A new future for the kids in Shadowdale: a school

Inspired by the initiative of his mate, Jay has been flirting with the idea of taking down the remains of the burnt barn located in the main square of the town and replace it with a new building, a school for the younglings.

While the main goal is to focus on teaching how to read/write common and basic math, the school will also aim to inspire the new generations by hosting speakers who'll share their knowledge in their own field, the likes of battlefield, fine arts, arcane, survival or farming.

The school will also be about religion and the many gods that rule the mortals, in order to let children know that there's more than the Banite dogmas they sadly got forced to study in the past. Jay is planning to gather experienced, talented people to run the school on daily basis in agreement with other local communities like the House of Plenty, the Lathanderites and the Temple of Love's Goddesses. Before even starting all this, he would need to have materials and funds approved.

After talking with Sheriff Mara, he is now putting finishing touches to his notes, that he will hand over if needed, all the while awaiting for a response from her to realize if they Mayor is interested or not.

Cleophus continues to shepherd this by teaching the children in their homes, and by encouraging Jay's vision, hoping that public desire for a school will take hold. He has also talked to the Deputy Mayor about this very thing.

Trip is quite enthusiastic about this idea after ahving a lenghty discussion with Jay upon this matter... and talks it up with the townfolk, guards, and friends of the new Shadowdale. He offers to help collect materials for the build, donate his time and labor to help build it, and once complete... even teach survival, farming, and self defense classes.

In his spare time, he collects various metals and ore from the mines as well as fine river stone from the nearby riverbeds and asks Harvestmistress Glamerie if it's ok that he stores these materials somewhere in or around the House of Plenty.

Trip and Amatria talk the more political aspects of the new school project over at the House of Plenty with Cleophus the Lathanderite. They speak of gaining political support from the new Shadowdale government and Trip offers to request from Julia and Glamerie first of their blessings to move forward with the endeavor, then for a seat at the next town counsil meeting to bid their proposal, fill out paperwork and such and gain the town leadership support. Trip eagerly awaits the thoughts and ideas of Harvestmistress Julia and High Harvestmistress Glamerie.

Bel would eagerly volunteer as a teacher for the new school

The City Council is concerned about the safety of that location, it's too vulnerable to attack and close to the campfire where every kind of "bad influence" could reach the children,

Since our Mayor Glamerie authorized, we're now using the two floors house behind the auctioneer as the provisory Orphanage, untill the permanent one is been build inside the new House of Plenty, we should think to renovate that building to be the Town School after the children be moved,

It seems to be a safe place, the children are in fact now living there. It's close enough to their future home and they will already be used to the location.

After meeting deputy mayor Vincent at the Dancing Moon Theater, Jay is now willing to receive any help by people who can offer materials to the townhall in order to fasten the constructions, all the while waiting for the orphanage to be done.

Ahri can be seen discussing an idea of hers for the school, an enchanted chalkboard that makes use of the silent image spell to display colorful numbers, letters, and words in ways conducive to learning. She intends to go about researching ways to make it friendly to all so that even those with little experience with magic can use it. She also intends to research how to make it as efficient as possible. Even now she starts delving into books about enchanting materials, and what focuses might be needed.

Justin makes it known to various people around Shadowdale that he supports the idea of a school. Hopefully the news will reach the appropriate ears.

He has asked Vincent to direct some of his last donation to the reconstruction fund to the school should it be approved.
