Mysterious Notices In Myth Drannor

*Notices are put up around Myth Drannor in the dead of night, written in shimmery blue ink that may look familiar to some people.*

Quote :

Dearest Readers,

It pains me to come to the realization that I may have been wrong about this city's resolve to win the fight against the Zhentarim. I, apparently, was wrong to think that this city could do anything without me. No longer are we facing only the Zhentarim and other simple sundry threats, but an alliance of the Zhentarim, the Shadovar, the Malarites, and the Vhaerunites.

This failure is shameful.

The inaction of this city and its leaders cost us valuable time. Now instead of striking at one entity, we must strike at the collective power of four entities. If you are wondering what that sinking feeling you have in your stomach is, that is called an impending sense of doom. Foolishness has put this city in great peril, and unless immediate steps are taken to right this wrong, Myth Drannor will crumble.

There are a scarce few remaining in and around this decadent city that know how to resist and know how to fight oppression. I suggest the lot of you seek them out and beg them for assistance. Otherwise, you will be begging a Zhent or a Sharran for your life instead.

Note that I do not write to threaten or intimidate you. I write to alert you to the grave dangers that you, as citizens of this fair city, face in your near future. The personal stake I have in this affair is minimal, and I can assure you that I will be long gone when the proverbial cow manure hits the windmill. I have been ignored in the past, and truth be told I fully expect to be ignored now and in the future. I have tried to stir this city into action time and time again, and yet still nothing happens.

At this rate, Myth Drannor's own citizens will be defecting to join the Zhentarim army under a guarantee that they and their loved ones will live. It is a hope that Myth Drannor cannot provide.

Elijah walks up to the message, reads it and stares unblinkingly at it for a long moment. His face, creased with sadness in recent times, seems to grow sadder still.

He walks back to the temple of Lathander, picks up a broom and begins sweeping the courtyard. The fallen leaves swirl with each sweep, only to settle again, before another sweep comes. Yet again they swirl into the air briefly before falling into another momentary respite. And another sweep comes...

The sun soon sets in the distance amidst the echoes of a broom scrubbing the cobblestones since morn.

*Karovir puts a response under the notice* Dear complaining citizen or visitor,
Evil allies with Evil to fight us. I don't see a way Myth Drannor could have prevent it unless they ally with Evil themselves but that won't happen. If you don't like how the people who risk their lives on behalf of the city do their job then no one holds you here. Feel free to go to a place which you like more.

*Julia sees the Notice, reads it carefully, meditates a bit and let a comment scape.*

Yeah, good old days when our actions had support... nice to see that more people share my concerns, an answer to my daily preaching and prayers to renew my hope.

*Returns to the Shrine to her duties.*

Shula' posts note under the above notice.

"Empires rise, and they fall. It takes extraordinary people to truly destroy, or create something. Even once it had been created, it only lasts for so long.

Arynal'altha seems almost amused as she reads this, "Then leave.. All Tel'Quessir are welcome to Evermeet. No need to die among the remnants of this realm." She mutters to herself, taking a sip of her Evermead as she lounges around the inn.



Kirala, on the other hand, just sighs as the notice finds its way to her at the temple. "..Would tha' I could do more. But yer nay 'elp either if'n yer gonna leave, coward.." The knight spends the next while awkwardly swinging a longsword against a training dummy, as if she wants to get rid of all the doubts that the words might have given rise to by violent expression.

*twirls his bow walking across the grounds of Myth Drannor he comes across the posting and smirks*

Hells, its about damn time someone spoke up.

*looks down below at the other comments and shakes his head*

*taking out a quill he begins to write in a crooked form of handwriting*

Dear Sir,

While the others may tend to condemn you for your call to rid the lands of the Zhentarim, I wholeheartedly support the endeavor. Unfortunately we are a shattered group that still opposes them; where once we had an admirable leader there is not a single person left that is able to unite everyone against the "Quadra-unity of Evil". Efforts will always be made on the parts of some of us who risk our lives and brave the dangers of the Silent War. Never lose hope. Never stop looking. We are still here. We are still fighting.

As to the others. Give up and run? If you don't like cowardice then leave? Our kin have already watched the fall of our cities once with a great loss of life. And yet you promote disunity and abandonment once we have acquired again what was once ours? We have put so much effort in to restoring the ancient city of Myth Drannor, and instead you tell us to sit on our hands or leave? It is shameful. Defend the city? When was the last time there was an assault inside the mythal barrier? Sitting inside the city is not where the danger lies. Patrol the borderlands where the "Quadra-Unity of Evil" snatches up and harasses the citizens of Myth Drannor and perhaps then we will give you praise for your "defense".

These are our lands, and we will not leave. If you are not with us...then step aside. Because abandoning our lands and hope...is simply not an option.
