Obsidian Ravens Exploration Guide to the Underdark

Hello and welcome to the Dalelands, I hope you have as much fun here as I have! This is a very short and very basic guide intended for players who are new to the sever or just having a hard time levelling up, in this guide you’ll find out where to level up the Underdark, as well what you might need to survive the horrors that await you!

So you have just made a brand new character and selected the Refuge Camp as your starting place and teleport down, these are the kinds of reactions you might encounter from the Drow, depending on what race and class you are playing as.

Drow Female ~Cleric, Favoured Soul~: Mild Respect/caution, but they will be watching you, waiting for you to slip up, and waiting for any signs of weakness to exploit.

Drow Female ~Arcane Spell Caster~ Mild amusement, they will be watching you, waiting for you to slip up, waiting for any signs of weakness to exploit.

Drow Female ~Any other class~ They will be watching you, waiting for you to slip up, waiting for any signs of weakness to exploit.

Drow Male: ~Cleric~ unless you are playing a Cleric of the Champion of Lolth, it would be best to keep the fact you are a heretic too yourself, even if you are playing a cleric of the Champion of lolth, you will be watched, intently. (Note, Lolth does not accept males as clerics)

Drow Male: ~Spellcaster~ Perhaps mild respect and curiosity, but they will be watching you, waiting for you to slip up, and waiting for any signs of weakness to exploit.

Drow Male ~Any other class~ They will be watching you, waiting for you to slip up, waiting for any signs of weakness to exploit.

Any other race: ~Any Class~ Chances are, you will be enslaved, you might be able to become a Merc that works for another Drow, but I would advise you arrange such a thing oocly with the other player first before entering game for the first time.

Into the Game we go!
Step One: NPC’s, Rest Points and handy things too know about Camp.

Spoiler:

You will appear in the Dabel’kith part of Camp beside a campfire next to a big red tent, you can rest here as well as the fire place near the Zau’afin part of the camp.
Spoiler:

In front of you is the Temple of Lolth, Normally wondering around it is the High Priestess, you can speak to her about healing yourself of ability damage, curses and anything that normal rest can does not heal, she also allows you to revive friends, to revive a fallen friend, dump their body on the floor, then buy a raise dead token form her, then go into your backpack, activate the token and then click the body of your friend too revive them.

Across from the alter and near the Zau’afin area is the Slave Mistress, here you can buy pets.

Spoiler:

Directly opposite her is the banking npc, you can store items here however it costs five hundred cold each time you use the bank.

Spoiler:

To the Right of him you will find the auction house, be sure to buy your magical items from here as you will likely be able to get them a lot cheaper than if you brought them from the shop. Next to her is the Shared Account Banker, this is where you can if you want make gold donations too factions on the sever.

Spoiler:

And lastly the two merchants, the male merchant offers the best prices when you are selling things, he also has a very nice ring you will want to buy called the Ring of Health, buy two of these, and then buy as many +1 healing kits as you are able too, equip your new rings, then go rest up to get too full health.

Spoiler:

The female merchant near the beetle cave sells some pretty cool items that you can save up for, in example the Ladies Kiss which allows regeneration, but more importantly she allows access to the Camps crafting areas for a small sum of 100 gold.

Spoiler:

So now you know all of the npcs lets go and explore the Beetle Cave next to the one handed mage shop lady.

Spoiler:

The Beetles have 6hp ^^ their dmg range from 1 to 5 (with some crits at 7.) It takes 110 beetles to reach lvl 2, 103 for lvl 3, and 263 for lvl 4 (solo). If you are a mage or a rouge or anything else with a low amount of hit points I would recommend you stay here and kill things until you are level 3 and be sure to loot the bodies as they do drop magical gear and other very valuable things, as well as beetle meat, which you can collect and hand in too the barmaid behind the male shop keeper for 5 gold per bit of meat! You will be collecting.... a lot of meat....
