*Sarth, after a trip into the Old Skull Tor and a conversation with Aelyria, said he would go seek answers to a particular problem in Freehaven, and so he set a few days aside from his usual work to head to the den of questionable people and set about looking for someone.
He spent most of his time in the Dancing Homunculus and made it very apparent he was spending a fair amount of gold whilst he was there. Those who paid attention to this new and rather open visitor would find he was looking for a guide. A guide to somewhere very dangerous... and very dark.*

((Consider this rather open conversation with those who frequent Freehaven (you know who you are Razz))

He is approached by a man in a mask. "So...who are you?"

"Sarth Mendry, and who might you be?" *the Tiefling replied, sitting quite casually at his table*

The man sits on the other side. "Jack."

His eyes lock onto Sarth. "Where are you looking to go, and why?"

"I am currently seeking someone who has some measure of experience in navigating places below." *he tapped his foot on the floor to make a point* "I thought Freehaven the best place to start. Why? That would depend on whether you are that person of course."

"I have little experience in the Underdark." He would get up and leave awkwardly.

*he leaned back in his chair and ordered another drink as Jack left, his search continued from there, or rather, the wait for another to present themselves*

If Sarth gives his stay a couple of days, chances are that he sees a petite hooded female, with eyes occasionally glowing with red, entering the trading area of Freehaven. The female browses if any messages trade are sent to her, inspects her storage of strange goods, and silently picks up on any gossip readily available to her ears.
She stays doing her business for long enough to be approached.

*upon one of his forays into the market area to pick up arcane oddities whilst he was staying, he noticed the unusually short figure and watched her briefly before taking his chances. He approached in a clearly measured manner and stopped perhaps an arms length away from them*

"I could not help but notice, you seem to stand apart from the crowd, if you do not mind me saying so. Perhaps you might be able to help me. I'm... looking for someone."

*he waited after making his entrance to hear what the figure had to say, if anything*

During Sarth's time in Freehaven, a man in grey would have been wandering about; from the merchant stalls to the Homunculus, to the crafting halls... Sarth may have noticed him, he may have not; but the man certainly noticed Sarth.

*The female pushes back her hood a little bit to speak, clearly revealing herself as a drow. Insignia or other signs of rank are not visible on her attire. In a Common slightly broken, she bluntly states:*
"Who are you searching for? And what makes you think I can help you? Or will do so, for that matter?" *she smirks, waiting for his response*

"I'm searching for an... acquaintance... They were taken into places I would prefer not to tread by someone I would prefer not to encounter. I'm sure there is however someone in this, city, who is impartial to both points though. I can only assume, by your circumstances, you might be that impartial."

*he did not seem overtly surprised by the Drow, perhaps he had dealt with denizens of the Underdark before*

"I offer a reward in gold and perhaps some information that may interest you about this particular Drow who has kidnapped my acquaintance. All I require is that they are brought, mostly intact, to the city and then brought to me, should you choose to accept. I'm not particularly bothered who gets the job done so long as there's something, or rather, someone, to show for it."

*he paused, though did not seem too bothered about others overhearing his offer*

"Are you interested then? If so we can discuss more in detail."

"Impartiality and trade do go hand in hand, don't they?" *she smiles ambigously* "I am always interested in gold and information, and shall hear out and consider your proposition. How about a glass of wine, then?"
