Free Haven Slave Trade

The old man walks slowly through the streets of Free Haven walking with purpose he carries a satchel and a determined look on his hidden visage. He walks directly to the slave trader's block and asks to see the head auctioneer, as he waits he goes through the papers in his satchel, all of them showing descriptions of various new slaves that his people now hold all thinking they are awaiting a grand new life of adventure, all unknowing that they will be sold as "merchandise" they sit at a ware house thinking that the locks and guards are for their protection against the orc raiders, " fools!" the old man whispers to himself, "all thinking they will fight side by side with the zhentarim! All thinking they will share in the glory of saving some town they have heard so many tales of, all soon to fill the coffers and buy us acceptance into another city, twenty and three who will soon feel the power of the lie and despair!" He shifts the hidden throwing daggers in the holsters at his back and sits. He patiently awaits the auctioneer and and figures that with the strife and discord filling the Dales how he and his followers can easily grab more merchandise to sell here from the refugees that are fleeing the orc attacks.

He sits patiently and muses on how best to make it seem like the work of others......

A distinguished gentleman, in a blue suit and grey hat, approaches the old man. He takes off his hat, and runs a hand through his hair before speaking with a grin.

"We have a wide range of stock, and can always... acquire more. If you have coin enough, that is. Tell me what you seek, and I am sure we can come to an equitable arrangement."

The old man smiles and extends his hand. " I've come with some stock you might be interested in and as of right now my folk are bringing yet more merchandise to sell, if you are interested we can bring them here or you can come and see our stock at our warehouse."
the old man thinks about the shadowy men he sent out with his dark gods blessing to bring in as many refugees as can be waylaid on the road. sending them to various hidden basements specially remodeled for the express purpose of holding slaves, each is well equipped with shackles and a brazier that continuously burns powerful drugs to keep the stock docile.

" I have twenty and three in hand and more to come, I'll have an exact number within a few days time, if you be interested then we can discuss price for the others on delivery but for now let's see how these I have at the main warehouse do, for now let us discuss an arrangement to auction off the first lot, could you tell me about the auction and how much your commission is? I would like to sell them in bundles but understand if it would be easiest to sell them individually" he hands the scrolls detailing the slaves, what their race, former occupation, age and gender, as well as some drawings detailing their physical attractiveness and any talents and knowledge they have, all of this was done by the poor slaves, thinking they were signing on to an adventuring band of treasure seekers and mercenaries, they are all inexperienced and young and will be drugged before delivery to the slave market.
" you may have to break them yourself, but for an additional payment we could do that for you...." the old man explains the torture and crushing of their spirits the way one would ask to pass the salt, he smiles and crosses his legs and folds his hands on top of his knee.

A tall man walks by, and stops to listen as to the conversation. He would look the slaves up and down, taking a measure of their sizes. He smirks, and walks up to the distinguished gentleman in a blue suit and grey hat.

As his feet move, his long green cloak swept aside and the hilt of an enormous sword is revealed in its scabbard. Out of the cloak he pulls a thick heavy pouch, rattling with coins.

"Hmm.. can i have a look at that list of yours?"


His voice is deep, but yet its filled slightly with amusement, as he looks at the poor souls.

"I would be most interested in slaves with any construction skills. Strong men who's able to work with both wood and stone for long hours. And i would require someone who can read and write - more than one, to be frankly. And some one who can cook, clean and do house hold duties... "

He smacks his lips, and rests his hand on the hilt of his sword

Leckter looks to the new-comer then back to the auctioneer, " it seems my wares will move quickly indeed! for this fellow seems to be in quite the rush to buy my wares, so shall we speak further and let us see if we can't move my wares? this lot is good, and I have many more on the way." Leckter smiles his best "kindly old man" smile and listens intently.

Lan nods. He eyes the old man up and down, before he offers his hand.

Lan. Perhaps we should find a more private place to discuss the matters?

He makes a vague gesture further into town.

