Ravossel's retribution

Rav, if a band of armed folks came onto OUR land unannounced... started killing critters... fought us off while they did so... wouldn't leave when asked... all the while they are blowing up something on our property, oh idunno say our ruins... because they said it was "really really bad"...

What would the HoR do?  *he smirks and pauses looking around the room*

You know exactly what we'd do... we'd light em on fire, fill em full a arrows, hack em to pieces and launch what's left of em over the other side of the river...

You can expect a lot harsher treatment from the Zhents and by the way...  those undead creeping around up there function as Zhent guards.

I ask you all again.  If this is going to be a "house project"... I need to cordially request permission for this act and passage from them.  I'm no fool... I know I'll probably get laughed off the mountain... but at least I'll have tried diplomacy and it might look less like an act of war when you all go up there.  And yes... they will know you are coming.

If you don't want me to ask permission... Rav, Roman, Asteria... *he looks at Elektra and gives a "don't even think about going" - look* you go it alone and don't expect me to bust my ass, spend all my coin and almost die trying to get you all out of prison up there.

Roman, you ought to know better.  Twice tortured to death in a Zhent prison didn't teach you squat?!?

Asteria... do what you feel you need to.  You have all heard my position and I for one have absolutely NO time to rot in a Zhent prison.

I have hardly spent a single day preparing our fortifications since Imyn's capture, Alex's capture, and now this. folks can't seem to want to start enough wars around here before the fortifications go up *stares at Rav*... it's almost starting to sound like a plot against the House...

In fact... I think I am going to go on holiday.  My frazzled bundle is running out of threads to pluck.

What say you all... Shall I make contact with them in two days upon my return from Freehaven?  One thing I can protect, is the identity of all that plan to go.  I will simply say...

"Interested friends and members of the House want to blow up that glowy orb ya got at the ruined tower over there.... we cool?"

*chuckles to himself at the string of words*

Lhanir's attention settled on Crypto, eyes slitting ever so slightly, further emphasizing the sternness in her words. "You do not own land. All that one does is simply exist upon it for a certain amount of time, before it is, in the end, returned to nature. I have spoken to a few Zhentarim on occasion, and some would fully agree to putting an end to the undeath that may plague the land off of which they live. But that was during an earlier time, if not a few seasons ago. Whether or not such opinions remain among them remains to be seen."

The half-elf took a small step forward. "But regardless of whether or not they would agree to it after a diplomatic effort, the desecration must be stopped. There is no law or regulation that may stop us from doing what must be done, and the Zhentarim will only be a nuisance if they are not getting their way. If you do not wish to involve yourself, you may step aside. Ravossel offered to request that the House assist us, but there is no need if you wish to be uninvolved. As a neutral party in many situations, I would empathize. This is merely a job for you, not a necessity to your path in life.

As for our numbers... I would desire them small. As has been noted, there could very well be a chance that the Zhentarim would notice our presence and actions, and while I trust that an army would be more convenient if there was combat, we are not so weak or feeble that a handful would be worthless opposition. There is nothing more obvious than a battalion charging up a hill to accomplish a small deed."

The warrioress remains utterly silent until they all have spoken. She continues to rub her jaw and then finally, speaks. "I'm in." She shrugs lightly and turns to Crypto, her brown eyes blazing with inner rage. "But, if ya don't mind...I do have a few things ta say."

She stands from her chair at her full height, glancing around slowly at all of them, her jaw clenched and her hands tightening on the back of the chair. "First off Crypto...if ya think this a plot, then ya be a fool." She says bluntly, as she looks back to him. "If I have not proven m'loyalty ta this House after a year, I migh' as well walk out now and it has been o' waste o' m'time then." Her brown eyes harden. "I understand yer desire ta not start a war with t'Zhents but I need ta keep m'word to a friend." She turns and looks to Rav.

"An' tha' includes ya. I don't see this as o' job but a chance ta prove m'word to ya if m'loyalty 'ere has been questioned." She speaks coldly, her spine straightening. "So be it. Ya know I am at yer side until death. Ya an' Lhanir have been there fer me--s'time I return the favor."

"As fer other matters...if we really want ta get inta tha' 'ere right now..."

She clears her throat and rubs her jaw. "I find it foolish tha' we banned all drow because an elf refused ta listen ta my advice about not bein' alone in Freehaven." She shrugs. "Tha' is my opinion, none of ya may like it but there it is."

"As fer t'Cyricists...aye, I agree." She nods once. "I think they're o' threat, I think they should be taken care of an' I think t'same of t'undead."

"I'll take m'chance ta say this--m'reasons fer bein' involved with tryin' ta save Kendra is purely personal interest in keepin' a promise." Her eyes remain determined, blazing but her shoulders and posture remaining relaxed and calm. "Nothin' more, nothin' less. An' I will remind ya all that Dacius tried makin' a better relationship between Shadowdale an' this House before he was captured by t'Zhents." She smirks. "Though t'poor man...maybe it was o' waste of time. An' rumors have it tha' Cleo is dead as well."

Her eyes lock onto Rav, Lhanir and Ami. "I am with ya, fer wha' it is worth. Consider it m'thanks. As fer the solution...since it is yer callin', lasses...I will do whatever ya think is best. Ya know where ta find me. Just let me know when, where an' how when t'time is righ'."

