Queen of Rothe

She should have seen it coming . . .  strange races in Sith Morcaine, acting casually . . .  and goblins carrying empty bags, claiming to be owned by the city and cleaning up the streets . . . who was in charge of this??
   A Gnome named, Xiowin , and Zabu the dreugar, claiming to look for work when it all started. This was all wrong, for sure.
 . . but . .
Things were not as they first seemed at all. The goblins were thieving from the merchants and the odd races actually turned out to be trust worthy.  Oh, she had her suspicions, and basically forced the two to join her in the expedition to seek out this . ..this. .. Queen of Rothe . . who evidently was leading some kind of slave revolt.  What a joke . . warriors of goblins . . .yet. .who would have suspected this? it was so foolish it was almost clever.
   It was easy to get the captured thief slave to confess everything. . . simple as it was, it was amusing.
Dropping it on its head repeatedly into the garbage can was a nice start, the two suspicious Xiowin and Zabu did it on command. But the fire on the toes of the goblin was what did it . .  its silly screams muffled by the barrel its head was still in. Once the identity and location of this Roth Queen was given, Yath Abban Vespa told it what it had earned . ... just one favor and it could go free.
   The Goblin was so agreeable, that Vespa told it " just tell Lolth , when you see her, that i am sorry i could not send a better sacrifice at this time . . .".
    And then . . . the three went into the Bugbear Warren , to seek out this Rothe Queen. The ruse was this . . .that Zab pretend to be leader of our trio, seeking to join the thieve revolt, while Vespa , wearing next to nothing , appear as anything BUT a Yath of Lolth.
     The trio found themselves deep in the Warren, in a cavern filled with ogres, goblins and this . . .what ever she was . . . Queen of Rothe.
    Alas, the ruse went well, but in the end, the Queen of Rothe pitted the new applicants against this drow female they had with them . . . "Chose sides now!", the Queen said," Kill that female or die with her."
   Well, Vespa was not too keen on this idea, and as much as she might long to see Lolth herself, this was just not the way she had hoped it would happen. .so. . .she prepared to burn the entire troop they faced into ashes if she had to . . .and . . soon enough. .she would have to.
   The Queen counted down and the two, Xiowin and Zabu. had not killed the female drow . . . so . ..all in the cavern charged forth in an attempt to . . . to . . .  did not matter really. . . a cloud of blaze fell upon them as Zab and Xiowin hacked away with their axes and bow.
  Once the pile of bodies covered the floor . . . it was expected the lone survivor. .the Queen might be reasonable and confess whether or not she was working with any other, maybe higher. . maybe. smarter. . power . .. but , no ..she attacked !
   After the smoke and the stench cleared a bit. .the three inspected all the stacks and crates of stolen goods the thieves had accumulated.
  Zab commented that this Queen was maybe not the brightest foe in the lands. . . her ashes still bubbling.
   Vespa agreed and when asked, she wrote papers to the two , stating that they had valiantly defended property and lives of Sith Morcaine and illithirii, and that their free passage there should be regarded with less suspicion.
   Back in Sith Morcaine, Vespa reported the stock pile of stolen goods to the merchants who had been cheated, as well as reported the location to the Ulath Yath Taller.

    She mused to herself . . . "army of goblinz . ..ppffft !"
