The Cormanthyr on Fire

It was a beautiful summer night.. Selune shining brightly above with a clear starlit sky.

But then, the horizon started to glow with an flickering orange shimmer and shouts of alarm were heard in the City of Song.

"Fire in the Cormanthyr!"

Akh´Velahr soldiers and druids rushed into the forest to battle the blazing fires that had appeared in numerous locations throughout the forest.



They battled the fires and with them the burning undead that had started them. Burning skeletons and floating skulls throwing fireballs at their leisure and setting more and more parts of the ancient forest ablaze.



Still some fires burn in some parts of the forest.. as druids and elves and their allies work to put them out.

The Cormanthyr Forest paid a heavy price this night...and it is appearant it will take years or decades to recover.



In Starwood and Deeper Starwood, the largest number of Undead where encountered... There meteor swarms fell from the sky to fell even the most ancient trees... A force of Myth Drannor elves, Lyons and Ironhouse faced the threat there and defeated the dreaded undead and their mysterious leader.

Ardylan heads to the forest to lend what aid he can. Not being skilled in the use of magic, he instead looks for some kind of "bucket brigade" to transport water to where it is needed.

Many of the Circle members rushed to assist, spreading out in a vast wave to combat the fires, using water and ice spells in a furious attempt to extinguish the destruction and protect the areas that remained untouched.

Ivaris guards any of those working to fight the fires against any bands of undead that might still be left in the forest.  He helps with Ardylans bucket brigade as he works to fight the flames.

Hearing word about the fires and the attack from those at Ironhouse, Maura lends her ability to Create Water to the bucket brigade, hoping to speed up the process. She also offers protection from flames if there is need.

In another area, Elektra , Arran and Ranya come to fight fires and undead the were told about by Malkaris in Shadowdale.
By the time they arrived, much damage was already done, and the three trying to quench fires simply could not keep up ... When it happened...
Undead attacked !
Death Knights, and skeletal warriors came in groups upon the trio. Spells flew... Magic songs were sing ... The blond lady changes to a celestial warrior ...
Undead fell beneath the feet of the trio, yet more came, grinding their teeth and rattling bones.
It was then that something familiar dawned on Elektra... Hellfire!
These undead were empowered by the unique flames of the outer planes!
Terrified for a moment, she half expected to be assaulted by devils, but none came.
Then... A shadow figure rose from the ground ... The winds from the fires blowing its dark robes.
Ranya asked of it if it was with the undead... It answered that undead had some common interests, but not all... And it was the same with men.
The figure mused as it gave the names of two Liches ... Saying that a rivalry existed , and that both had failed ... A clue, it said, that men may use.

The trio discussed the possible meanings and implications... And there were many ...

In the bright light of day several elven soldiers are united, even if not all visible, in the wild preserved areas of Cormanthor, more near to Myth Drannor. Nadin speeches to the assembled arkeryns, nykeryns, other officers and Akh'Velahr near.

- Akh'Velahr, today we are united once more to deal with the prejudice caused by criminals of the past. Most of you fought valiantly against the daemonfey, their allied demons and devils, besides zhentarim and dhaerow scum. But now the enemy went even more far than these criminals, they had the audacity of burn Cormanthor down and suck all life in here, to strenght their undeath lines with the bodies of innocents and our beloved ones. We are the Akh'Velahr, the right arm of our beloved Coronal Ilsevele Miritar, the proud army of Myth Drannor, the bearers of the legacy of ancient times, those responsible for the mightest militar resistance of Faerun history and several other victories. We will show to these ignoble ursupers what means to fight for what we believe, together we shall prevail and teach a definitive lesson to the greed of Druuth and his lacays.

- Arkeryns, you have your orders and in faith I believe we are with the blesses of all good Gods, that we shall prevail. *shouting even more loudly* - By the light of our Gods, for Myth Drannor, for Our Grace and for Cormanthor, we march to victory!

Beltaram could be seen dousing any flames he counters. After clearing an area, he would spend time removing charred lumps of wood and brush with the help of his earth elemental. Little by little he moves through the Starwood dousing flames and clearing brunt remnants.

With a loud cheer and determined grim faces, hundreds of Akh´Vleahr Soldier march forth into the Cormanthyr to battle flames and the undead plague...

A young elven girl ((looks to be about 130)) dressed in green with long light brown hair can be seen walking through the burnt woods. With her is a large brown bear who has a sack on his back. She seems to be sprinkling seeds.
