A charred body

In the forest on the eastern side of Shadowdale, beyond sight of the watchtowers, there is a body that looks to have been horribly burnt. Around it are scattered pieces of armor, and a frowning face is carved into what remains of the chest. Should any inspect the body, the signet of the Thaumaturge Ignotius Vichard is found among the pieces of armor. With the armor signet, which was once the clasp for his cloak, is a note that simply says, "A warning for all the rest of you". The cloak is missing.

*after a patrol comes across the Thaumaturge's body, Danika is seen taking the corpse to the temple of Bane where she would inform the priest that the Black Fang is required. She would also let them know that no other is to deal with the corpse under the orders of the Commander*

The Black Fang comes as summoned and looks down at the charred body, then at Danika. "Who is he?"

*Danika would salute the Black Fang as she approaches. At her question she would look down at the body with a very brief odd expression before bringing her eyes up to meet hers*

"It is the Thaumaturge's body, Black Fang. The Commander gave specific instruction that none will handle this except for you"

"Mhm... and he is right to instruct this as I am the only one with the proper skill to bring him back when his body is so.... crispy." She wrinkles her nose as she calmly regards the charred corpse. She then pulls a diamond from one of her belt pouches and sets it on Iggy's chest before muttering a soft prayer, pleading for the return of Iggy's soul with the spell Resurrection. Audrey then stands back and watches. "It is up to the Thaumaturge to answer the call now." Even as she speaks, his body is restored, though his chest has yet to rise.

*Danika watches quietly as Audrey works to bring the Thaumaturge back. Hearing that it is up to him now she would take a few steps away then fall to one knee bowing her head in her own prayers while she waits for him to rejoin the living*

*A few moments pass as Iggy's body remains there motionless. As Danika takes a knee, Ignotius' eyes flick open, his breathing comes in sharp rasps followed by the wheezing brought on from the scar along his neck. He lurches from the table he rests on, falling to the ground on his hands and knees, struggling to regain control of his breathing. Between wheezes he sputters out several words, his bloodshot eyes looking around the temple with pure vengeance.*

"Sariah......Rebels......Outnumbered......"

///They had captured me long before they had killed me.....Define exactly how much I cannot remember upon death. They had knocked me unconscious after our PVP, then interrogated me for a while. Then I was finally killed. You're saying that I cannot remember the hours that it took up until that point of death?

You can remember who interrogated you but not who killed you)).

///Okay, then I'll keep my post the same since she and a few others that fought Iggy were still there the entire time. The only reason he said her name is because she's the only one he knew by name.

///She didn't have a mask the entire time, and during the interrogation responded to the name Sariah. Not long before that Iggy had brought her into Zhentarim custody, so he's well aware of who she is.

*Ignotius' eyes continue to flit back and forth as he looks around the temple, his gaze finally falling onto Audrey and Danika. His breathing slows down, but he still wheezes every so often.*

"What..*wheeze*....What has happened? How did..*wheeze*...How did I get here?"

"Just breathe, Thaumaturge, slowly and gently." She speaks in her usual cold, impassive tone. "You were brought in by a patrol. Apparently someone decided to burn your body, but they did not do a very good job."

*Danika takes a protective stance next to Iggy*

"I had seen you leaving to the East sir. When you did not return I began asking others if they had seen you and then checked the inn and crafting areas. When you could not be found I requested a patrol. The Commander ordered a search party and from the information gathered we were able to find out you had been taken to the Ironhouse halls. On our return from the search we found your body just outside the city."

*her jaw tightens as she looks down at him for a moment before looking straight ahead*

"I should have been with you, sir. I will not leave your side again."

She looks over at the two with a cold glare. "Oh, how touching. The thaumaturge is perfectly capable of taking care of himself. He has no need for some sniveling female thinking to protect him." Looks over at Iggy again. You will need a few days to recover from this ordeal. I will see to it your superiors are aware you are under my care."

*Her jaw clenches slightly at Audrey's words yet her eyes remain focused forward. She would stay at attention next to the Thaumaturge unless specific orders to leave are given*

*Ignotius' breathing would come back under control and he would rise to his feet as the two speak. He would look to Danika first and then to Audrey and say*

"Leave us for now, recruit. You could not have protected me as you did not know my intentions. I need a momentary word with the Black Fang...."

*he would stretch himself out, testing to see if all his regular bodily functions had returned to normal.*

Audrey watches Danika leave, waiting as the recruit walks out the door before turning to Iggy. "We will speak in my office. I am quite interested in what you have to say, Thaumaturge." She then leads him to her office.
