We have the hat model, can we put on goggles and, at the very least, be able to go up topside and see?
Or failing that, maybe make them an item for sale somewhere. Hat with goggle or glasses model: bonus feat Daylight Adaptation -5 spot.

The opposite of night vision goggles?
TBH I'd just take the feat daylight adaption if I were a drow and wished to venture onto surface.

Agreed. Drows are already one of the most powerful races avaliable in the game. Taking one feat isn't asking much.
I hope DMs keep a look out on the surface for the drow who don't have it, and likewise, for the surfacers in the UD who don't have darkvision (dwarves are one of the surface races that naturally have darkvision). There is scarcely any source of light anywhere in the Underdark. If you don't have darkvision or no source of permanent light (which would endanger you by making you more notable), you shouldn't be able to see anything at all, and you would be dead meat.

To be fair, I happen to know for sure that there is a hat that gives a bonus feat: darkvision, because I have seen it on dalelands.

Darkvision on any item does not work and we have no plans of making an item with Daylight Adaption on it. If you want to have it, then you need to spend the feat on it.
