Along The Road Empty
PostSubject: Along The Road   Along The Road EmptySat Mar 07, 2015 1:12 am

Upon adventurer's travels, note would be taken of a caravan group that seems to have taken up camp just inside the area of the Two Forts. About 50 in number, they seem to take up much of the area. If their spoken words are heard, those that recognize the accents could place them as Amnians.

Tents are set up and fires stoked carefully, the guards keeping close watch around them throughout the day and night. They seem very well organized. Two tents in particular seem to be rather important, more armored guards sticking outside of it and patrolling around it with keen eyes.

A few of the members of the camp, likely guards off duty and some merchants that tagged along, make their way to the Old Skull in, buying up some drink and food, relaxing at the fact that they can now relax from their long journey. The Old Skull seems to be hopping with business, and the staff smile at their good fortune made. The travelers don't really talk with any of the citizens nor adventurers, just keep to themselves and relax.

Cruven stares at the new camp in the vicinity of the Hound's Fort and grumbles to himself.

Having taken up residence nearby, Dacius would inspect the camp in passing during one of his patrols. Not keen on speaking to the group 'yet' he was looking for notable banners of nobility or some kind of company.

Valtore having finally returned from his trip to nearby Dwarf Halls would stop buy the merchants. Jiggle his hefty gold sack and ask about what the group is selling. Adjusting his glasses he would wait to inspect the wares.

Imesah attempts to make some small talk with the group at the Old Skull Inn--herself being a native of Amn. Mostly regarding what brings them so far abroad and any interesting news from back home. If rebuffed she'll try to talk to someone else.

There appear to be two different sigils of note around the camp. They are not of nobility, but likely of some sort of mercantile families.

One appears to be a symbol of a piece of parchment, a signature line towards the bottom. One single letter takes up most of the scroll symbol:

Spoiler:

The second family symbol appears to be a large tree, it's branches extending out. In the center is almost like an 'X', but with a saw and an axe.

The merchants all smile wide at the sound of Valtore's gold sack, directing him to the wares they brought with them. There doesn't seem to be any rare items, or anything excessively magical of note. However, there are indeed some items specifically exclusive to the area of Athkatla. Certain ales and wines that are hard to come by along this area seem to have been brought, as well as a number of lovely pieces of jewelry with pearls.

After a few attempts at speaking to random people in the Inn, Imesah can finally find one person that seems rather drunk and happy to talk. When asked what brings them so far, he gives a happy little grin.

He's find a rather beautiful sapphire and pearl necklace that seems a bit overpriced, but still extremely beautiful. The merchant claims he could certainly be able to woo a women twelve times over with such a beautiful piece of jewelry.

Valtore being filthy stinking rich buys the overpriced necklace without haggling. He has it wrapped up and with a grin goes off to find someone whistling a silly tune.

*Seamingly on a random day soon after there arrival, and against her better judgment Ravossel enters the Amn camp.*

*The first thing that would be seen, and give notice to Ravossel is the blue light that seams just to radiate off of her. (( Light color: blue Range: 20m brightness: Bright on a ring.)) The next thing they would see is that her cap and hood is attached to a clerical/monk-like robs. That simple, and pretty plain, other then the fact there woven from pearl white silk, and that there is a holy Symbol of Queen Lurue Sown in pure silver threading over the left breast. Then the last thing would be hay she is a female moon elf.*

* With slow movements, and grace of a feline Ravossel moves from merchant to merchant. Making small talk, asking about what there selling, so forth, but it becomes quite clear she is more interested in there wines, ales, and other such dranks. Then after a bit of time of ideal small talk and so forth, Ravossel starts to inquire about buying a full wagon load of there wines, ales, and other drinks. To be shipped at The Keep of Misty Falls.*

* Using her insight (( wisdom 34 )) slow movements, ideal small talk, the truth full cover of wanting to buy a full wagon load of there exotic drinks, and the hopes that they would be blinded by there own greed. Ravossel tries her best to get a count on there warriors/guards, merchants/venders, workers/slaves, and wagons. All in the hopes of not getting spotted in doing such.*

The merchants seem pretty excited about the prospect of selling a whole wagon of their ales and wines. They speak excitedly with Ravo and work on haggling a price out. It's more than some would pay for a wagon of such goods, but it's not an outrageous price.

