Greengrass Celebrations

a few days after the anouncement the first guests appear in the city. Bards and foreign merchants wanting to sell their exotic wares at the festival arrive, pulling up their tents.

every day, more and more visitors arrive in the city and set up their tents.

Some Cormyrian merchants from Arabel are setting up their store next to some Thespians from Ravens Bluff.

The Keeper of Myth Drannor can be spoted sometimes, inspecting himself the preparations to the Greengrass celebration exhaustively. Even if apparently always occupied, the ar'tel'quessir usually stops to give the welcome to the merchants, and sometimes vows of prosperity to early visitors.

After completing another task on behalf of the golden dragon Shalathiux-atan, Jay would wake up pretty late and would bump into the workers that are setting up the stage, asking them whom to speak to offer his help as a performer, in case they need any.

The Thespian would smile at Lucent and welcome him into their fold. They ve rehearsing some little plays for the last days and always needs one or the other supporter in ther play.

one day before the festival, the city is teeming with activity. Merchants come to hawk their wares. Others prepare food for the coming day.
Many of the visitors and citizens alike are anxious to see the local heros perform in the tournament.

The High Mage and Solmah are seen preparing the battle ground with magical lights and warding all nearby trees and buildings against the elements.

Tournament and auction.

Iwean sees the commotion and sees the announcement. To no one in particular, "What's the darn name of the Spring Festival back home?" He shrugs. "This sounds like fun anyway." Finds a shady tree to start selecting and preparing the arrows he's going to use to win the Archery contest.

Celovar schedules check points and hasd all of the merchants items searches and makes sure it is legal and nothing vile such as ties to necromancy or the like.

on the tournament grounds a sign is raised with the rules for upcoming contest:

blade, the bow, the weave, or all together? Maybe you are one of them? It is time to find it out and show your skills at the Greengrass tournament of Myth Drannor!
Everyone who is allowed to enter Myth Drannors refugee camp can participate. Come and win gold, glory, trophies and a nice title. Tell your friends! It will be worth a try!

The Rules:

The Close Combat Contest:
- only simple equipment and simple weapons without any enchantments of simple materials (iron, leather, cloth) are allowed
- to safe time the contestants can bring their own equipment as long as it is within the above mentioned rules. Else
we also have someone handing out equipment at the tournament
- no rings, wands, potions or any other magical items
- only natural martial abilities, no magical or abilities granted by a deity, if you are not sure about some of your
abilities feel free to ask
- fight honorable: It means no hiding or backstabbing, don't attack an opponent if he can't fight anymore or is no longer
going to resist, you can feint your enemy but you aren't allowed to cripple them (feint yes, crippling strike no!)
- if a contestant has magical abilities they can't turn off then their opponent can choose a spell to ward himself, too
- it will be a tiered contest so that people with similar combat experience will fight against each other, up to three
winners are possible

The Archery Contest:
- like mentioned above only simple equipment and no magical items and such are allowed
- no magical abilities or abilities granted by a deity, if you are unsure then ask
- each contestant shoots at a target ten times. If he hits 5 times he reaches the next round.
- The targets will be harder to hit with each round until one winner is left of each tier
- it will be a tiered contest, too and up to three winners are possible

The Magic Contest:
- like mentioned above only simple equipment and no magical items and such are allowed, no armors only simple robes or clothes are allowed
- contestants are allowed to prepare a number of spells according to the number of fingers they have on their right hand
- highest allowed spell tier is the highest tier the less experienced caster can use.
Example: If one wizard can cast spells up to the 6th tier and the other one up to the 9th then both are only allowed to
choose spells which are not higher than 6th tier.
- as soon as one mage is unable to cast (knocked out, dazed, stunned etc.) he lost
- only the prepared spells are allowed, no other abilities
- necromancy is not allowed at all and also the cursed spells of our friend bigby (it simply would make it too annoying)
- no shapeshift spells or other spells which grant magic immunity or spell resistance
- like before this will be a tiered contest, too with up to three possible winners
Alternative:
- the casters also can agree on letting summoned creatures fight
- the rule for spell tiers is the same as above
- the casters are allowed to support their summon with up to three wards

Sen'Thia gazes over all the commotion and celebration prep, a sense of excitement building inside.
Being an entertainer by trade , she seeks any who appear to be overseers of the work, and asks how she can arrange to participate in the festivities .
She would tell them that she juggles, jiggles, sings, dances, does story telling and other acts.
For demonstration , she would already be juggling 5 stones with one hand while talking and gesturing with the other.
