Beltaram approaches the Ahk'Velahr encamped in the SD Woods

"Treefather's blessings, kin. I was wondering if I might speak with a commander in regards to the occupation of these woods?"


He stands some meters away, leaning on his staff as he looks over the Ahk'Velahr before him.

"Seldarines blessings cousin, occupation?"

He Looks a bit a suprised at the choice of words..

"we arrived here more than three months ago, i have not seen you before in these woods my friend nor did you share our fire before. The Arkerym is currently at our encampment in Shadowdale east but Nykerym Aredhel is present in this encampment. You forgot to mention your name though Cousin..."

He leans back off his staff with a friendly smile.

"Of course, I'm sorry! I am Beltaram, or simply Ram if you like. I arrived here in Shadowdale within the last tenday. I've been tending the areas of these woods that have been made barren, helping to ensure new life can take root.

In fact, that is why I am here to speak with your commanders today. I wish to bring to their attention the hard work that has been done here in recent months, so that the camps do not encroach on the budding life.

If I could speak with Nykerym Aredhel, I would be greatly appreciative."

the Or´Tel Quessir would look at Beltram as if he had said something odd, pausing a moment and doing a double take at him, and then would almost look offended.

his voice would change to a much formal tone now. A nearby Teu´tel Quessir with a bow at his side would exchange looks with the speaker.

"I will see if the Nykerym is available. Stay here."

"I will. Thank you for your assistance."

He offers another friendly smile as leans on his staff once more.

while the Or´Tel Quessir leaves, the Teu´Tel Quessir observes Beltram with confusion on his face.

A few moments later two Or´Tel Quessir would arrive, the former being followed by a new face. A Or´Tel Quessir dressed like the others in dark hunting leathers, entwined and woven into his hair are some feathers, beads. He wears a silver pendant of an arrow around his neck.

As they approach Beltram he would nod to him politely.

"I was told you wanted to talk to me about some concerns, Cousin? I am Nykerym Aredhel, the second in command of the forces stationed here."

The other Or´Tel Quessir would watch Beltram from a few feet away.

"Yes, thank you for seeing me without much notice. I am Beltaram, a druid who has come to Shadowdale from deep within the Cormanthor. I've been helping with efforts in these woods to return the plant life, and I just wanted to voice my concerns about your camp. There's no issue now, of course. I merely wanted to inform you of our efforts and ask your cooperation in making sure to not encroach too much on the wildlife. This is a delicate new beginning for the area, and should be met with care and caution."

He continues to lean on his staff, a friendly expression worn on his face.

the Nykerym exchanges a look with the other Or´Tel Quessir, taking a deep breath
and then adresses Beltaram.

"Cousin, we both share the same heritage as many of my men here.. I also have large number of Sy´Tel Quessir among my scouts. I am a bit confused. You, as Druid of the holy Seldarine, imply that we as Tel´Quessir, your kin, would be a danger to these Woods?"

His keeps a polite tone, though he is clearly more distanced now than at the beginning.

"I'm a child of Silvanus, actually. And I didn't imply that you would cause harm, cousin." He would pause a moment, gathering his thoughts.

"Also, sharing my heritage does not grant special exemption from my concern about the land. I came to you only to voice that concern, nothing more. Consider it a friendly reminder, not a demand. I'm in no position to tell you how to command your forces, but as a protector of the balance it is my duty to ensure all folk respect it."

"In all honesty, Nykerym, I know less about the elves of Myth Drannor than some humans. One tends to miss out on some things being secluded in the woods for over a hundred years."

His voice remains calm and informal, as if speaking with an old friend. He gives a light, nervous laugh after he finishes speaking, unsure of how the soldiers will react to learning of his faith. Feeling his control over a civil conversation slipping, however, he would attempt another smile.

Having wandered close to the north-eastern edge of the town, as per the usual for the woman masked and clothed in green, Lhanir watched and listened to the conversing elves from a reasonable distance. It was very likely that she had gone unnoticed given her camo appearance, up until she approached to stand beside Beltaram, just inches below his height.

"If I may," she began politely, looking between the pair before her gaze settle on the druid. "The Ahk'Velahr here are protecting the city, not encroaching upon the forest. Were they proven to be a difficulty to those of us who watch this part of the Dales, they would have been dealt with upon arrival. I can assure you, Ram, that if our assorted kin do not understand the need for respect, they will soon learn it."

Her attention passed to the Nykerym then, her head dipping slightly beneath her cowl. "If there is something that you may notice to be suspicious beyond your boundaries, I ask that you inform the Circle promptly. We have been dealing with much of the undead and a series of Talonite attacks."

"I meant no disrespect to anyone, sister."

He pauses a moment.

"I'll take my leave now."

Ram nods to the Nykerym.

"Thank you for your time. Nature's blessings."

He leans off of his staff, and with a smile to Lhanir and the Nykerym he turns to leave.

Aredhel would seem very suprised.

"Ah i see, Silvanus then" he would exchange some looks with the other elves, who seem to look at Beltaram with some kind of pity now.

As he is about to say something else Lhanir suddenly walks up to them, obviously having overheard all of the talk from further away somehow, without being seen:

The Nykerym looks startled as Lhanir suddenly appears having the whole conversation.

he would adress both.

"I can assure both of you that all our kin here respect the Woods like all Tel´Quessir do. Implying otherwise would be akin to an Insult to my honored kin serving here with me, some of them Druids themselves, but serving the most holy Seldarine of course." He gives Beltaram a slight look of pity himself.

"We are here to protect the People of Shadowdale and to teach them to respect the wilds..."

he turns to Lhanir

"Cousin, intruding uninvited into a conversation without introducing yourself could be considered rude. I do thank you for words though. But dont do this again."

With that he gives both a respectful nod and turns to leave.
