| After a rather concerned discussion between himself, Ivaris and Kasia, Sordoc decides to spend some time watching the river Ashaba within the walls of shadowdale, making enquiries of the local fishermen for any unusual catches or changes to the flow of the river. He also to be jotting down notes about rough measurements about the widths and depths of each of the bridges that cross the Ashaba, and badgering fishermen for depths of various parts of the river. He also seems to be concerned about making notes on which parts of the river bank seem shallow enough to climb in and out. Whilst looking around the river close to the twisted tower, he seems more interested in the expanded river bank then the actual ruins.
He can also be seen walking along the edge of the shadowdale walls towards the river, muttering things like, "Mayhaps a touch o' doivin'" or " pos'ble potenshul weakness" | |

| The local fishermen do not have any reports of strange catches. They also do not seem to have noticed any change in the river's flow. From everything they explain, it could be said things are rather normal and the only concern they have is of potential flooding. They explain that can happen every spring, however.
When asked about the depth, the fisherman seem to all be of the general consensus that the river can get "pretty damn deep". One says that he believes it to be about three stories deep, but he hasn't gone swimming to find out.
There are a few places that could be shallow enough to walk, but they do not seem to be large in number. The shore itself could easily be walked but once it gets to be a couple yards in from the shore, it's rather deep (especially for a gnome).

| After a short discussion with Therion on somewhat related business, Sordoc one more goes to badger the fishermen, and whilst badgering them, he'll help out with what he can. He does seem to be interested in the fish and similar creatures of the river, especially what he seems to be dubious about, the so called Ashaba Giant Black Carp. He seems mostly interested in the habits of such a creature, if they have been seen recently (or at all), and what sorta ways the fisherfolk defend themselves against such a creature (of possible myth). | |
