Researching "Mauve Death..."

With a blood sample from Helen Falkheart, shortly before she was healed, and Rowan Willown, the tiny teacher Mai Aylo - also known as an alchemist specialized in toxins - has taken to studying the so-called plague. Seeing the symptoms first-hand and being quite learned with all manner of volatile substances, she is racking her mind and books for anything that may match the symptoms she regarded. With the smallest, most careful of doses, she would even apply the 'plague' to unfortunate rats... and even a goblin she caught sleeping beneath the barn, to determine if victims must be sentient or not, due to rumors of it being a curse.

Though she lacks training in magic, her nearly-eidetic memory would serve her as she compares symptoms and writes down various theories.
