Maura's Relevant Mechanics:

Maura can be seen making the trip up the Old Skull Tor every morning at sunrise to pray at the stone shrine. She comes down after not too long and heads to the Chauntean Temple in a more comfortable tunic and leggings with a belt around her waist. The symbol of Shaundakul would be embroidered on a cloth band she wears tied around her left bicep. Her pack over her shoulder, she goes through the doors and finds the nearest authority figure. She'd introduce herself by her name and title, Windwalker. Though, they probably know her by now with the number of times she's helped with the casualties of previous bloody incidents.

She would offer healing, resurrection, curse removal, pain mitigation ((the purpose of having Shield Other and Bear's Endurance available)) heavy lifting, and anything else she can. She would also inquire about any fallen followers of Shaundakul, offering to oversee their last rights. ((She has also posted a flier on the notice board concerning this inquiry.))

Therion would be seen roaming through out Shadowdale, helping with the ruble and rebuilding the Hospital as his primary focus for the time being, as he has no real medical knowledge or divine capabilities. He would take brief breaks from the manually intensive labor to get some water and food, in the process he would be checking on the guards and the condition of Vincent while he was in the House of Plenty as well as the condition of the Knight that was mauled. Still waiting to ask him some questions.

Malkaris would take stock of everything that was going on and generally help with keeping people safe at night from disorderly and angry citizens. Despite his ominous visage with his dark hood and all, he would still give any children running about little branches that he'd find on the ground and would infuse them with light, a holdover from his Aasimari heritage.

"Be brave little one, take this sword of light and hold it close." he would tell them, his voice low but charismatic, to put them at ease and give them a sense of security in the tiny light amidst all this darkness.

----------------------

Vharad is busy also being a philanthropist. He would shoo anyone nearing him so that he could get work done. He walks about gathering any fragments of the undead laid low, if any, and would take it to a research station, along with materials on how to form barriers that would protect against undead, lest he lose a backwards, but relatively peaceful area to research the undead from!

His movements are not harried, but purposeful. He is a busy man, trying to solve a magical problem and brooks no interruption unless it's important.

---------------------

Ashara Fellheart, A Jergalite priestess would help in any last rites, or rituals for burials.

Much like her brother in faith, Amasur Reynolds, Leeora was towards the rearguard, specifically to the West. By some stroke of luck, she had not been patrolling the North of Shadowdale that day.

Seeing that there are already many healers and divine casters going to work over the injured and dead, Leeora decides to try to gather some of the children and tell stories to them and keep them entertained, away from the death and destruction that has befell their town. If any of the children were injured, she'd pray to the Morninglord to mend their wounds and she would then cast healing magics over them. Otherwise, she seems to do what she can to take some of the stress away from the parents. Noting how many are dead, she realizes just how possible it is that some of these very children are now orphans. Plans are made in her head for such a case.

Seeing Malkaris aid with the children as well, she gets a warm smile, her expression one full of relief. It seems to brighten her own day to see someone giving light to the poor younglings. She would motion for Malkaris to join her in entertaining the children for now, if he so chooses.

Malkaris would look up a moment, blue lights peering at her curiously for a moment before his shoulders drop ever so slightly. He shakes his head slowly, but offers the children a bit of encouragement to go to Leeora, little light sticks given to them.

He strikes an imposing figure due to the darker nature of his armor, but it's coldness clashes with the warmth of his actions. This mysterious figure, hooded with his face somewhat obscured, raven black hair flowing out, strikes an odd picture. He would turn to leave, giving Leeora a trusting nod, sending other children to her as he walks about taking in the rest of the damage.

Jonah walks by, and notices Malkaris giving out his little Light Sticks.  He would give the Knight a clap on the shoulder, and an encouraging smile -- it is plain to see that Jonah delights in seeing these children at ease.

Too soon though, Jonah continues on his way, busy tending to the wounded as well as the dead.

Healing and the Dead

Each Person's Aid:

With the efforts of so many tending to the wounded, all of the injured seem to be doing alright and are on the mend. Of the 124 that were in need of medical assistance, about 20 will need continued care. Otherwise, the rest seem to be capable to move around and go back to their duties/homes. The 20 still in need of assistance include:

3 commoners, 2 militiamen, 2 guards, 2 Helmites, 1 Lathandrite, 3 Black Hounds, 3 Vymmars Mercs, 4 Ultore Mercs.

