A short bio-
Bourstag Chermosk is a man who has no qualms about killing and manipulating others to get what he wants. He values his own opinion above anyone else’s. He is a dirty and scruffy looking brigand who rarely bathes. His hair kept in a ponytail matted with mud and various other things. His cheeks lined with superficial scars. His facial hair is patchy and trashy looking, the most remarkable thing about him his silvery tongue. He uses a falchion whenever he can and has versatile skills. He often makes his way from Amn to the Dalelands every year during the trade events. He has left countless people injured, maimed, and murdered in his wake. Bourstag has countless children across Amn. He has a way with women interestingly enough despite his grim appearance and violent nature. Perhaps it is because the only honest and natural relationship he has had with another Human Being while in this realm was with his Mother. He has a strong respect for the weak in general because he spent his youth sickly and malnourished. His motives are always dark but he does look out for the underdog because deep down he is an Anti-hero. He will rob and steal from Women and Children but he would never hurt them but he has no qualms about ending another man’s life.

Character strengths: His abiding loyalty to Bane. He serves the Darklord and will never cower. He has a strong mind and is tough as nails. He values people’s opinions very little.

Character flaws: Never listens to reason if he feels a certain way about something. This man cares for his own opinion but is willing to work with others for his own survival. He will try and manipulate those around him in order to make sure he comes out on top. His physical weakness is his resistance to spells. He is unable to protect his mind against mages and he hates them for this.

Where are they from?: Originally this Character from Amn and is a hired sword for anyone who needs his skills. He often robs people but he will keep his word as well. He hunts when he can and survives off of the land. He often brawls in taverns for the fun of it or participates in gambling also. Bourstag is a man who will die with his boots on.

Where are they traveling to?: He is traveling anywhere caravans and merchants take him. He is often found on the roads around local towns in the Dales as of late. Looking for work wherever he can find it, and he keeps track of who is sharply dressed while in towns. He has a little black notebook that he keeps and writes notes down about the people he meets. He may be creating a list of some kind… He is searching for a group of bandits to join if he gets the chance. He delights in the horror of others and loves to see people cower in front of himself. He always takes mementos of those he kills, but he never kills in cold blood. He always has a systematic approach when he converses with others. He never just enjoys people for who they are instead he always looks for ways to destroy their ego or happiness.
Why?: Bourstag commits these heinous acts because that is the way he has been raised since he was a young man. He grew up with travelers and road thugs. He learned quickly to protect himself from others. Unfortunately as a young man he was mistreated in all sorts of different ways by the older men of the insurgents. Bourstag grew a thick skin and swore to never let anyone get close to him.

A short bio

Wu Ling was born in the nation of Shou Lung. Abandoned shortly after birth for being sickly, he managed to survive at an orphanage, but has always battled with his somewhat frail body. He became a street rat, taking what he could to survive and stealing from small time businesses and houses when it wasn't enough. He was eventually caught stealing from a temple of monks following "The Way", which was set to turn him into the authorities. One Monk took pity on him, and offered him another choice: Join the temple, and turn away from his wicked ways. He choose the later and joined the temple.

The Temple of The Way taught him reading and writing and exercises to both martial and spiritual growth. He had been rehabilitated, and lived there with the monks, the first people to ever show him compassion. When he came of age, he was set to try for civil service examinations and join the government as an official. He took the test and was denied. No reason given, he was distraught. His brothers calmed him, and he trained for next years trials. When it came he again took them and again he failed. Angry and filled with contempt, he fell to the reasoning that it must be that the temple did not give him the proper training and blamed them for his failure.

He decided to change his training from the temple, to alter it. He began to read books of less then honorable martial arts, and books about shadow magics. He started to incorporate them into his training, and made his own combat style, which he dubbed "The Shadow Fox" Style. It employed using both tricks on and off the field to win, from using poisons to kill opponents and dirty tricks to win fights. Wu Ling came to the conclusion that if someone can do these things, it was there right to do it.

He began to start his old life of breaking and entering again as practice for his new technique. He would steal and possible murder those that would try to stop them. Unknown to Ling, his old mentor followed him one night and confronted him as he was stealing from a house. He told his master of his plans and the master branded him a disgrace to the temple. Humiliated and unable to win against the master that had taught him to fight, he fled, and went to the neutral city of Kai Shen. There his skills were recognized quickly by the crime syndicate Tsui Tong, whom took him in as a hit-man and bounty hunter, all the while he began to perfect his Shadow Fox technique.

Wu Ling surmised that if wanted Shadow Fox to grow with members, he needed money, and began to skim money from the Tsui Tong. The bosses slowly grew aware of this, and were getting ready to kill Wu Ling for his treachery. Ling also became aware of the plans, and decided to escape via the trade routes to the west, the only real way to be safe from the wrath of the Tsui Tong. He drifted among the ships and eventually made his way to the Dalelands, a melting pot. He even surmises he may be able to grow his precious way of fighting by taking on students and starting his own organization of men.

Character strengths: Wu Ling has High intellect and speed, and highly trained in combat and cunning tactics. He has limited shadow magics and will attempt to finish a fight before it even starts. His Shadow Fox style employs stealthy first strikes and both standard attacks and disabling the enemy via pressure point strikes while using distracting feints and shadow magics to empower his defense and gain opportunities to strike. He has some competence in thievery and breaking and entering.

Character flaws: The biggest flaw of Wu Ling is himself, pointing either to his sickly body, or his arrogance and prideful nature of himself. He holds grudges to of those that offend him, and believes in general that he is the smartest man in the room. He will follow those that he believes helps himself, but has problems being told what to do and is not above betraying people (Thought he would rather not).

Where are they from?: Shou Lung (His home nation, similar to China)

Where are they traveling to?: The Dalelands via trade routes between Kai Shen (Similar to Hong Kong) and the Zhentarim Network. (The Tsui Tong, a criminal organization similar to the Triad, are rumored to trade with the Zhentarim Network)

Why?: Escaping persecution from the law. He is alleged in performing dark arts as well as being a member of the Tsui Tong.

A test event, they ran through a dungeon with two large bosses. Worked through traps, and found some items.

Event 1: The woods

Event: Starting with a the caravan, the group was traveling through the Gnarled Wood on their way to each of their own destinations. However, the caravan lost control of the horses and began to bolt through the woods. Without a driver, the party was soon in danger of being thrown by the wagon or impaled by the quickly passing treelimbs. Having managed to escape relatively unharmed, the men found themselves lost in the Gnarled Wood. A bell tolling in the background. It was soon found they were being stalked by a large shadow that watched every move they made. The woods are cursed and hostile, nearly drowning the men through an encounter with a Siren. They sought shelter in a cave, but not before the shadow that had been stalking them grabbed hold of Michael. Therefore cursing his leg and rending him unable to run.

Event: They traveled through the cave they had found, and discovered the shadow would not enter with them. Presuming themselves safe, the hin ventured to crawl under a pile of rocks, and was nearly crushed. It was here they first encountered The Spider. Escaping just before the hin's death, the party ventured on as the shadows played tricks with their minds. They were almost out when they were caught be the spider's web. They struggled, bringing The Spider to them, and nearly killing them. They escaped with their lives and chose to move further down into the earth.

Event: They stumbled upon the catacombs of the Bell Tower. Surviving the traps that could kill them instantly. (including a completely and totally unfounded critical to save the hin!) Having learned the history behind the bell tower and the Gnarled Woods from a speaking statue, the party has agreed to help this statue, and in return, use it to find their way home.
