Karovir has been seen less patrolling in and around Myth Drannor or on official duty at all recently. Instead people who would visit the refugees often might have seen him visiting refugees and talking to the ones who are not working on the farms or doing any important work at all. He asks the refugees he talked to to gather at some free spot not far away from the farmlands where he put up some dummies made of wood and straw.

After some time he distributes weapons made of wood which are used for training amongst some of the refugees while he is watching and giving instructions about how to hold a weapon or and wield it correctly. He also has been seen talking to inactive or bored guards asking them to go there and train the refugees. Also older refugees who have military experience or know how to fight with a weapon were asked to continue the training if Karovir isn't there.

Karovir allows them to join and hands them some wooden weapons then tries to find out how experienced they are already. He would nod to Stang: "I hope you made any progress since last time I saw you train."
Based on their skill he gives them different practices. Though he is a strict and grim teacher he tells them all clearly that his aim is to give them the ability to either get their old homes back or defend their new home.

Nadin will join Karovir checking how they are progressing, he will correct balances, stances, and select those more apt to intensive training, informing Karovir. Being trained in all the basics of a fighter style, the elf will feel no difficult to help with the untrained refugies lack of style.
He will coment with Karovir:

Give a fish and he will eat well for a night, teach him to fish and he will no more be famine.
My honor to help sir.

The training continues even if Karovir hasn't been at the training ground as often anymore he still visits them regularly and makes sure there is always someone there to watch over the refugees and teach them.
One day he came with a sack full of vials filled with holy water and starts distributing it amongst them telling them it is always good to have some of those with you and how they can be used against undead or to put it on graves and such to prevent evil from desecrating them.
He also tries to determine the strengths of everyone and help them to improve them or send them to one of the trainers who is more skilled in that. Some he may even send to Zulon's school not necessarily to improve their combat skills but rather improve their mind.

The next times when Karovir visits the training ground recently he changes the lessons slightly. It seems that he now focuses the training a bit more on fighting all sorts of undead. He holds lectures about their weaknesses and strengths and how the refugees can use it to their advantage if the need arises.
One time he can be seen distributing holy water vials amongst the refugees in the camp telling them how to use it properly.

From the far side of the grounds, a woman sits cross-legged beside the nearest tree, appearing as inconspicuous as possible. Her attention is focused on those being trained; she observes their lessons of fighting and listens mildly to the lectures. It is apparent her curiosity guided her to watch, though not quite interact.

If Karovir would notice Lhanir he would nod and wave her over. If she accepts the invitation is up to her though.

Celovar can be seen watching as well. He declines the invitation to teach any of them, but then he walks about correcting stances and the positions of blades. It is hard to tell if he is tring to help or if the sloppy poses just get on his nerves.

Passing most of his time in the library, checking the magical defenses, working in the laboratory and organizing expeditions, or going himself to the wilds, Nadin doesn't teaches the refugees for weeks. It is clear his martial part is taking a much lesser place in his current obligations.

Karovir would watch Celovar for a bit then walk up to him and say: "Celovar if you don't want to train with them or really teach them then please go and do something useful, please."

After his longer absence Karovir returns to the refugee training grounds once again to see if they made any progress while training without him. He would have ordered an elf guard to carry a chair after him. If the guard does as he was told people would see an elf carrying a human sized chair after the tall grey human. Finally reaching the training grounds Karovir would point at a certain spot where the elf puts down the chair and then he would send the guard back on duty after thanking him.

Karovir sits down on the chair and puts his feet crossed on a nearby rock leaning back and looking over the place and the training refugees. If there are any refugees he would call them to him and speak:

"Hello my friends. I am finally back again and hope you managed to continue your training without me. Some of you should be experienced enough to continue the training with the others. Why don't you just show me what kind of progress you made so I know where we can continue, hm?"

After watching the refugee militia showing their skill and fruits of their training, Karovir would take a moment to think about it all. Then he waves them over and starts to give each single one of them a little training program also telling them what they could improve.

After a few days the refugees can not only be seen training but sometimes just sitting in a semi-circle in front of Karovir while he is speaking to them. If someone would listen to it for a while they might hear him giving lessons about combat, tactics and strategy. On other times he is talking about the gods, mostly about the Triad, Bane and Shaundakul as he knows more about them than about other deities. Sometimes he seems to be telling some sort of old war stories but always trying to make sure that there is something the trainees can learn of them.

Celovar can be seen taking a chair where Celovar used to organizing training sessions. He mostly watches while rocking in the chair with a small child, addressing there footwork and posture for combat. He is strict but gives them water breaks and does not impede there health.

One day Karovir would ask Celovar to help him to gather the farmers because he has something important to tell them. As soon as all are gathered Karovir would stand on the rock he was putting his feet on usually. Like standing on a podest he would look at the farmers and clear his throat before he begins to talk to them:

"Greetings, farmers, my students, my friends, I know it has been a little while since I personally came to train you but I know that you are able to train by yourself. Today I came because there is an important decision and even more important actions to make. Almost one year ago I started to train those of the people here who were old enough and willing to fight and I promised you that I will teach you to be able to defend your home or to fight to get back your old homes should the opportunity arise.
Now after one year of training the chance is there. Plans are being made to attack Shadowdale and to drive the oppressors out. Shadowdale is dying, they lost their crops after the Zhentarim's crimes against Chaunteau and innocents are being slaughtered because they are starving and asking for food. Shadowdale's people are ready for a revolution but they can't make it alone and they don't know how to fight. But you know how to fight. You know even how to fight Zhentarim soldiers, Banites and their servants because that is what we focused on!
I ask you to follow me when the day comes and help to get back your old homes and rescue your friends. I will not force anyone though and if you don't want to fight then don't. But imagine how your children or your friends will tell their children how their father or old friend, a simple farmer, fought the tyrants and drove them out of Shadowdale!
You have the skills and the equipment to achieve great things and in my opinion you are all no simple soldiers but you are knights who fight for their justice.
I ask you to talk to your families or friends and make a decision. There will be a bit of time to prepare and do some last training sessions before your time comes! Thank you."

He would bow slightly to the crowd and cough after talking so much while stepping down from the small rock.

Since the training ground is a relatively plain field only with a few wooden dummies which stand around there it should be easy to notice someone who is not one of the training refugees or a soldier of Myth Drannor. Karovir would order a guard or Celovar if he is there to send any person away who is not known and tries to overhear the speech.

Celovar would do as asked and help Karovir asked and gathered the farmers that he himself was also responsible for training; in Karovir's absence. Celovar having spent months and months among them would keep an eye out for anything strange and use his superior senses to try to weed out anyone whom was 'new' or did not belong.

During the speech he is standing near Karovir in his uniform unless he notices anything different or odd.