Of the 88 dead, 53 are able to be brought back to the realm of the living. They are dazed and confused, not quite knowing what had happened. They will be in need of rest, but they will make it. The 35 that did not answer the call include:

5 commoners, 6 militia, 11 guards, 2 Lathandrites, 2 Black Hounds, 2 Rose Knights, 1 Knight of the Eternal Order, 2 Bladesmile Mercs, 1 Vymmar Merc, 3 Ultore Mercs. It seems everyone has faced a loss.

Last Rites are given to all but the Lathandrites, Black Hounds, and Rose Knights. These dead have been sent back to their respective places (Morning Farms, Two Forts, Temple of Love and Beauty, respectively).

UPDATED NUMBERS:

Commoners: (this includes farmers, shop owners, bar maids, potters, basic skilled workers etc) 287 left, thanks to the curfew in effect coupled with the quick action of adventurers around the hospital. Of the 287 left, 3 are in need of continued medical assistance. 5 permanently dead. 33 taken by Undead.
Beggars: 89 left, thanks to the curfew in effect coupled with the quick action of adventurers around the hospital. The beggars have been healed. All were raised. 7 taken by Undead.

Total Non-Combat: 376 left (+/-) with 3 in need of continued medical assistance

Militia: 75 (20 Unknown. They had left to find out where a caravan went. Suspected attack of Undead. Oversight from first post.) left. Of the 75 left, 2 are in need of continued medical assistance. 6 permanently dead. 81 taken by Undead.
Town Guards: 50 left. Of the 50 left, 2 are in need of continued medical assistance. 11 permanently dead. 14 taken by Undead.
Battlemages: 9 left. Of these 9, none are in need of continued medical assistance. All were raised. 2 taken by Undead.
Chauntean Priests/Paladins/Warriors: 12 left. Of the 12, none are in need of continued medical assistance. 3 taken by Undead.
Helmite Heavy Warriors: 10 (20 Unknown. They had left to find out where a caravan went. Suspected attack of Undead.) 10 remain, and of those ten, 2 are in need of continued medical assistance.
Lathandarite Knights: 36 left. Of the 36 left, 1 is in need of continued medical assistance. 2 permanently dead. 2 taken by Undead.
Black Hound Mercenaries: 69 left. Of the 69 left, 3 are in need of continued medical assistance. 2 permanently dead. 4 taken by Undead.
Rose Knights: 20 left. Of the 21 left, none are in need of continued medical assistance. 2 permanently dead. 3 taken by Undead.
Knights of the Eternal Order: 5 left. Of the 5 left, none are in need of continued medical assistance. 1 permanently dead. 2 taken by Undead.
Iron Golems: 2
Bladesmiles Mercenaries: 13 left. Of the 13 left, none are in need of continued medical assistance. 2 permanently dead. 5 taken by Undead.
Vymmars Mercenaries: 14 left. Of the 14 left, 3 are in need of continued medical assistance. 1 permanently dead. 5 taken by Undead.
Ultore Mercenaries: 110 left. Of the 110 left, 4 are in need of continued medical assistance. 3 permanently dead. 37 taken by the Undead.

Total Combat: 423 Left (+/-). Of this number, 17 are in need of medical assistance and unable to fight right now. This leaves total able-bodied combatants at 406.

Total number of those in need of medical assistance: 20 (+/-)
Total number of dead that are in town: 35 (+/-)
Total number of missing dead: 198 (+/-)
Total number living without injuries: 779 (+/-)
Total number of missing: 40 (+/-)

((I could be missing a few, hence the give or take symbols. But this is to give a general idea.))

Damage Control

Each Person's Aid:

Slowly but surely, rubble would begin to be moved about by the adventurers. The guards and militia themselves do not help at the time, trying to focus mainly on watching for more attacks. One Iron Golem is used to help clear rubble as well. It will likely take some time before everything is cleared out and made safe again. The Hospital will take quite a bit of work and the Town Hall is completely destroyed.

Guard Duty

Each Person's Aid:

Guards and militiamen alike seem incredibly relieved that so many are willing to step up and help with guard duty. This seems to take a weight off their shoulders and give them a bit of a respite in such hard times. They are less fatigued and seem capable of holding their own more than if the adventurers hadn't helped.

Vincent, having done all he can do, his armor coated in ash and blood, and completely out of bandages, lets the others take over. He then put his evening to a bottle of wine, and after making his way to the dancing moon to clean up, returned to town and fell into a deep sleep, the images of the dead, dying, and undead, haunting his dreams through out the entire night.

