The East Watch

After a meeting with the reigning officials of Shadowdale at the Old Skull Inn, where both Dacius and Taeron visibly argued about conflicting views on the citizens of the city. The Deputy-Sheriff could be seen leaving the meeting early looking visibly angered, choosing to spend most of his time standing watch at the east Shadowdale gate with the guardsmen stationed there, he makes an effort to fill any shifts so other portions of the cities defenses could be bolstered. At times he is accompanied by a Kelemovrite by the name of Leander where they share meals with the men, speak about recent rumors, and various incidents inside Shadowdale.

Mark stands in the distance, near a burnt tree, looking at the guards at the entrance once in a while, he yawns keeping watch from his position.

"What has you upset, sir," a tower guard asks Dacius as he climbs down from his shift. The young man stands beside him and breaks a loaf of bread, offering him half.

Leander Fleau makes his way to the Eastern Gate, he claps his hand onto the shoulder of Dacius, making him aware of his presence before the man climbs up into one of the tower, murmuring into the current guards ear. "Take a rest my friend," Handing the man a dozen gold coins. "Even the air is damp here, go get yourself some warm stew.. Bring some back for the rest of the post.." With that, Leander leans over the tower surveying the surrounding area.

Looking to the young man with a tired expression, he turned his gaze to the offered bread and dipped his head in thanks before taking it. "Is it that obvious?" A light frown grew upon his lips. "I have just grown tired of serving those who insist on their superiority over the common-folk, and the continued misuse of authority for the sake of glory, fame and ego. Good men are lost to these trivial things."

He offered the man a small defeated smile. "Shadowdale deserves more.."

The guards nod to his words. "I heard that from my gal in the Skull too. Seems to be become common among some."
