| Trapped, he is chained to the post, in the Cells of Krag Keep, his bones broken. Slumped over like a dancer (a marionette puppet) he chokes out on his blood, he continuously recites a Prayer to Lathander. Having been visited by a woman who cleaned his wounds, splints applied to his arms and legs, he does all that he can to remain a faithful knight of the Aster. His Captor and his torturer, has been trying to break him, not only Physically but Mentally and Spiritually. Garren waits for death, for life, or for an Unknown absolution he knows that may never come. | |

| During Dalia's stay at the tower, she takes occasional breaks fom her studying to visit the broken man in the cell. She is always accompanied by two Adepts but they always stand at the cell door as she gently washes the blood away and offers him sips of water. When she addresses the man, she calls him Smoke, but as she cleans his wounds, she whispers soft words of encouragement and urges him to hold on. Before she leaves, she places her lips by his ear and breathes his name into his ear in the softest of whispers, lest he forget himself in his torment. She does this everyday. | |

| He would see her as a welcomed sight, knowing her from seeing her in Myth Drannor, though he would never tell anyone on Krag. He would whisper to her so the Adepts could not hear him
*w* My dear, I thank you for your kindness, It shall be repaid ten-fold, should I be released from my bonds and freed.
He would shake his head slowly as she calls him "Smoke"
*w* That is the title . . the Necromancer gave me. I do not wear it. The longer I stay here, the further from the my ward I feel.
As she breathes his real name into his ear, he would smile to her, his hair tossed and greasy, his beard has begun to thicken slightly. He looks slightly haggered and down-trodden

| "I do not tend to you for reward, Smoke."
As he tells her not to call him Smoke, she tenses visibly and speaks in a soft, but clearly audible voice.. "While I know this to be true, I am under strict instructions to only call you Smoke. I'm sorry, but you are not worth me risking my life." Her voice catches as she speaks the last few words.

| He looks to her, his eyes show signs of sadness. But just nods to her
*w* I would not wish to endanger your life, my dear. My Faith has not shaken nor shall this continued torture make me forsake what I hold dear to my heart.
He would turn away any sustenance offered, kindly saying he was neither thirsty nor hungry, though he welcomes her company, no matter how long or short it may be.

| Her jaw sets stubbornly as he pushes the water away, holding it to his lips again. "You must keep your strength up, Smoke. You can't let yourself whither away into nothingness, not matter what is done to you." | |

| Seeing that there is no Malice in her word he accepts the water, though he coughs as swallows the water
Sorry. my throat has been coated in my own blood from the beatings, but thank you. Would it be too much trouble for you if I were to ask if I could rest now?

| She gives him a sad smile and gently strokes his hair from his face. "Just a few more sips and you can rest. I should return to my studying anyway." She stays with him and urges him to take a few more sips of water before helping him find a comfortable position, or as comfortable as he can be while chained to a post, and then leaves the cell with the two adepts. | |

Garren, the tiny ray of Light in and Otherwise darkened fortress. Being forced to eat ice cold and uncooked gruel he pushes it away, a refusal to accept them, he do however welcome one other ray of light, Dalia.

| After their brief encounter in the Castle courtyard, Dalia returns to her studies. She then goes to the cell, a few hours later, with a tub of warm water and a soft cloth to clean the blood from that day's torture. She's careful to not speak to him more than necessary, and only calls him Smoke except when she's cleaning up her mess. Then she leans close to his ear and whispers his name to him again. | |

| At this crucial point in the interrogations and torture, Jack cuts him off of all excessive communication. He puts guards up to only let him in and out. Dalia is not welcome inside anymore, nor even any other Zhentarim that is under Jack's rank. | |

| Having been subjected to the the Black Fang and the Thaumaturge the entire day and most of the night, Garren is wearing down. The Majority of his bones now broken and his chest now scarred with he Thaumaturge's Initials, he refuses to eat, rather than giving in, to their demands and lies. He would take comfort in know that he has headbutted Jack twice. | |
