two more dead bodies found

Rumors spread through Freehaven that slaves assigned to cleaning the sewers of the Settlement came across a dead body in the murky water. The body had ben weighed down with some garbage and the water snakes of the sewers had already started feasting on the body.

While finding dead bodies in the sewers is not so uncommon, what troubles most people is the fact that what was left of the body was identified as Rellan Gorsh a Duergar serving as Sergeant in the Freehaven Militia.

The Freehaven Militia have now begun investigating the murder of one of their own.

Ja'mal spending time healing at the inn in freehaven looks out his second story window at the voices on the street. He waches as they pull the dead duergar up from the sewers and laughs to himself. He crosses the room before locking his door and returning to bed.

As the Freehaven Militia starts to investigate the murder of Sergeant Gorsh.. news of yet another murder make the rounds...

Spender Jaron of the Temple of Waukeen was found dead in a alley near the temple. Killed by a clear cut of the throat, found lying in a pool of his own blood.

The remaining priests of the Temple of Waukeen, most of them young and inexperienced, have, in their Panic, locked themselves in their temple, fearing for their lives.

Mark frowns at the news, there is a clear pattern in the attacks so he walks towards the Temple and knocks on the door, offering himself as a guard or a bodyguard to whoever wants, since they have been helping him ever since he got banned from the major cities around.
Even if they decline the help, he keeps an eye on the Priests or Priestesses that walk more often around Freehaven, making sure they are okay.

as Mark knocks on the Temple doors, the big rich and masterfully decorated double doors open by a little crack and the face of young priest is seen, his eyes darting around looking behind Mark for some unseen dangers.

"Oh its you... we have decided to close the temple for the time being i am afraid we are not avaible for any services"

After Mark offered himself as guard, the young priest would ponder for a moment.

"We might have use for you for guarding our temple entrance so no one enters unseen. We have decided to only allow access to known faithful of our church for now.. for security reasons"

Mark smiles to him and nods
"Then I shall occupy my free time guarding this entrance, I suggest you look for other possible entrances, just in case, as I said, this is free"

From that point on Mark wakes up, eats breakfast takes a look around Freehaven, guards the entrance for several hours and then leaves only to return at night and guard the entrance another several hours every day.

*Once Crypto receives message of the three murders, two of which against the Waukeen temple he personally delivers this sealed message to the temple to whomever appears to be in charge, strictly for their eyes only.*

We will offer you two Shadow Guards to watch over your temple and those of it simply in exchange for their room and board and the prospect of better business relations in the future.  They can serve as escorts, investigators, temple guards, or other mercenary functions you may require.

Furthermore, the caravan outside your town can take you just across and up river from our Keep which houses a Shrine to Waukeen and many spacious accommodations.  If you no longer feel safe in the city, we will give your congregation a place to live, trade, and pray while this nasty business in Freehaven is sorted out and the perpetrator's brought to justice.

Shortly after Lann's arrival, two well armed men arrive at the temple looking for him. After speaking with him the two men take up positions by the temple entrance making sure only those the clergy want in come in and out.

once in a while the barred Temple doors would open a bit and a young priest would hand the guards and Mark some water or wine whispering his gratitude for their help

Mark nods with a smile "Thanks, but I am already filled with my own, the gesture is appreciated though" he then keeps guarding the entrance when he is free to do so.

*Shade, in fully concealing clothes, hood and mask, comes to the front door with a letter bearing the crest of the House of Redemption in a wax seal and attempts to deliver it to one of prominence inside the temple.*

On one of Celovars trips to Free Haven he hears about the deaths of those and shrugs going on with his drink playing cards with some locals.

A shadow flits by on the sidewalk by the temple, and a female teifling momentarily can be seen giving a hand signal , then fading into clear air and vanishes.
