Visit from the darkness below

It seems drow are becoming popular sight in Free Haven lately, as another one walks to the streets of it a male one.
He seems to be taller than most of his kin and although he is covered from neck to feet with his heavy armor and wearing a battle mask hiding his face, his white hair are free and uncovered making his intedity clear to those that will spent some time to examine him.
The drow male will not make any effort to hide his heritange, unless it will be asked by the local guards, mostly talking to merchants and slavers trying to come in direct contact with the Thayans, those with underdark lore of the camp, will recognise the Dabel'kith isignia to his armor.

The male drow continue his little venture as noone seem to bother with his presence for now. As he steps from the local inn the next cycle suprising for him, he meets the company of another male drow the one he knows as Naradril Zau'fin with the company of a duergar uknown to him.
After he exchange some few words with them learning that even the Weaponmaster of his Quellar is around he continue his way a bit suprised from the news.





After a while he finds his way to the local crafting guild meeting a gnome at the office of it, he exchanges few words with the gnome asking if the Thayans running this guild hall and where he can meet them, the gnome as usual irritating for his tastes talk and talk, tempting him to jump above the bench and grab it from its neck, nevertheless he waits patiently waiting to see if he will manage to take any leads from that stupit gnome.

The gnome would most likely reply indignantly or evasively to any insinuation that the guild is run by the Thayans, insisting that it is a service for the whole community of Freehaven. He does mention, however, that an Academy of the arcane has been using the hall as a base for their school until their own facilities are built.

The male drow continue his ventures on Free Haven trying a different aproach this cycle.
Firstly he is visiting the Horn's tavern and gamble a bit trying to "blend" with the locals, he even remove his mask having some drinks and loosing on purpose couple of thousand of golds so be easier to him to talk with the locals to ask them about the Thayan's rulling over the city and whom is the local head of them and how someone can speak to him.



Later he learn of another tavern and inn at the same time the Honculus and visit there as well finding a Thayan restaurant, considering here he will have more chances to meet more Thayans, he rents a room and spents the rest of the day at the restaurant trying the local drinks and food and talking to the slaves serving him, about their masters and how he can contact the leading Thayan of this enclave.

((A few things i'll clarify..

The Thayans do not rule Freehaven. They have brought alot of wealth to Freehaven and provide the security of the settlement so everyone goes by their own business.

If your character asks around he/she may find out that most thayan trader activity is in and around the Dancing humonculus hotel. They rarily show themselfs outside the Dancing humonculus other than to attend counsil meetings.

Though Red Wizzards are rumoured to be behind the whole operation from day one, none has been seen among the ranks of the Thayan traders. Headmistress Zaldra is a wildly rumoured to be a red wizzard but any proof of that is missing. And since no one interfears with other people's business, there isnt much of an inquiry on the background of Headmistress Zaldra in any way.

This is Freehaven Lore myself and DM Nighthunter gave to the DM team a week prior to 03/10/2012 which is the day I stepped down as a builder due to circumstances at the time. I am currently not on Freehaven (yet) so the Freehaven DM's may have changed some things and i'm unaware. Please take this as 3/10/2012 lore


I am however not so sure of Lothite Drow of well known Lothite houses can just run around without someone calling the powers that be to keep the peace. It's highly unusual for non-surface drow to show up in Freehaven. But I can't make a call on that. Just be carefull ICly. =)

Though out his entire stay there, he would get this unnerving feeling, that his was being watched the entire time, be it the begger children he pass's the merchants he passes, their eyes seemed to follow him with a freakish unison that would back the hairs on the back of his neck stick up and his gut screaming at him danger was near....

Almost a week have pass since the male drow have visit Free Haven, having not much more time till return to his duties and realising he is not so welcome to stay here forever he decides to make his final move and achieve a contact.
He realises that most of the Thayans are at the inn and their restoraunt, so at the next meal time he asks from the female slave attending the tables to bring him a contact with their traders, he wish to know what the thayans can provide in weaponry, magical items or potions that can aid fight undead and fire giants, and lastly the number and kind of slaves they can trade with him.
He will ask for some samples (paying for them) to take them with him and present them to the females of his house, asking in what numbers Thayans can provide such and how much it will cost if they are willing to proceed to the deal.

It seems the male drow doesnt manage to do much things and leaves emtpy-handed from the enclave, he is making sure to make his departure known and easily seen since it was obvious he wasnt welcome to the place and watched constnatly.
