He would take brief breaks from the manually intensive labor to get some water and food, in the process he would be checking on the guards and the condition of Vincent while he was in the House of Plenty as well as the condition of the Knight that was mauled. | Malkaris would take stock of everything that was going on and generally help with keeping people safe at night from disorderly and angry citizens. Despite his ominous visage with his dark hood and all, he would still give any children running about little branches that he'd find on the ground and would infuse them with light, a holdover from his Aasimari heritage.
"Be brave little one, take this sword of light and hold it close." he would tell them, his voice low but charismatic, to put them at ease and give them a sense of security in the tiny light amidst all this darkness.
----------------------
Vharad is busy also being a philanthropist. He would shoo anyone nearing him so that he could get work done. He walks about gathering any fragments of the undead laid low, if any, and would take it to a research station, along with materials on how to form barriers that would protect against undead, lest he lose a backwards, but relatively peaceful area to research the undead from!
His movements are not harried, but purposeful. He is a busy man, trying to solve a magical problem and brooks no interruption unless it's important.

| Much like her brother in faith, Amasur Reynolds, Leeora was towards the rearguard, specifically to the West. By some stroke of luck, she had not been patrolling the North of Shadowdale that day.
Seeing that there are already many healers and divine casters going to work over the injured and dead, Leeora decides to try to gather some of the children and tell stories to them and keep them entertained, away from the death and destruction that has befell their town. If any of the children were injured, she'd pray to the Morninglord to mend their wounds and she would then cast healing magics over them. Otherwise, she seems to do what she can to take some of the stress away from the parents. Noting how many are dead, she realizes just how possible it is that some of these very children are now orphans. Plans are made in her head for such a case.
Seeing Malkaris aid with the children as well, she gets a warm smile, her expression one full of relief. It seems to brighten her own day to see someone giving light to the poor younglings. She would motion for Malkaris to join her in entertaining the children for now, if he so chooses.

| Malkaris would look up a moment, blue lights peering at her curiously for a moment before his shoulders drop ever so slightly. He shakes his head slowly, but offers the children a bit of encouragement to go to Leeora, little light sticks given to them.
He strikes an imposing figure due to the darker nature of his armor, but it's coldness clashes with the warmth of his actions. This mysterious figure, hooded with his face somewhat obscured, raven black hair flowing out, strikes an odd picture. He would turn to leave, giving Leeora a trusting nod, sending other children to her as he walks about taking in the rest of the damage. | |

| Jonah walks by, and notices Malkaris giving out his little Light Sticks. He would give the Knight a clap on the shoulder, and an encouraging smile -- it is plain to see that Jonah delights in seeing these children at ease.
Too soon though, Jonah continues on his way, busy tending to the wounded as well as the dead. | |

With the efforts of so many tending to the wounded, all of the injured seem to be doing alright and are on the mend. Of the 124 that were in need of medical assistance, about 20 will need continued care. Otherwise, the rest seem to be capable to move around and go back to their duties/homes. The 20 still in need of assistance include: 3 commoners, 2 militiamen, 2 guards, 2 Helmites, 1 Lathandrite, 3 Black Hounds, 3 Vymmars Mercs, 4 Ultore Mercs. Of the 88 dead, 53 are able to be brought back to the realm of the living. They are dazed and confused, not quite knowing what had happened. They will be in need of rest, but they will make it. He had awoken like normal, went downstairs to buy a meal and found everyone rushing around.
He hadn't known what had happened until things had calmed. And now he was stuck in a strange limbo of being unable to do much. Moric wasn't a healer, the fighting was over so he couldn't fight anything...he was just, there.
He had to find something to do. He couldn't heal very well, he couldn't fight anything (at least, unless they decided to attack again.) He was a man of limited skill, and he wasn't certain where to apply it. That is until he saw the wreckage.
Rebuilding was a messy process. It was filled with dust, debris, and long hours of backbreaking labor. He excelled at menial labor, he was built for it. It wasn't very glamorous or exciting, but it was needed. So Moric went out into the town into the farms and rented a hay-cart, pulling it down the road towards the wreckage on a quiet mission.
Slowly but surely, rubble would begin to be moved about by the adventurers. The guards and militia themselves do not help at the time, trying to focus mainly on watching for more attacks. One Iron Golem is used to help clear rubble as well. It will likely take some time before everything is cleared out and made safe again. The Hospital will take quite a bit of work and the Town Hall is completely destroyed. Guard Duty- Each Person's Aid:

He will dispose of any undead remains with his rod of dragon fire, non-undead bodies such as some of the amnish mercenaries, will have been set to one side, covered with blankets or his battered cloak and watched, just in case.
Upon being relieved by a guard patrol, Sordoc will move away from the gate, look for a comfy bit of unburnt grass and pass out from exhaustion.
With the ever present smell of death and blood in the air and the wails of the weak, Sordoc will keep away from the temporary places of healing to avoid the chance of losing his calm within town and following his god's wishes.

