper."

"dung, save the speech for the farmers that need it, don't waste breath on me, I already know that we are all equal in essence. Seriously, did you thought I needed such a speech or are you just training for when you need to adress all the people that will be broken by their loss? Because that's one hell of a thing someone will have to do to get their dung together, poor bastards..." Mark sighs and tilts his head "How are you doing anyways?"

"No, but I thought you needed to hear it so you might not cuss out the first person who doesn't leap to do what you say." Bryanna answers in an amused tone. "As for me... I don't know how I'm doing. I haven't had time to think about that."

After setting up camp East of Shadowdale Mark sighs looking around and seeing no volunteers around "Well, I am not sure what I expected..."

Cleo shows up, carrying some large sacks stuffed with household items, and accompanying two women.

"Hello Mark. You're a sight for sore eyes."

He pauses a moment, a sort of goofy smile on his face, regarding Mark, then snaps back to his surroundsings.

"Mark, this is Suzi. She needs to get to Myth Drannor. Her son Tommy waits at the Morning Farms. And this woman is going, too. Please make sure she sees Brother Orren, the Chauntean. Looks like we got here just in time. About to head out?"

"I cannot make sure of anything past Rimwood, Cleo, I am banned for being in league with the drow, remember? But I can make sure they get there safely" He walks towards Cleo and grabs the sacks wether he allows it or not "I assume those are theirs? A bit of mule training won't be bad. Pleasure to meet you both"

Mark yawns as the sun raises in the horizon, by now most people that are to be escorted back to Shadowdale are already inside the city, so far no volunteers have come to his camp and he sighs.
"Guess I will get a wand of dismissal and search through the lands by myself... wiiiiiiiii" he says to himself without any kind of enthusiasm since he is low on money and he will have to expend everything he was saving for a gift on a stupid wand that he won't ever use.

Mark stands up and sighs, hoping that somebody will show up, willing to help.

Mark was leaning against the burnt tree near Shadowdale East gate, it was raining after confronting the two vampires that wanted Jonah for themselves, he was meditating about the presence of Undead in the surrounding area of his camp with a frown.
The fact that he was camping in the middle of nowhere didn't give him much security and being alone, without any volunteers was taking a toll, he worked hard everyday and by night he wasn't able to sleep well due to his paranoia.
"The things I do for the ones that have me banned..." he let out a sigh and smiled, at least he knew someone in Arvandor was smiling at his work.

Mark yawns, clearly from the lack of sleep but smiles at her and stands up sword in hand, he must have slept with it between his hands.
"I am not going to ask you to make me breakfast but if you have something to it, you are welcome to share" He laughed a bit "No need to check on me, Asteria, you know that... Focus on the important things. How are your things going? Do you require any help?"
Mark smiles looking at her directly in the eyes, as if trying to make her comfortable and obviously not worrying about darker topics.

Mark smiles and shakes his head "Nobody has come so far to the camp and I am sure as hell not making you stay when you have duties elsewhere, the company is appreciated though and worry not, it is just lack of sleep, could be worse" he grins at her for a moment then shares his own food, consisting mainly on dried meat, with her eating happily and relaxing for a while at the camp.
"You wanted to? That is an odd thing to say As-tree-ria, you know that?" he would say looking at her, while eating.

"There are still people who need escorts and recently I caught two vampires threatening a friend not fifty meters away from the wall, so the security around here is pathetic... Guess they needed a hand and hell, who better to show the morons as Arjay, Vincent, Gran and the like how to do things properly?" he laughs and keeps eating while looking at her up and down
"Been swimming in sand? If I sneeze on you I'll probably cause a sandstorm..." he smirks looking at her

"Well, I might find out" he says finishing the meal and standing up "I have been asked to move my camp towards the edge of Daggerhills, the North Gate of Shadowdale and keep watch there for the undead, so that is were I am going" he packed his things while talking to her
"I suppose I will see you there, it is a shame we no longer see each other like before but you look better than at the time, if you ever need anything, I will be on top of the hill where the desert starts"
Mark then grabbed his things, kissed her cheek and moved on
