A body outside of town

A body is found outside of town, he was contorted as if he died to a very painful type of poison. Closer examination reveals that he was a Yuan Ti. Tracks round the body show a few snake like trails that head back towards the overgrowth. They seemed to have hunted down one of thier own...

Piak arrives at the scene of crime from the North Ride, on one of his occasional visits to Shadowdale.
If the authorities do not hold him back, he would examine the corpse for any signs of a tribe, anything written or similar.
After the examination, he would go into town, asking Alex if he plans an expedition to follow the snakes. If not, he would look for a tracker, preferably one who can sneak, and follow the trails on his own.

Hearing of the news of the body, Alexander would sigh. He muttered something about someone dying around Shadowdale on a near daily basis. Looking to Piak, he would grunt.

"Outside the walls? Not my problem. Get Hawkley or someone to track for ye. He's a good lad, and a stealthy one at that."

///Hawkley is an NPC? If yes, Piak would look for a PC rather.

So Piak would ask for the usual whereabouts of Hawkley, and look for him.

Mist who frequents the areas surrounding Shadowdale listening to rumors and the like. On occasion helping with tasks. He would be invisible to begin with. He would approach the body nodding his head and rubbing his chin in interest. He would attempt to discern the type of poison. ((will have a DM give me a check in game))

Riei would cross the body over and look if a spell to raise the dead would work on the body as that wqould be the ideal way of extracting information

The spirit would not return to the corpse. Upon searching the body other then the scaly skin no clan or tribe markings can be found. It seems the man died from a light wound that had some kind of venom on it. The area around has the look of a battle with a few individuals on the single man.

After Piak met Hawkley in person, the two decided to leave town soon.
Piak would quietly follow the hunter into the Overgrowth, trusting his instincts in the wilds, while of course being highly alert of ambushes while Hawkley focusses on following the trail.

Edit: The objective would be a simple scouting mission, to see if the snakes might be up to anything big, or if there is internal struggle among the Yuan Ti. Open battle will be avoided.
