Crossroads

Everybody walking near the boats can see Mark sitting on a rock, his weapons are seathed, and his arms rest at his sides, he is simply staring at the ground, not eating, not drinking, not even bothering to look at the people that walk by...
The once fierce man is now but a ghost of himself, sometimes he tries to say something but even though his lips move he is unable to say a word.

A guardian of nothing, he waits for the worst to come.

A dark figure would observe Mark from the distant darkness should he remain in place during the night. A whispering voice would echo around him before fading into nothingness.

"Embrace your sorrow, your loss, come into the darkness."

Cadence would wander out to the crossroads sometime after the whisper, a basket of food and drink on her arm. She'd take a seat beside the man, smoothing out her dress.

"Nice place for a picnic, I suppose." She smiles as she starts to set out some food and drink.

Should Mark still sit there Azzelas would stop in passing the crossroads and say:

"Pah, what is this now, Mark? Your head got messed up? Where is that big mouth of yours?"

Worried, Jay would stop by and try to make him talk once or twice without insisting too much. If that doesn't seem to cause any reaction, he would stay next to him and glance at Cadence, interrogative, all the while looking around for any upcoming danger to move him, literally if needed, to a safer place.

1st day

Mark would still be sitting in his spot, he hasn't ate or drank anything for a whole day, he begins to feel dizzy, his hands are a bit numb and it is hard for him to focus on the road ahead, his head hurts a lot and sometimes he closes his eyes apparently passing out a for a couple of minutes.
When he is awake he doesn't speak nor look at the people around, he just stands there, still waiting.


A woman comes seeking Mark while a hodded figure watches, then Mark and the woman leave the Crossroads

Silphie would be seen coming out of the academy; using magical light to light all the lamps and torches along the road before returning back to the castle along the river. She doesn't even give mark a passing glance.

Ava strolls by but stops not far, hidden from common sight, viewing the man who seems to be dwindling away , helpless before others, unable to respond to kindness nor otherwise...
Moving silently, she steps by close to him and shares the only help her mind is able to conjour...
"Predator or prey , ... Move ! .. Or be rightfully devoured. ".
Her hazel eyes squint as she sees her "help" elicits nothing of value , and she moves away , to let the forces of the world cleanse away the weak and hopeless.

*a message boy finds mark and informs him that the headmaster is ready to see him*
