(The letter is found at the Royal Oak sealed and addressed to Follower of the Dark Maiden, written in elvish)
I Falco bare statement here to the events leading up to the loss of your friend Leal'min
I headed towards the Ranger Camp around mid day with wares I need to trade. Ras was there with the company of three.
One at least was human, one was a black hooded elf with a bow and seemed like he was battling a physical illness kind of
like he was dying a slow death. The third I am afraid I do not recall. Might have been a human or an elf. Ras was the only
I knew by name.
I made the trade without a single word being spoken between me and the company. Then when I turned around the hooded
one let go of an arrow that got me in the shoulder. I charged him and Ras joined in the fight. I dropped the hooded one
knocked him out cold. And me and Ras fought for abit. Ras started to lose and the human started aiding him with spells
I knew I couldn't win. I asked Ras why he was attacking me. His response was that I wasn't on his list he had checked. This
did not make a whole lot of sense and I had up to now only thought highly of Ras. I retreated feeling this would not result in
anything good. Ras yelled after me that he was going to make an application for me.
I retired at the Royal Oak in Rimwood. That is where I met Leal'min. She was new to me and I questioned her thinking she
might be a Llothist. I had not spoken to her long before but I could hear the dark maiden in her words. She was very much
a follower of The Dark Maiden and instantly I felt at ease around her. She asked me if I could join her for a walk. She had
this feeling of being at unease. I could not refuse the offer. We walked towards the crossroads, crossed the lumber over to
the Beastmen Field and headed towards the mountain. Before reaching the mountains we made camp in a clearing at the
edge of the Forrest. I was tired from my fighting and asked her to take the first watch. I slept like a baby not a care in the
world. When I awoke evening had fallen and I could hear and argument some distance from the camp.
It was Ras with the same company as before, the hooded one, the human and the third one I dont recall much. The third
one was though holding a bow at Leal'min along side the hooded one. She was trying to convince them that she was of
the Eilistraeean faith but Ras talked about the list again. Said it only contained three names trusted. They argued back and
fourth but I was too tired to pay much attention to it. But battle seemed to draw closer with every passing word. I honestly
did not feel it would serve us in any way to battle them. And I suggested that we would make a run for it cutting down
elves is not something I like doing.
Leal'min agreed with me and we made a run for it. But they all mounted a bow and opened fire. I felt kind of lucky not a
single arrow seem to hit me but when I looked back I could see why. Leal'min had turned back she knew only one of us
could out run the arrows. And like a true Eilistraeeist she cleared the path through the darkness to guide me toward safety.
I could see Ras removing his blade from her stomach. She fell to the ground I looked toward her I wanted to try to rush to
her side. It was too late. She turned her head towards me too weak to speak but I knew the word all to well. ,,Live"
I honored her last word and ran.