If any wounded guard happens to stumble past the gate, she would offer what meager healing she can (Laying hands or channeling positive energy).
When the sun rises the following morn, she makes her way back to the inn.
Guards and militiamen alike seem incredibly relieved that so many are willing to step up and help with guard duty. This could likely determine that it's buddy, the other horse, has passed. The wagon and House of the Moonmaiden seem alright. - Malkaris wrote:
- Malkaris would take stock of everything that was going on and generally help with keeping people safe at night from disorderly and angry citizens.
The children look to feel better with their "swords of light" and look more comfortable. A couple of them "sword fight" with each other, saying that one day they will be great paladins and save everyone in the lands with their light. - Malkaris wrote:
- Vharad is busy also being a philanthropist.
Vharad would be able to find a few bits and pieces within the town, but it's likely that it was mainly incorpreal Undead that were inside the center of town causing the fires. One thing in particular he finds is a blackened heart of reanimation. - adaywithoutrain wrote:
- Much like her brother in faith, Amasur Reynolds, Leeora was towards the rearguard, specifically to the West.
The children happily get distracted by the stories and parents relieved they can assess the damages of their own places. Whether or not there are orphans just yet remains to be seen. But it may be likely. - cyurn wrote:
- As the dawn rises a grey woman approaches from the plains - taking in the carnage and destruction and slowly learning the extend of the attack.
..who could have known that being out of the town after nightfall would turn out a lifesaver..
After talking to some locals she begins to walk through the rubble, putting out embers where it still glows and looking for unlucky souls that got buried under debris and might still live. Strangely enough she seems to be searching with closed eyes at times.
Before nightfall she turns to the city limits again .. leaving for the plains and erasing her presence from the numerous souls now gathered in the city.
((Gwenneth uses "detect spirits" to find buried people, in addition to mundane searching, and "warding of spirits" to become invisible to spirit-creatures at night)) Gwenneth would have been able to find a couple people caught under rubble. Thanks to her quick thinking on that, they are likely going to survive and are healed in the areas they are taken to. If it was not for her, they may have been caught under there for days and possible perished. OOC: Next Step((I'm pretty sure I got everyone here Stay tuned for a post in the coming days as to how the DM team will be coordinating efforts against the server plot. For now, thank you everyone for your wonderful RP here. I am going to lock this for now. Any continued RP is welcome in other threads, of course )) | |

| Further Healing, More Dead A Caravan's FateA wagon arriving at Shadowdale delivers a small number of people. The driver states that it was from the attack of a caravan with horses and hounds. It seems that this is what's left of that contingiency: 4 Militiamen, 2 Helmites, and 3 Purple Knights. Along with these soldiers, there also seems to be 7 children, 6 elderly, and 4 women among them. Those that knew what the original caravan was for would know that these people aren't likely from it. The driver states that the rest of those that they found were dead and their bodies burned so the Undead couldn't take them. They seem very malnourished. But wait, there's more!A strange thing begins to happen to those that are injured within town and still being cared for. Three people seem violently ill, all three appearing to be having the same symptoms, though at varying conditions. One's skin seems to have reached an almost completely liquid-like state and...melted off. He screams in agony, kept far away from others as people scramble to try to figure out what to do. The others' skin seems to begin to look off, but they aren't quite at the state he is. - Darree arrives in town and does her best to organize a few people (townsfolk primarily) to set up a sort of cooking station. Her logic is that if plenty of food is being cooked in one place and is made available to the workers/soldiers/everybody, those who couldn't get food can get it and those working will be well fed.
The hin travels about asking people if they can spare some food for the effort (she has some of her own to add, but not nearly enough). She has a good supply of pots and pans and sees if she can secure a few more (asking around at the inn). In whatever space she can find she begins lighting fires and cutting vegetables and meat to get several large pots of stew cooking. She, of courses, makes sure this is permissible first. Those who ask for one are served a bowl of the stew provided they have their own bowl! It's pretty good given the circumstances and the likely low quality of the ingredients, though perhaps a bit lean.
Whatever supplies she can't get for free she purchases with her own money where possible. ((Feel free to subtract whatever amount is needed from her gold)) It seems that food was something people were beginning to worry about. With the recent flooding, crops just weren't available as much. The people of Shadowdale were now facing the beginnings of a food shortage once more. Luckily, some people recognize the need for feeding everyone, so they willingly help Darree out with food supplies. There are a few, however, that implore her to pay what she can due to the fact that they have to be able to make money if they want to survive. A few people even step up to help her cook, doing what they can to chop up the veggies and meat and potatoes. Once the stew is finished, people line up to get some of the stew and it would quickly be eaten right up. ((Will take away some money from you in game sometime.)) | |
