Medical Attention

In light of the recent attack on Shadowdale, Zazieri spends her time split between the ruins of the hospital, attending to the bodies of the deceased, and the House of Plenty, mending the bodies of the living.

Her magic is not instantaneous, but instead focuses entirely on enhancing the natural regeneration of the body to extreme heights - and this involves setting broken bones or fixing dislocated joints and so on before she casts her spells. Likewise, she rarely uses anesthesia, and thus her efforts tend to leave people writhing for a bit, but within several minutes, the wounded would be good as new, if exhausted and terribly hungry or thirsty (as it uses their own energy).

For the dead, she administers Urogalan death rites to any whose family would accept them, and Jergalite rites for the rest.

Eli's body would be among those awaiting their last rites, the holy symbols of Shaundakul and Tempus placed on his chest.

While at the House of Plenty, Wu Ling would come from the back areas of the temple to help Zazieri with the hurt and dead. He isn't very adept at injuries, but would follow Zazieri's Instructions on how to help.

When Zazieri is spending her time at the House of Plenty, she could see Vincent occupying one of the beds there.

For Eliseth, Zazieri spends several long, quiet minutes regarding his body. It was very rare for anyone to be beyond her healing abilities, even when they had passed, but here was one such moment. A humbling moment. Shortly after, the halfling lowers her head and holds out a hand, to offer him the last rites of both Jergal and Urogalan.

Zii decides that she'll spend some time with Redsong soon, and offer them a proper parting.


Wu Ling would be directed towards those of less severe injuries. Zii instructs him to provide comforts to anyone he can; she has no qualms about telling him to clean sheets, fetch new pillows, or even bathe the patients by hand and rag if need be.


Vincent. A stranger to her, though they had met once before. She would first assess his wounds during her rounds, though her methods were less mundane; she had a discomforting habit of staring, and her hands would often roam from wound to wound, as if her palms had eyes with which to show her the gruesome and grim details.

Despite her unfamiliarity with the man, she would be as dedicated to his well-being as to any other. By now, she would already appear somewhat haggard, and she would be spending many a sleepless night at her efforts.

As much as one desired not to get too locally involved, Jeanette Highhille - a dainty copper-haired halfling with a love-it-or-hate-it nasally voice - involves herself. At first she began by simply offering to tend to those that she came across during the aftermath, whilst things remained a chaotic whirl and Shadowdale struggled to manage itself. Once things began flowing towards a more concrete effort by the locals, however, the redhead engages herself to the matter via Zazieri, using her spooky chum's familiarity with the town to overcome Jeanette's own lacking of it.

Jeanette simultaneously attends to the situation with both a professional yet entirely inappropriate conduct. "Laughter's the best bandage" she would often explain after sharing a particularly tasteless joke with one wounded local after another, all in the effort of giving some distraction to doubtlessly distraught minds. While her mouth might run itself off into the land of awful puns and crass humour, her hands - at least - knew their way around the more mundane medical supplies, knowing how to suture, tourniquet and how to combat infections. More importantly, she offered a divine touch. Though it worked best on minor wounds she was nevertheless able to tend to major ones as well, merely at the cost of time that those better experienced than her, perhaps, could bypass entirely.

The pacifistic priestess wouldn't require instruction, but she does co-ordinate her efforts with Zazieri nonetheless so they can reach the best number of people for time and energy spent.

Jonah is seen in the immediate aftermath of the event attending to those evicted from the Hospital. He seems to be concentrating on finding them a new place to stay. He works quickly and efficiently, but doesn't seem to be rushing; each of his patients tend to be as calm and tranquil as can be hoped for.

After things begin to calm, Jonah disappears for a bit, and returns some hours later.

Ivaris is not seen much lately as he works long hours tending to the wounded.  He spends little time outside the temple, he even sleeps there in short naps before once again working with the injured.  If anyone seeks him, he looks tired with bags under his eyes.  His attitude is hopeful even amidst the injured and suffering patients.

The Littlest Walnut wrote:

As she would come to tend Vincent, he'd give a soft and weak smile to her. He'd explain how Sister Anna has done everything to tend to him, and all he needs is some time now to recover from the aftermath, another day and he'll be back on his feet.

Zazieri would help Jonah where she might, between tending the dead and wounded - her magic is not infinite, after all, and shaky, sleep-deprived fingers are little good for suturing or wrapping bandages! She doesn't get in the way, however, and would leave him alone upon request.


Vincent's assurances don't stop Zii from inspecting him anyway. She's thorough, probably to an uncomfortable extent, but the little Rashemi has little sense of privacy and personal space. Once she's personally assured he's well, she would leave him to rest, and if he tried to shoo her away (even politely), she would put her hand on his forehead and vaguely force him to lie down while she worked.

She doesn't say much, however. She's exhausted and has clearly been skipping meals to focus on work.

Wu Ling continues to help Zazieri, and after a while when there isn't a critical need for healing, would pull Zazieri aside and ask her to sit in the gardens with him for an hour so she can recuperate herself. He would explain that she is more useful to the town not over-exhausted. He would also have some food for her.

Wu's efforts seem to be for naught. She'd thank him for the kindness, but she'd excuse herself, because there is still much to be done - and she would recuperate with Ivaris when it was all over!

It seems inevitable that Jonah and Ivaris would run into one another. Jonah would give Ivaris any additional supplies he needed, a brotherly embrace, and words of encouragement:

"Your efforts are humbling, Brother. Take some rest with your darling Zii; Every day needs it's night, after all. Neither of you can do any good if you are too tired to stand..."

Wu Ling sighs, somewhat figuring this was the case. He would invite the injured citizens able to move about to join him in the gardens for meditation, and that it would help their spirits in this time of troubles.

Beyond meditating in the gardens or occasionally going outside for a half hour to see what was happening (and to relax a little from being around the injured, he stays and helps them in the House of Plenty. He seems to be getting the idea of things as he helps them, now working on his own, rather then taking up more of Zazieri's Time.

Meditating in the gardens seems to relax some of the very stressed citizens. They seem very thankful for Wu and his advice in that aspect.

He regards Jonah for a moment before he spills out, "I will have time to rest when I am dead.  There are too many who need my help for me to lie down now.  I will rest when I know people lives are not at stake anymore.  One moment of me resting may be a life lost.  I thank you for your concern but this is my duty and since I could not be here to defend the town I'll be damned if I sit back while it's people suffer and die."

With that he would resume his care of the patients in the temple.

Jonah frowns, bows his head, and returns to his own duties.
