Memories Of The Shattered

After having had a series of conversations with Huron, staying around Myth Drannor more than usual due to his new work with the Defenders, Tohrm would notice Hurons mood as he visited the inn from time to time, occasionally he would offer him a nod but, whether he recieved a reply or not was a different matter.

Eventually he took the time one morning to grab a drink, seating himself on the opposite side of the table to Huron, his gaze kept to the table, not searching Huron for any hidden emotions or answers as he would usually do with someone, just sitting and taking a drink, waiting to see whether him simply being there to listen would coax something out of Huron.

He listened to Hurons musings, and as he looked to him blankly, asking that final question, Tohrm gave a plaintive shrug and nursed his mug a moment, then drained the last of it off, measuring his gaze back to his, levelled and almost unblinking, he replied in as much a contemplaitive tone.

"What's one willin' t' do t' forget, or move on? Keep one eye behind ya, ya lose half ya sight... both eyes on whats ahead an' ya forget who ya are. Somethin's should stay buried, others need t' be pulled up t' be left in peace. Ya tell me, yer want t' go gravediggin'?"

He couldn't help but smile at Hurons use of words, the way he spoke and the ambiguity. Then the significance of the gem, surely there was meaning behind that? Or maybe not, another of Hurons differentiating metaphors to simply amuse him. But it seemed to Tohrm, there was something more than just part of that gem missing. His eyes gradually drifted from it, back to Huron, wearing a now faint grin as he spoke.

"We are looking to dig at? Oh well, I've been conscripted int' another of yer little escapades... le's see then... 'cos maybe someone'll have to show you where it is... or we've got hells of a lot of lookin' t' do. Wher'd we start? What perspective are ya gunna have t' reacquaint yerself with, an'... most importantly... what is it yer hopin' t' find?"