/// Leckter is usually in disguise when on any sort of evil mission, often wearing a hood with mask or just changing into a workman's outfit or a merchant's robes and turban with some facial coverings in order to keep his face from being seen or because of his use of the domain of illusion he simply uses an orison to disguise some minor features of his face and build. in this case I would assume he is wearing his merchant's outfit and a mask to cover his upper face, and perhaps some minor illusion to cover the scar that goes down his cheek and chin.

"we, 'ave many good slave 'ere fer all tastes, we go' several young lasses tha'd make fine pleasure slaves, an' many strong lads fer farm work, also go' some young'uns tha'd make good house slaves fer th' doin' o'household chores an' service" Leckter smiles " an' me prices be very reasonable, an' me stock all be kept in fine form, no' a sickly one among 'em!"

A small female tiefling with a long whipy tail, feline like eyes pointy half elf like ears with long blood red hair wonders over with a slyness in her eyes and a preditory smile upon her lips, she was wearing black leather armor, on her left hip she wore a bull whip and a kukri, upon her right hip was branding iron and a master work anti magic manicals. "Mmm, got anything exotic in stock? New in the area and seeking employment, and what better way to find employment is there than to publicly brake a slave before molding it to the crowds whims! Yes I do so love my Job."

*A short and robust lady in blue with full hooded mask takes time to observe the slave trade dealings at least daily... leaning against a far wall across the town center and mostly draped in shadow. She keeps a watchful eye on who buys, who sells, who is bought and sold, and on the one that appears to be the ring leader. If noticed or approached even one step she quietly moves on.*

The Old Man smiles," I'd be happy te discuss me wares wi' ye, an' I'd happily go somewhar' we kin go an' discuss a mutually beneficial arrangment" he adjusts his head wrapping and fixes his sleeves of the voluminous robes he is wearing, he smiles to the new comer " well lass I'd be happy te see if'n wha' I go' in stock would meet yer discerning tastes perhaps it would be best tha' I take yer orders an' see wha'my people kin find" he looks over to the auction master "and dun' ye worry none, I 'ave plenty o' stock fer all." he smiles " though if'n any o' ye kin guarantee a steady business relationship I'd be happy te discuss further arrangements"

The small Slave Braker would shrug softly. "whatever the crowd might enjoy watching of handle, actually, I have a better idea, how about I work for you? Im skilled at catching and training, I can turn anyone into a Patrons Dream slave, personaltly programing, behavior correction, profession training. Yes I really an that good." She would say with a cheeky grin before before adding. "Employ me, you know you want too!"

"well, then, I have some new stock that I need to have trained, per'pas we kin seee wha' ye kin do weith them?" if the tiefling agrees he takes her to a hidden cellar where a woman and 4 children are chained and shackled to the floor, "Let's see wha' ye kin do" ( this is of course after he has dealt with the others and gotten some privacy)

A very tall man dressed in grey approaches the slave pens. He has a detatched look about him. When asked about his business he just inquires about the cost of a few female slaves that he could purchase. He is looking for 4-6 young women who will do as instructed without back talk, and will be loyal to thier new owner. They need to be pretty enough to sell themselves on the street.

the old man gives a pleasant smile and tells the tall man he has a wide selection from all corners of Faerun and if the new slave breaker works out he shall have some of the most compliant pleasure slaves he has ever had the -ahem- pleasure of owning

*the stanger nods* good, Let me know as soon as they are ready. If they satisfy my desires, I'll pay well.

the old man smiles and nods" I'm quite sure ye'll find me stock te be some o' th' finest why even the thayans tend te praise me stock when they come te look over some o' local buyer's an' seller's wares, yes sir, ye won't be disappointed"

Lan looks over the different "wares", before he turns to the old man again.

"As i said, i would be interested in buying a rather large quantity of slaves, given we can agree upon a price, and that they meet my requirements".

He takes up a piece of paper, checking the list

"I would be most interested in slaves with any construction and engineering skills. Strong men who's able to work with both wood and stone for long hours, young age is preferred.

Second, im looking for a someone with education of sort. Must able to read and write, and do simple math. If you can find someone among your stock that have any secretary experience, i would find it most... pleasing. Third, i need a good cook.

How much would you estimate five-six workers, two scholars, and one chef would cost?"
