More and more often, Taeron can be seen doing the heaviest work all around town.
He helps lifting heavy things, his muscles stretched to the limit. He plows the fields for the farmers who lost their stock to the infestation - dragging it across the field on his own back. He drills with the militia - always stacking the odds against him. He adds weights to his arms and legs during the exercises, he pushes himself to the limit and beyond... He never forces his men to break their limits, but he breaks his own. He leads by example, if any are willing to follow.
It's as if the man doesn't sleep. He is there when the sun rises and even when it sets. He can sometimes be seen or heard walking the streets at night.
He speaks very little, aside from what he must, and somehow he even finds time to help the little ones.
Whenever he is approached by the farmers, he seems to have a healing spell ready - to remove their ailments or close a wound.
The men who spar with him during the drills or spend some time with him can notice that something changed. He is more determined, as if he found the motivation that everyone else seem to have lost. It's as if there was something driving the barbarian...
