Another raid on Shadowdale

*Tearon gives her a good look - trying to figure out her allegiance. Not having that much time to spare, he'd then turn around and keep heading towards the surface*

*Taeron emerges from the rubble and rushes towards the hunter and the girl. He checks her for any markings on her body - any signs of leftover spells or any points where anything could be injected into her - especially around her belly*

The drow priestess wasn't mad that we saved her. Not even the slightest. She almost looked happy. We need to figure out why.

The ranger seems surprised to see Taeron catch up to them on the way to Shadowdale, and welcomes him with respect. The state of the girl troubles him, and he gives the girl several potions to drink:

-Potion of Antidote
-Potion of Lesser Restoration
-Potion of Remove Curse

The ranger lastly casts a scroll of Remove Disease on the girl, and takes the common mundane precautions when treating a fever. He applies bandages soaked in water from his canteen to the girl's forehead and temples, changing them regularly, and leaves her with only the basest layer of clothing so that her body can ventilate. He gives her small sips of drinking water at regular intervals.

"This hunter can only do this for the girl. She must struggle to survive, but it would be best to leave her in the care of the temple in Shadowdale to increase her chances. They are knowledgeable in ailments."

He asks Taeron if he was able to slay the she-elf, and what he managed to find and do in his time separated.

You can leave the healing to me. *he stops the hunter from using any precious potions or scrolls*
My patron provides me with plentiful healing prayers. (Taeron can, and would supplement the mentioned potions with his own prayers)

I will take her somewhere safe where I can take a look at her ailment. Perhaps you should warn the people of Shadowdale that the raid was orchestrated by drow. And also - stop any militia members from following the trail we left behind. They might walk into a trap.

*Taeron would then take the girl to the outskirts of the druidic circle where he would continue his healing efforts*

"This hunter will do as you suggest. Do what you must to keep her alive. Mictlali shall go with you, and guard over her."

The ranger talks to the feline for a few moments, and the black jaguar then keeps close to Livia, guarding over her.

Hun-Balam makes his way to Shadowdale as quickly as he can, to report the events that have happened and to do as Taeron suggested. The ranger makes it clear that one of the dark elves perished and that further raids may happen again in time, though the access tunnel to the surface from the Underdark is currently collapsed.

The ranger makes it clear that it was only through the swift action of both Taeron and himself that the girl was recovered as she was about to be sacrificed to the dark gods of the elves, and praises the Lord of the Hunt for allowing swift vengeance on the drow. He answers any questions to the best extent of his ability.

The hunter makes it clear the girl is ill due to the foul arts of the drow, be it poison, disease or curse, and whether she lives or dies is now in the hands of the Gods, Taeron as a healer, and the girl's own will to live. If asked as to the whereabouts of Livia, he says that Taeron took her to a safe place for better treatment, though he did not mention where it was located.

Once done, he makes his way out of Shadowdale and makes his way to follow the trail of Taeron, Mictlali and Livia, with the intent of joining them so as to help taking care of the ill child in any way he can.

*Taeron puts her down on a meadow close to the druidic circle. He sighs when he realizes that he will be forced to "open her" and quickly prepares a salve to calm the woman down and put her into a controlled sleep - so he doesn't have to do it while she is fully conscious. He then takes off his gloves and rubs a paste made of some leaves and roots over his hands.
Focusing on the task at hand, Taeron begins the procedure.*

Mictlali growls menacingly as Taeron begins his atempt to help the girl and crouches on all fours, her tail swishing from side to side... She might be thinking Taeron is harming her after all.

*A feline figure appears a few steps from Taeron, it's eyes locked on Mictlali. It growls - but not in a threatening way.*

*Taeron would nod towards the feline*

White, keep your cousin off my back while I try to do this. I can't be disturbed.

*White responds with a soft purr and slowly walks towards Mictlali, his tail sweeping from left to right*

*Taeron acts with great haste - he puts the gauntlet back on his right arm, while muttering a regeneration prayer and touching the girl with his left hand. With his touch, he delivers the regeneration with the aim to at least offset the damage the spiders are causing. Then he uses a bit more brutal method to grab the spiders one by one, crushing them in his darksteel gauntlet*

*Taeron takes advantage of his heavy field plate armor - crushing the spiders against it if needed. The sight might be somewhat gruesome and not for the faint of heart - a massive bald barbarian with tribal tattoos all over his face seemingly tears through a woman's innards and crushing them in his mighty fists.
Should he manage to clear the spider infestation, he would then use a prayer to cleanse the body of all poison (greater restoration) and check the cavity in her stomach for any eggs or any remains. He wants to make completely sure the woman will have as little permanent damage done to her as possible*

*Taeron wipes the sweat, blood and dead spider goo from his face , making sure she can recognize him. He then tries to speak with a calm-composed voice*

Livia, my name is Taeron. I do not intend to hurt you.
We saved you from a drow raiding party, but they put a curse on you.
I am trying to counter the curse with divine magic, but I will need you to help me. Can you do that?

Mictlali bared her fangs, growled and took a few swipes towards the large white feline, but besides the brief scuffle didn't try too hard to break through, particularly after seeing the spiders. The black jaguar maintained a slight distance and sat put, particularly after Taeron began healing the girl.

Once she regains consciousness Mictlali approaches and stays at her side, purring softly.

*Taeron thinks hard - and tries to think fast. He focuses and gathers what he can about the curse and what he learned about it so far (spellcraft 52)*

The eggs are created by magic. They were not planted into her... It's like a combined curse... So perhaps a combined counter is required...

*he looks at the girl - as she is seemingly in agony and tries one more time - this time he tries to combine a dispelling spell with a prayer that removes curses. He entwines the two to the best of his knowledge and uses his recently acquired knowledge of where exactly the eggs appear inside the woman's body to pinpoint the exact place inside her where the magic is to take hold*

**The girl seems to react well to the prayers and immediately seems to be relieved from pain.**

"Wha-what's Happenin' to me?"

**She begins to sob**

"I...-I.  I FEEEEL THEM INSIDE!!! ARGH!!!! No-Nott agaiN!!!" **Begins to try to forcibly rip through her belly with her bare hands in an attempt to pull out the last spiders while sobbing and looking at the large man pleadingly**

*Taeron quickly sorts through his surgeon kit and takes out a round piece of wood boiled in a potion with numbing and anesthetic effects - one that is used when a patient needs to bite down on something - not to injure himself when feeling tremendous pain*

Bite down on this.

*He hands it to the woman*

This will hurt, but it will save your life.

*With that, the barbarian starts another procedure - similar to the one he did before. He combines healing magic with his surprisingly nimble fingers and starts an operation to save her life and get her rid of the infestation once and for all*

*after the procedure is done, Taeron would sit down next to the girl - tired, covered in blood and spider goo. He looks like he walked through a spider infested nightmare and was the only one who walked out of there alive*

*He lets the girl rest - preferably even to sleep, should she fall asleep from the exhaustion. In that case, Taeron would watch over her while she sleeps - watching her belly and her reactions*

*When she wakes up, Taeron would talk to her - trying to sound supportive:*

I know it feels like you went through hell only to end up alone and miserable. But if I learned anything about Shadowdale, it's that the people there are resilient and hardy.
I am sure the community will welcome you and they will do whatever they can to help you.