Ravo would easily be able to pick out the numbers of those present in the camp, as would anyone else who paid attention and was looking for that information.

There seem to be approximately fifty people there. It looks as though the guards are split rather evenly, half of them wearing the colors of one family, and the other half wearing the other. Eight servants seem to wander the camp, random duties having been assigned to them. Two merchants seem to have traveled along as well, one of them selling the ales and wines, the other jewelry.

Upon finding out OOCly how close the camp actually is Cruven decides to go down for a little chat.

He walks up to the camp with his dog (actual canine not a merc) and looks around at the guards.

"Where's the person in charge o' ye folks, I got a bone ta pick with um."

He'd then just watch the guards, waiting.

By the time the haggling, and energetic event ended, Ravossel's one wagon some how turned into a total of one full wagon, and one half full wagon. Consisting mainly of there ales, wines, and some other Radom assorted things.*

One of the guards grumble-mumbles as Cruven makes his demand. His sigil appears to be from the Vymmars family. Heading into one of the tents, a few moments go by and he comes back out with a lovely woman in fine silks. She appears in her late twenties, greeting him with a smile.

"I've heard there's a problem, sir? What can I do for you?"

She smiles sweetly to Cruven, then looks around. "Well, you see, we're no where near being inside that lovely fort right there. Judging by the walls, I assume that is the line of your territory? Or perhaps I am mistaken. If this is your land, then perhaps it would be a good idea to designate such with yet another wall, or perhaps a sign? Otherwise, as far as myself and anyone else is concerned, this ground beneath our feet belongs to no one. I'm sure that could be debated with the druids of course, though."

A light breeze blows through long locks of blonde hair as a blue eyed woman stands at the edge of the river at Misty Falls. Her robes are regal blue silk with fine embroidery of gold. Bare feet barely protrude from the hem, upon the soft green grass. A stag nibbles on the grass next to her feet, occaisionally licking her skin, resulting in the woman smirking and stroking the creature gently. It seems to enjoy her touch and calmly follows her as she moves.
Upon seeing the wagons approaching, she would place her self in the road so as to meet them.
Seeing the guards with the wagons would concern her, and she would look back to the roof of the Misty Falls Keep and signal her own guards there to come down to her side. It is not clear if they would arrive in time to meet the wagons, but at least they were on the way.
Elektra would quickly ward herself with the spell that pushes towards perfection of mind and body, unifiying her abilities to face the approaching unknown.

Cruven looks at the woman then points at the road a few feet away.

"Tha' road right there marks my property, this side o' tha' road is my land, an having all my land behind a wall aint necessary or wanted. Fer example, yer little camp happens ta be where I take Pike 'ere...."

He'd pat his dog showing who he's talking about.

"Fer his walks an shites... Now, if yer thinkin' ye can freeload off my walls as security as protection, ye best find another place ta set up camp. Frankly I dont know you, an I dont trust you, so I dont want yer men hanging 'round my walls. We're a private merc company so if'n ye want our protection or ta use our land ye best be payin' up."

From afar, and over the course of a few days, the Arch Druidess stood by, observing the movements of those settled in this newly assembled camp, counting heads and contemplating the possibilities of their presence. After having heard the rumors of a specific sigil denoting one of the families as possible lumberjacks, it was decidedly necessary that she would eventually be forced to approach and inquire.

On the third day at dawn, she did. To the first approachable figure, Lhanir introduced herself by her name and indicated curiously to the Axe and Saw sigil, asking for those that would be the leaders of this family that she might have an audience with them.

"I can assure you, it is a matter that needs to be discussed," she added calmly.
