Elven and human training grounds

Celovar would turn to Bryanna and give a nod.

So you finally made it. Feel free to fall in if you like with others. People are sparring right now and I am having them match up to see where the skills lie before seeing what needs improvement the most. We do alot of exercise and such as well.

A little blonde human girl runs up and grabs Celovar by the leg with a small wooden sword and a bandanna similar to the one Celovar wears that is slightly to large for her body.

Sara:" Poppa is the best tall lady! He will teachded you!"

She makes some poorly educated motions with the small wooden blade.

Bryanna nods and smiles at the little one before looking to Celovar and speaking.

"Where would you have me then Celovar? I'm no great talent nor athlete, but I've been training since before I could hold a sword without it wavering."

She looks back to the little one and smiles wider kneeling down.

"And you little miss, if you go in the front pocket on the outside of my pack.. you'll find a paper packet with some hard candies.. why don't you help yourself to a few?"

Celovar looks over Bryanna before speaking.

This is my training ground. It is desired to keep my boys in good shape in addition to training some new elves and others of the Lathander settlement to defend themselves. We have vastly different skill levels among us ranging from little Sera here to myself and everything in between. If you can find a suitable partner, perhaps Eilcaryn, then you will be decent off. Currently as I am getting many new people with desire to show up and learn I am evaluating others to see whom will match up better for sparring lessons before going over what they need to improve on.

Sera looks way up to Bryanna. She sticks the wooden sword down her shirt and through her pants before taking her time to climb up Celovars body while he just watches. Her eyes go wide when Bryanna mentions candy and once she mounts Celovars shoulders she leans over the front of him with her head upside down looking into his eyes and squishing his cheeks together in a fishy face. She lets out quite the giggle before looking at his more seriously.

Sera: "Papa, I know you do not like that candy stuffs, but can I have maybe just one from the tall lady?"

Celovar looks up to Sera and actually gives a small smile before looking over the candy and Bryanna with a small nod.

*Eilcaryn is idle and watching two men spar.*

Bryanna approaches Eilcaryn with a smile.

"Hello again miss Eilcaryn. We talked once of having similar skill sets, shall we see how closely we are matched?"

*Nods to Bryanna in greeting with a neutral expression*

If you wish. I tried to push the wizard and I made her upset I believe. *sighs* Give me a few minutes, I wish to see how this ends.

*Continues to watch the two men fight and it ends. She gives Bryanna and herself about 10 feet before going into a defensive stance.*

I hope we learn from eachother this fight.

Ahri takes up her stance, frowning at Celovar. "It's not rage, it is frustration."

She sighs and takes a deep breath, and makes sure her feet are in the correct position and makes sure her balance is centered.

At first she would try to make a few basic strikes that she had seen other fighters do and practice those until her arms hurt, or until Celovar told her to do otherwise.

It wasn't long before she was leaning on the wooden longsword, panting. Swords were a lot of work.

Studying Eilcaryn's pose Bryanna picks up a wooden bastard-style sword and takes up her position across from the other woman. Raising the blade overhead in both hands, taking up a classic high-guard as she slowly advances, swinging downward and inward from the outside of Eilclaryn's swordarm in a somewhat reserved manner, feeling the other woman out for now.

Celovar woulld take the wooden sword from Ahri a moment before looking her frame over again.

Before we need to have you training with a blade it might help to help improve your physique. Carrying and wielding a blade can take alot out of you and it will certainly help if you can do so and show how long you are able to. Lets work on that first, after that we can work on more simple movements and how it affects your body to start.

*Eilcaryn adjusts her defenses to match Bryannas style, looking completely serious now. she seems to rely on her shield for complete defense, and she holds it tilted up to parallel the blade. Her own sword is a standard longsword, and she switches the position of it from parellel to the ground and fixed on bryanna to held low and pointed upwards; she seems intent on using thrust attacks. She also lowers herself some by bending at the knees, which makes her an even smaller target then she already is.

Coming within armslength of Bryanna, she would take a couple blows to the shield which are blocked by it, but doesnt retaliate. She seems to be waiting for something.

The beautiful moon elf known as Amatria arrives at the training ground in her usual mithral chain shirt and blue cloak. She stands quietly, glancing around and watching the different people training. She smiles slightly at the sight of Bryanna, but she does do anything to get her attention, as she does not want to distract her. She also smiles upon seeing Celovar, but again she does not want to interrupt and simply waits patiently, unless there is an obvious place for her to go.

Bryanna begins to rotate slowly towards Eilcaryn's sword-side, continuing to work methodically, her strikes always trying to snake past the sword in an attempt to force Eilcaryn to rotate with her.

*Eilcaryn follows and rotates to stay front side to bryanna.  A slight sudden shift in her shield posture, then springs at bryanna, spearing her with the shield, then flurrys with the sword to strike her.  Its a reckless gambit on her part*

Ahri nods at Celovar and practices for quite some time before finally letting herself leave the grounds, worn ragged by the training.

She can been see a day or two after as well, but after that, she stops showing up. In fact, she hasn't even been seen in Myth Drannor or in Shadowdale.

Having been waiting for this Bryanna reverses direction, but sadly for her instead of getting behind Eilcaryn's shield as she hoped she takes part of the tower shield to her hip, staggering her sideways and giving them both separation to recover. She spins holding her sword before her in both hands, waiting for the other woman to turn before springing at her with a fury of high straight down attacks right at the shield before stepping before stepping back and waiting, giving Eilcaryn the initiative this time.

Brother Orren when finished with his group drills will approach Celovar. "Captain" He waits till he has Celovars attention. "I appreciate the efforts you are giving to the miltia. I would like join your personal group. While serving the Mother in Archenbridge I received martial training then and feel I can benefit from advanced training. My previous training was from a seasoned General of some renown in his country and he was quite skilled."

I am hardly anyones Captain, but I have no problem with you and so I welcome you to join us Orren.

After dedicating some time to Ahri a little girl can be seen following Celovar the next few days as he does drills and various exercises. He lines up the students to discuss the importance of certain strikes and blocks with a volunteer

So what is your title?

Amatria would participate in the training and the exercises the next days.

I do not much care for titles, but I am the best warrior in the world. Just call me Celovar as everyone else.

*Eilcaryn smirks and backs up out of melee, then in a spin she flings her shield at bryanna which whirls past her head, missing and smashing into a tree behind her. She grounds her sword and watches bryanna*

Okay Celovar it is. Do you think you can help me with using my scythe?

The farmers tool? I would recommend leaving that in the fields and using a blade in combat. I know some have made it work somewhat well in combat. If you seek training in such an awkward tool then I suggest asking about for someone whom uses it. Jules comes to mind, I cannot teach you to use such a tool for combat, unless your battling crops in which case your my better.

*laughs* This may well be true, maybe we can focus on tactics and situational awareness then. My role in any large scale combat would be mostly support anyway.

After spending some time doing community service Mark would walk past the training grounds, he would watch the people training and smile a bit, it would look like he enjoys the sight and stands there, examining people fighting styles.
