| First of all, greetings to all the denizens of the Underdark! This is my first post in the forums and I'd like to ask for help from more seasoned players for a character that I would like to play. To put it bluntly, I wish to play a lowly slave, a male drow. I was thinking of a domestic servant, broken and abused by the oppresive Drow society, with tasks ranging from household chores and errands to perhaps bedroom or bathroom assistant. I get that such a character will be hard and not very heroic (not heroic at all ), but I think it can be a fun experience. I have more or less an idea on my mind, but I would like to hear opinions about the topic. I look forward for some replies! | |

| You're gonna have to do a lot of grinding so I recommend following veteran's lead | |

| Typically male Drows are not slaves, servants maybe, but commoner Drow are Shebali. These people are treated as being expendable by the Drow noble houses, but you are a Drow so any other race is below you. Half-Drow male may be more what you are looking for. | |

| Yes drow typically do not take other drow as slaves unless they are a prisoner of another house and the like. | |

| As a general note on slave RP, its recommended you find another player to server as your master. Drow slaves are uncommon but possible. I would recommend posting in the UD ICly putting your character up for auction or something to that effect if you have not met many UD residence yet. | |

I highly recommend this, having someone you can get along with OOC makes the IC portion much better and can make or break your fun.

And even then it is done covertly because it is frowned upon. Really if you want to roll a UD-slave the easiest way is if you go halfdrow or deepgnome. Alternately a surface race like human, halfling, planet touched, yuan-ti or even orc would work too but then you would have to be captured by your future master first before you can be enslaved.

| I guess he doesn't have to be an UD slave though, Zhents might take a drow slave too? That's WAY more difficult to grind through. UD grinding is like walking while on one of those moving walkways sorta things you see in airports. 1-20 in no time flat. | |

| Otherwise, I might suggest indentured servitude. It's kind of the middle ground here. There are several new drow players popping up, myself included. Should be easy enough to find someone to take you in under this premise. Given the fact that you're male, it may simply be that you were the third born and rather than killing you, you were stripped of name and used to settle a debt of the house you're originally from, in which case you'd never find out where you're from. | |