With that, the warrioress turns to the door and leaves, silently.

Ami was silent the whole time as she was listening to various sides and the sarcastic tone of Crypto

...Announcing our intentions to the Zhents would be unwise. At best, we will be refused entry. At worst, captured.
This needs to be done fast and without drawing too much attention.

..I will be honest. I doubt that this plan will work and we will be only wasting our time but we have to try. This should be done at night.

If others don't want to be a part of it, Lhanir, Ravossel and me will do it.
Take it as you wish and call me paranoid, but if we are stopped before being able to do anything, I will consider it an act from within, most likely.

After that she falls silent.

Wow Captain... that's more words that you've said to me since way back when we first met. Nice to get a rise out of you for once.

Everyone... I have 5 meetings tonight... please excuse me. I will do what I can to keep the house safe...period. You'll have my final decision in a day.

*the meeting had to be continued as a house matter came up that required most of the people at the meeting in Freehaven shortly... to complicate matters Illnicker wandered into the main bar and had a drink or two.  When Crypto came to greet him, he had already heard Rav and Illnicker talking about the orb and the undead on the hill.  In the 10 seconds he heard them talking he discerned two things... Illnicker thought the undead a nuisance... good news... he also said letting the house destroy the orb would "cost us"... Crypto invites Illnicker in the back to talk things over.  When they came out, they are cordial... Illnicker heads up the Krag and Crypto heads to Freehaven behind everyone that went ahead of him.  When the orb meeting convenes....*

As I have already told Rav... I have secured our permission to take care of this orb and any undead that get in our way.  If you are a sworn and known enemy of Zhents you go up there at your own risk... we go there to 'do the orb' then then git.  No expanding missions, no side projects, get in, do it get out...party.

*smiles to Rav* Now then who do you want where doing what?  This is your show now... I'd like to guard the proceedings, negotiate with anyone that interferes, and I can even cast turn undead...something I learned in my choir boy days.

*cordially to Lhanir* your opinion is respected, but that doesn't change the fact that if someone comes here to Misty Falls and starts messing up the land... they are going to get BOUNCED hard.

*Elektra speaks softly, and in a gentle demeanor, almost with the sound of love and caring in her voice.*

   *She pulls her hair back behind her shoulders to better expose her face as she continues, a bit more seriously. As she speaks, she walks among those gathered, making eye contact with each as she goes. . . *
  "Asteria . . .  please hold on to our trust in you, we gave you room, and are now building stables just for you. There is no mistrust here. i , personally, apologize for any and all members of the House who may have spoken words that caused doubt in you.  Yes, Be assured that we are a better House because you are in it.
   Lhanir . . .  true no one owns the land, but we are temporary stewards of it ... and carry the responsibility while we have it in our hands. . . which may be years to come. I do not actually claim the soil, trees, water and such that we stand on. . .but. . i do claim the very ideas , concepts and the laws that came from the pains and suffering in my life . . .and i honor that this land and location support and stand for these ideals in the minds of many.  What i protect is far more than nature, but something perhaps unnatural. . . respect, honor, tolerance, acceptance , living together and celebrating our differences. . .  Nature knows no such things. Animals have strict territory, and barely accept their own kind , much less other species. Even the Elms struggle against the Oaks for light and water. . .  one as intelligent as yourself, Lhanir, i would hope would see what we offer here , and what we defend here. . . is hardly of this world, and you are welcome to share in it.
   Rav . . .  I am with you in the destruction of undead and will assist in all ways i am able. Now that we have clearance to engage on foreign soil, we need not behave as fanatics nor thieves... sneaking wildly bringing destruction . . .  We will march together, with the honor of Asteria's Tempus. . .  with Lhanir's passion for saving nature . . . with my concern for each and every one of you and the future of this House . . .  and with Crypto's caution.
   I wish to point out. . .that THIS is exactly what the House of Redemption stands for. . . diversity coming together and empowering each other.  In this, i commend you all. I welcome you all. I support you all.

Ok I believe that concludes this meeting. Every one keep a eye for any thing that may be use full to aid this endeavor. Potions, scrolls, wands, rods, any thing.

Let's all meet back here in a week and see were stand, skill wise, comfort level, and any items that may have been found to aid in this.

Dear, friends, and loved ones, I Ravossel once again call forth another meeting in the public meeting room at House of Redemption. This meeting is once again for discussing, and planning on how to attack the Dark orb that's on the slopes of Krag, and what every one will be doing during this time.

Many of you may not like, trust, care for each other. Many of you hold on to old wounds, hates, grudges, and believes. What I ask of you all is to put thees feelings off to the side, and stand along side me in the war against the waking dead. Stand along side me my friends, and loved ones in this battle against the walking dead, so that we! The living can live through thees dark times, live through this war against the walking dead. For if we the living do't band together our homes will burn, the land will die, and be come corrupted by there taint.

I beg, and plead to you all to stand at my side, so our homes do't burn, our family's slain, and to protect the innocent from the horrors of this war. Stand at my side, and forget the old hates, and wounds of times past, so that we the living can win this war against the walking dead. For if we do not band to gather we might as well lost this war.
