a hole in the ground by the Waterfall.

those passing or resting near the waterfall in Deeper Starwood might notice a recent excavation between two boulders.
it seems someone used a pickaxe to dig up a hole in the frozen ground about one foot by four or five feet.. not very deep, maybe two or three feet.
The hole is empty it seems.

Karovir would patrol through the woods and notice the hole and grumbles: "Great, someone defiled a nice piece of landscape. At least it is a good place to dig your own grave..."

Later aware about the finding Nadin would go there check

- Fine, I suppose this means nothing, but the last time a strange hole appeared eleven children were killed.

Pausing to take some breath and check the sky thoughtfull, he attempts to detect magic residues, after this he picks four strips of ivory and set them over the hole forming a rectangle, then he lights an expensive and exotic incense, concentrating deeply and casts a legend lore spell.

After casting the spell Nadin would hear a rhyme faintly in his head

"a place of rest was here before,
though no one resting here, is no more."

Nadin would close the hole and look for Karovir

- My friend, regarding an unusual hole in deeper starwood between two boulders, that I suppose you looked, of course. I decided search magically for clues and I had an unexpected answer, it seems someone or something that was buried there is no more...

"That is how I understood the rhyme, too. I hope that doesn't have to do with some fool necromancy but it kind of sounds like it."

- There is another thing, just a guess, but, the ground was frozen, and I suppose the body was burried in the frozen ground what explains why it was not a deep hole too. I would not doubt this person or thing was dead not so long, how much long can someone be ressurected after death? Cause I think unlikely someone would bother go there for a simple body without importance... I wonder who was buried there. I fear this can be trouble.

Karovir shrugs: "Many questions but I have no answer. My skills are useless here once again. You could try bringing a priest here. Else I simply don't know."

- A good suggestion, I'll do this.

In the same day Nadin visits the temple leaving a message to the mathor-selmiira, describing meticulously all that was discovered, including the rhyme, and the exact location digged. After this he informs Karovir and adds.

- Now we can wait, if we are necessary we will know soon, certainly.

At a late hour Tay'lin would leave the gates of the city, her city.
She would follow the clues and rumours that were spread about the odd hole.
Tay'lin would look for a while trying to find that darn hole everyone were speaking of.
When finding it she would stand and examine it for a while, studying it as much as she can. Her first instinct would be to look inside and summon the divine power contained within her soul, but then she will refuse. "No..I am not theirs any more..I must relay on my own skill and not on theirs..". She will calm herself down again and will attempt to concentrate on the current matter rather her own personal affairs.
Refusing taking any more power or help from the gods she would investigate the area with her own skill and knowledge.

Determined to prove herself that she can do just as well without the gods and guided by a a will of flaming ego she would first approach the area carefully, looking for tracks of those who came and left. Knowing Karovir and Nadin has been here she will expect to see their foot marking as well and would try to identify them from the rest by watching which of the steps leading towards Myth Drannor and also by knowing them and their feet seize more or less. She will look for any odd marking leading towards the forest or another hideout mostly. (Survival 35)

After making sure she did not spoil any prints she will try to get a general idea of who came here and when did they leave. If she will indeed find anything she will simply mark it and will leave it for later to follow.

Tay'lin will approach the whole now after she is certain she can't find anything else in the dirt. Her eyes are not so keened but she is skilled and educated. She will begin with a brief search (Search roll 26) looking at the cracks within the rock. She would try to determine if it was shattered by a weapon or a spell (if so maybe a general idea of the weapon). She will then look for any remains inside the rock, any kind of tissues or remains left behind maybe even an odd smell or remains of a cocoon, wood or a piece of an egg.

Finishing the dirty work she will look back to see that no one is around her with suspicious eyes, not wanting to be seen.

She would sit peacefully then getting attuned with the environment around her. She would listen to the weave silently and peacefully, trying to detect any odd source of magic (Spellcraft 58! ^^ )
After she would be certain nothing more can be found a glimpse of thought about using the true seeing spell crossed through her mind but she will curse in a low voice and would spit on the ground, refusing to do so also in a price of failure.
At last she will sit down and would attempt to conclude everything she had studied, being proud of herself and her own skills (Lore 46)

After discovering what she had she would not tell anyone anything before thinking hard and long about her findings.

It would take Taylin some time but she would finally notice that the big human Karovir didnt make all those big deep tracks alone.. there are three sets of deep tracks about the size of Karovirs.. only one seem to belong to him. All tracks come from and lead to Myth Drannor and end at the bridge of the Forest Ruin Fortress. Two set of tracks are older than the ones made by Karovir and Nadin.

when she examines the hole she will be fairly certain someting like a pickaxe has been used to open the frozen ground. She would also find some strands of blond long hair, some almost rotten fragments of a robe or cloak maybe and a piece of almost totally rotten leather strap.

The rocks themselves seem unharmed and unblemished by any outside force.

She would not feel any magic at work on the area.

She will gather the clues she had found with a tongs like object into a leather sack.
She will start walking to the city quickly looking inside the sack when she enters the Mythal limits.
Tay'lin will try to find the high mage as fast as she could to scry the objects. Understanding that whatever came out of there is among her people she would be quite demanding about seeing him.

After sometime, Tay'lin finally manages to find the high mage at the outskirts of the city, near the ruins.
He beams a broad smile as he sees her
"Ha! What a welcome sight! I dont get to see you very often Arms Major.
What brings you here?"

"Where have you been High Mage!? I have been looking for you all over the place!" Tay'lin would rain down her feminine wrath upon Araevin like only a woman could do.
"When the Arms Major requires to see the High Mage she should not have that much trouble!"

She would take few seconds to calm herself down, expecting apology in the high mages eyes and would continue
"..Anyway.. *She would start to tell him what she had seen. She would tell him about the rumors of an open tomb passed in the barracks and of her persistent investigation. She would show him the findings in her small leather sack* As far as I know, the thing that came out of there and those who helped it out came into the City..or at least in it's direction. I would like to know who they are before they know who I am. Can you scry these for me?"

Hmmm, what do we have stirring here! With concern of others being in the area, the nameless one quickly swallows a potion.

Areavin slightly purses his lips in Amusement as Tay´lin berates him
"having a hard time lately mmh? I was actually investigating some things in the Ruins.. but never mind"

He would give Tay´lin a disarming smile and take a look at the things she brought him
"if these remnants belong to a corpse.. then i cant scry it.. i cannot scry a corpse. Scrying only works on a creature, Arms Major."
He pauses and thinks for a moment... "mmh, if someone brought a corpse into the city it should have been noticed no? Unless they brought it in little pieces..."

*Araevin's attitude seems to calm Tay'in quite well*

Why would anyone bring a corpse into the city...This is all very concerning.
Are you sure you can't make anything from this blond piece of hair as well? It might have beloged to the one or ones who dug this thing out.

He takes the things she collected and takes a look at the long bond hair.
"Well.. its worth a try. But dont hurt me if it doenst work" he grins at her and gives her a wink.
"Now let us go somewhere else. Ill not perform a scrying right here on the street."
