Another Blow to the Kuo Toa forces Empty
PostSubject: Another Blow to the Kuo Toa forces   Another Blow to the Kuo Toa forces EmptySun Jun 08, 2014 6:36 pm

((So may have gotten a slight bit carried away writing this appologies cool picture at the bottom though, few minor embelishments for dramatics sake))

Having heard the victory over the champion of the Kuo Toa, Yath'tallar Mi'reli Dabel'kith decided it was high time to push this advantage to remind the Kuo Toa's of their place.

She led a small strike force of her house, three accompanied her: the Quel'faruk Elvlyn, Draada Kharn, and the Linthar Briztana left the Dabel'kith compound cutting a path of destruction towards the lake of shadows.

Cutting down any that stood in their way it was not long before they reached the vast shores of the lake. A short way off a Kuo Toa ranted jibberish before a crude shrine to their god. Word had it travellers would leave tribute to give safe passage from the kraken. Yet giving tribute was the actions of the weak giving deference to the strong. Those gathered here were not weak, Mi'reli was sure of it.

Striding straight for the raft the group embarked and pushed away from the shore.

It was soon after they cast off they struck, 8 heads rose from the water shrilling loudly and they suddenly and relentlessly unleashed a barrage of spells on the group.

Taken by surprise by the furosity of this surprise attack forced the group to pull back, with some well placed spells from the Quel'faruk the group was able to get to the other side of the lake away from the krakens who shrilled triumphantly.

That shrill cut especially deep in the Yath'tallar as she stood on the shore looking out across the waves. She could not let this stand as it was, how could the Kuo Toa learn its proper place if their "God" could force off their assault. She had to show her dominance over such creatures, make them feel fear, fear of her, fear of Lolth.

"Continue on, bring dossta blades to bear on the Kuo Toa." Her gaze never waivered from the lake as she continued "Usstan have unfinished business"

Despite protests she climbed back onto the raft, calling forth the blessings of lolth upon her. They had taken her by surprise last time, not now.

No sooner did she draw close did they renew their assault; Meteors rained from the sky but Mi'reli sidestepped each blast as chunks of the raft were taken down, Hands of force shot at her in close succession, each to fizzle inches before her.
Next came the necromantic spells, areas popped into existance around her the attempted to suck her very life force from her, while some fizzled and dissipated a few were strong enough to push through her defences. She gritted her teeth anger burning in her eyes, now was the time to counterattack.

Dark energy wrapped around her hand as she held it forth towards two of the heads. She could sense their life force being dragged from the creatures, drawn to her hand like a moth to a flame. She felt their life drain from their bodies and become her own, cuts healing, and a fire burning within as she fed off them. Two down.

While they did not let up on the attack she could see the first signs of uncertainty in them, they had come seeing prey, they had not expected the prey to fight back.

She knew she had to push forwards, use that moment. She gathered the energy she had just siphoned from the beasts, letting it flow through her as she called out.

"Gra'zuul Come forth. I have need, Feast on my enemies and you may have the soul of those you slay"

She let the power ripple forwards as a cut in the dimension opened above the next head. A Balor wreathed in fire dropped through landing on the next head. She diddnt have time to watch, she needed to keep pushing the attack lest they regroup. Three down

Her gaze shifted around her eyeing the heads remaining. They fixed on one, not far from her position, it looked to have gotten over the initial shock and was preparing to return to the assault once more. She outstretched an arm, grasping power as she rose her hand into a fist pouring her hate and anger for these creatures into the storm, that churned into life around it engulfing it. Four down.

The creatures seeing how usless their spells were being, three charged in attempting to overturn the raft. Mi'reli turned to them calling once more upon lolths blessings to press forwards, charging the oncoming heads. She layed blow after blow into them, two fell incinerated in fire, the third retreated back to a safe distance. Six Down

Mi'reli stopped, looking for the next attack. None came, the two remaining heads waited at a distance watching. Her ranged spells used up, she watched them expecting an attack to come. Neither head, seemed to want to move closer, having learnt their lesson. She could see fear in their eyes.

It was something of a stalemate, she could not reach them, they dared not attack.

For minutes they watched each other, no sound but the lapping of waves against the boat. It seemed like it was about to go on all cycle when in the distance another vessel approached. Neither side made a move but a grin appeared on the Yath'tallar's face when she recognised the figure on board.

The Quel'faruk stepped onto the boat bowing to Mi'reli as he stepped over one of the corpses. If he was surprised by the scene he certainly diddn't show it

"Just in time" She said naut taking her eyes on the creatures
"Usstan was at a bit of an impasse, break it and bring them in so usstan can finish this"

He replied with a bow and unleashed a barrage of missiles into the damaged one felling it, seven down.

Seeing the truth of its situation the last head made a desperate charge for the boat. Fear obvious in its eyes, it had come to this fight so sure of itself and now it stood alone.

There was a crack of thunder and silence.

"So now that you've bested the avatar of a usurper deity what next shall we do?" The quel'faruk broke the silence

Mi'reli sat at the edge of the raft, the water looking serene and quiet compared to how it had been before.

"Catch up with the others" She stood looking across the scene of her carnage "This was a bweal day"

The Kraken, having struck and struck again, could not dislodge the travelers even when it brought it's gifts from The Bitch Goddess of the Sea herself to bear. Chastened, it withdrew what was left of its maimed tentacles and drifted down towards the shadowed murk of the lake bottom in a delirium of pain. Sensing its distress, a large form swiftly departs from the Shrine of The Claw and swims towards the behemoth.

Later on a trilling call goes out and Kuo Toans descend on the shrine en masse.
