A paladin's prayer to Corellon Empty

A male Or'Tel kneels in the Seldarine temple. He slouches slightly, his shoulders loose, his head hung slightly low.

He simply stares at the floor, eyes wide and unblinking, as if staring right through.

He prays quietly under his breath, but loud enough for any within a few feet to hear him.

"Father...my Creator...please, help me. I'm slipping from Your path and I fear that if I continue, I will fall from Your grace.

I beg you Father, send to me another of my path that I might be guided back to Your light."

He continues with some of the more common prayers of blessings and aid. After some time, he would simply kneel there in silence.

A paladin's prayer to Corellon Empty

Standing proud would be one way to start. . .

Walking up behind the elf, comes a female elf, seemingly moon elf, clad in shining mithral & gold armor, sword and shield on her back. On the chest-piece of the fullplate, over the heart, sits a symbol of Corellon, as well as a symbol hanging from the necklace the warrior is wearing.

Remember your vows cousin, they're the foundation of your connection to our father. They are the promise that you made to our father, and the reasons that you gained his grace. Whenever you're in doubt, seek back to those words.

On Isendur's back, the female elf would see a pastel green cloak embroidered with the symbol of Corellon.

"I thought I was walking His path, and doing what He would command.

"I tried to help a new friend defend her crown and country from traitors. It turns out we were deceived, and we only aided in war against the crown.

"I tried to protect the town of Shadowdale from descendants of dhaerow, by striking them down as I know Father would.

"And yet...I feel myself falling."

He would turn to the woman with a look of despair worn clearly on his face.

"Help me, cousin. Show me the way back to His light..."

An old stern looking sun-elf, clad in the blue garments of the Corellion clergy walks over, his hands folded on his lower back.

His chestnutred hair with silver lines in it, is pulled tight back in a ponytail and his skin seems paperthin across his sharply chizzled face. His emerald green eyes gaze on the paladin with a stern look in them.

The elder, stops some meters away form Isendur, wanting to see what the moonelf has to say on the matter first it seems.

The elven woman glances to the approching sunelf for a moment, sending him a gentle smile, before looking back to the other paladin.

I can hardly judge, knowing so little of the situations which you describe. Only Corellon would know, so it's not my place to do so.

Helping those in need, specially our own kin, is always something we should strive to do, however, above all, we are a force of good, and sadly we're also faced with the many evils of this world, such and that of lies and deceit. It's then that we should right our wrongs, as best as we can.

As for the matters with Shadowdale, while I agree we should never dismiss the danger that's dhaerow blood, Shadowdale in itself allows those vile creature in the town, I also saw half-orc there. And it's then that we can only advice them against it, for we are in their lands, and we must follow their laws.

Now stand up cousin, dispair doesn't suit our kind, respeak your vows to our lord, like the day you first took your oath.

The elderly sun-elf frowns slightly before his face returns to its normal stern, calm look.

"There is no "however"... Corellons cause is the elven cause and stands above everything else.

Kin, what ever it be high-elf or sylvan is kin and we are all...creations of Our Farther.

To set aside ones kin, in order to aid those not of the people is...un-elven.

We are the children of the Seldarine.

But while we should not vissit violence upon the lesser races, unless they bring it on themselves by their reckless and selfish actions, we should never feel obliged to defend them where our own kin could need our help ever more so.

That is the elven way. The way of Corellon. The people must allways come first."

With that, he regards both of them with a stern look his face otherwise emotionless.

Isendur stands to his feet and turns to address the sun elf.

"My friend is an elven woman from Cormyr. She may not be from our home but she is still our people. That is why I promised to aid her."

The female elf glances back to the sun elf as he finishes his speech.

While I agree that should the need arise, I will defend my kin till my last breath, it will only be those that deserve such. These lands have shown me much I didn't know, alas I have also learned off some of our own kin, which I'm saddened to say, I would not defend, for either they are needless aggressors and tyrants, or they've shown that their path lies with evil in other ways.

Brenor smirks slightly, perhaps mostly to himself, before he regards them both.

"Oh I agree sister. If my time as councilor to Her Grace taught me anything it was that some of the most "unelven" behavior in these lands, is all too often concucted by elves. Elves who should know better."

He straightens slightly with a nigh un-noticeably groan and looks to the Paladin.

"Let this..episode.. be a lesson to you, perhaps even a lesson Corellon wishes you to have learned.
Take it with you, learn from it and remember it well.

Knowing the truth and to act with care is ever the wiser option, specially for those of the people, and perhaps even more so for one who seeks to walk the path of a champion of Our Farther."
