An Archer at the Books Empty
PostSubject: An Archer at the Books   An Archer at the Books EmptyFri Aug 19, 2011 2:20 pm

During the daylight hours when Wythran is off of patrol he can be seen within the archives of Myth Drannor. He continues to find or search for any books which make reference to a black bow. Candles burn down and long undistrubed dust coats his fingers and clothing. He askss question upon question converning his interest, and stays focused on the task at hand with 'his time'.

[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]

He especially focuses on any mention of this bow in archives relating to dwarves or dwarves caugh or seen in the Underdark. His eyes grow heavy at times for he has the intelligence for such a task but perhaps not the skills.

*After the first day spent simply gathering tomes he sends out messages. One addressed to Tyndal, one addressed to Lanius, one addressed to Celorfin, and one addressed to Narindir Jr'ein*

Gentlemen,

Part of the draw of our association is knowing where one's skills end and another's begins. I have spent days accumulating books and tomes that may relate to a subject of mutual interest. At your earliest conveince please feel free to assist me in this endeavor.

*he continues to spend time at the archives sending out letter to the three about reasearch and correspondence. His focus as of late has been on dwarves and their various clans and legends. It seems that at last brush the bow is with a dwarf.*

Whatever the case it must be used by a follower or put back into the hands of clergy until that follower emerges. Its been too long too far gone. Hopefully the wizards three will be able to determine more of it.

*he turns a page or so taking more notes* soon enough we will be able to find it or at least some sort of clue.

*Hebriolad stops in at the Archives; ostensibly to bring Wythran some food and wine, but then lingers around the stalwart and absorbed-in-his-tomes Archer, snooping at the piled notes and perusing the descriptions of venerated weapons of power with a fey glimmer in his eye*

*wythran acknowledges his presence with a nod and simply divides up the tomes continuing to read and make notes. However, there are times at night he is absent, when he returns he has the smell of the forest on him as well as a coppery odor. Reverie is few and far between at present - too much to do.

A few maps of the Underdark can be seen in his notes, noting lost dwarven cities as well as possible routes and paths.

*The Research Continues*

Any passerby will note that Wythran has a number of maps of the Underdark. These maps are usually of dwarven manufacture, complete with runes. Some are marked with particular tidbits with specific information...

words such as: Insane Dwarf, Lost Dwarf, any mention of Khorfar, a Dwarf with a longbow, or completely wiped out dwarven families by drow. A few letters to the Ironhouse clan have begun and then fallen off. Any dwarven mention of the dark court slaughter as well.

Occassionally Hebriolad when the off time strikes him might point out some piece of information or drag him away on some sort of patrol.

*Hebriolad sits quietly in a chair nursing a rather acidic Wood Elf vintage, having slowly drifted away from Wythran's dedicated search through histories, maps of subterranean environments, and personal grimoires into a minor facet of the investigation- namely the lore surrounding Weapons of Power. Realizing he is only getting in the way he makes sure to avoid breaking Wythran's concentration and simply relaxes with the tomes of knowledge heaped around him like chapbooks, though he is stunned into cooing appreciation after reading a certain passage of Wythran's notes*

*in Wythran's script*
[from Weapon of the Seldarine -3566]

If Dhaerow come within the range of the bow's senses, its whispers(audible only to the wielder) become more frequent and angry, speaking of terrible vengeance on all dark elves.

...This is thought to be related to Omen magic(ref: Midwinter Night), and thus is considered to Divinely miraculous in nature although the whether the voice is related to the Veneration of Sheverash or the Seldarine as a whole has been called into question.

*he sits pondering writing notes and maps an occassional observer notes that he writes in the margins occassionally. One theme sseems to be reoccuring time and time again. "The Bow needs to be Returned to the Church. No one Elf should wield the bow, it should be at the church until a champion appears."

Its written sometimes by itself, and sometimes in the middle of a sentence almost like his subconcious mind is spilling out.

After a number of days spent researching in his "off" hours Wythran comes across a piece of manuscript that perplexes him. He ponders on it for many hours...and takes some general notes.

Shevarash has Endorsed the 'Cease Fire'....

Peaceful interaction *underlined*

Would these be at odds?

Purity of Enmity: Echoing the tale of Valaderion and Kiralasha, you have to travel to the ruins of the temple where Valaderion died, which are located in the heart of a primeval forest. There you must perform a three-day ritual of meditation and purification. If you have had any peaceful interaction with a dark elf within the past six months, this ritual automatically fails.
