The Tales of Men Empty
PostSubject: The Tales of Men   The Tales of Men EmptyWed Aug 27, 2014 3:31 pm

Beginning at noon on no particular day the genasi named Quintin Thundersson would make his way through the markets of town and purchasing a large quantity of food. Meat pies, breads, a cheese wheel, sweets, fruits and even getting a few skins of ale and sweetened milk to pile into a bin that he carried from stall to stall. With each vendor, baker and farmer that sold him the goods he would make sure to try and converse with them to learn how they are doing and glean as much about their day-to-day as possible before he paid them their due and move on.

His agenda was to get enough of a variety and a large amount of food that he could carry around the town. For each beggar that begged for coin or a meal he would stop and offer them their choice of food from the bin he carried around. He allowed them to eat their fill and even encouraged them to take some more for later if they so desired.

All while they ate he would try to strike up a casual conversation with these people to learn their names and their tales that they were willing to share today. He wouldn't press any of them to share beyond what they felt comfortable sharing. His primary intent to just gather as much information about these beggars while extending a hand of support for the time.

( More than willing to pay the gold required for this. )

( Made a gallery. Should make it easier to look at the screenshots without stretching the board out. )

Five days later Quintin would make the same run among the beggars and orphans. He would follow the same method as before: purchasing a large surplus of perishable foods that he would then offer about town to any beggar or child asking for coin or food. Even taking the time to encourage them to eat if they seemed hesitant as well as offer them food to take away if they were so inclined.

Just like before he would also ask them for their names and story while being as respectful and cordial as he can manage. Certainly he would stop pressing questions the moment of unease came over them to allow them their meals in peace.

( Like before I am willing to pay the gold required for this. He would attempt to reach as many people he can during the day light hours and making multiple stops to merchants to get more food if required. Always carrying only what he can carry by his own person. )

Later that same night he moved under the cover of darkness to the nearby bandit camp. His agenda here was merely to watch the people entering and leaving the compound while staying out of sight. Here he kept a keen eye out to see if those same beggars or orphans he fed earlier in the day had any dealings with this group of thugs. In a spot overlooking the camp he would lay and take full advantage of his dark cloak and hood while in the shadow of a tree to stay out of sight. He wouldn't stray from his spot until the sun began to rise or to move away temporarily if a group of bandits made their way closer to him.

( Would certainly be willing to play this out if any DM is interested. He'd make use of his Darkvision granted by being a genasi and keep an eye on the areas that most of the thugs came in and out of the camp. Willing to make rolls necessary for this recon mission but would prefer to keep them in PMs. )