Considering the events, Vincent would likely get his bottle of wine for free that night out of sympathy.

Wu Ling would happen to be House of Plenty at the time of the attack, but watches what he can from the windows inside instead of helping with the attack. He would caution non-combative people inside to stay inside, as it would be safer for them, as he runs his prayer beads through a hand.

Due to this action, many of the Chaunteans stayed within the House of Plenty to aid those none combatants. It could be said that because of Wu's advice, there were less deaths of the Chauntean Priests/Paladins/Warriors as well as beggars.

He will dispose of any undead remains with his rod of dragon fire, non-undead bodies such as some of the amnish mercenaries, will have been set to one side, covered with blankets or his battered cloak and watched, just in case.

What's left of the Undead pieces (which were large in number but some seem to have been taken back by the Undead as well) are burnt to ashes. The amnian merchants that passed to not rise from the dead, and those that are permanently gone are given their last rites by one of their own.

He also went to see poor Dacius, they didn't know each other well, but it was still a great loss. Arran took this time to investigate the magic in the deputies wounds.

He did the same with Vincent who was thankfully alive.

His focus and effort was on discovering exactly what magic the wizard had used. (lore 33, Spellcraft 35)

Arran would be able to tell that it was seriously wicked necromatic magics. Other than that, he can't discern just what was used likely due to them being so horrid, forbidden, and unknown to most.

There are one or two lingering spirits of recently passed that seem to be happily making their way to rest. When spoke to, they seem to be very much at peace. Many of those whom had passed were apparently ready for such fates. They they dissipate into the afterlife- with a smile.

Many of the hin that had been staying in Shadowdale were doing so because they were so stubborn to leave their home. However, they are so shaken with recent events that a few of them do indeed wish to be evacuated- preferably to the rest of the refugees at Myth Drannor.

In the case that all room be spent in houses he would order the erection medical tents to fill the further needs, to those who would ask on who's authority it would be on that of captain Wester Colts

Commander Vorik is seen alive and well- unharmed. He is going around to the guards and doing what he can to organize posts and shifts of watch. He seems very relieved that adventurers are helping with this. Otherwise, he looks extremely busy and purely in work-mode.

Rumor has it that the Elders have not been seen. Some say that two burnt bodies were pulled from the offices of the Town Hall, but they were severely burnt and unrecognizable. No one knows where the Elders are or if they are alive.

Medical tents are erected easily and help keep the injured from getting sick in the rainfall.

You have all known me for a while and for a long time now you have been hearing me talk about strength.  Well I want you to understand what strength means to me.

To me being strong is not about the score board.

It's not about winning.

It's about you.

About your relationship to yourself...

...your family.

...your friends.

Being strong is about being able to look your friends in the eye.  To know that you didn't let them down.   To know that you did everything that you could.

Strength does not come from winning... your struggles develop your strengths.  When you go through hardships and decide not to surrender... That is strength.

We lost a lot of friends.  Strong men and women whom did everything that they could.  Friends whom were not recovered from the battle.

Now when that horde returns, we will see our friends again.  Be sure to look them in the eye and know that you will do everything that you can.

Diplomacy Roll:

Wester's speech inspires the guards and militiamen. Their morale certainly wasn't the best and still isn't great, but with his words, they nod and seem to straighten up. They go about their duties with a more confident step.

He would also try to contact mrs Falconhand, if she's around, to inquire any suggestion related to the current crisis.

EDIT AFTER THE MEETING TONIGHT: Lucent travelled to the Hounds fort straight from Myth Drannor, never making it to Shadowdale. Before coming back to the elven town with the news he collected from the others, he would ask Kasia to check on his horses, wagon house and House of the Moonmaiden to see if the animals are still alive or something got damaged.

A letter would arrive back to Jay stating that the Selunite camp outside the Dales are still facing issues with the Undead army. They apologize over and over for being unable to send aid, but they seem to be facing their own battle with the horrid Undead themselves.

Another letter arrives to him. ((PM Sent))

When Kasia would look to the wagon, animals, and House of the Moonmaiden, she would find that only one horse has returned. It seems to stick very close to Jay and Cleo's wagon, apparently afraid and generally down. It does not seem to eat much, showing possible signs of depression. This could likely determine that it's buddy, the other horse, has passed. The wagon and House of the Moonmaiden seem alright.

Vharad would be able to find a few bits and pieces within the town, but it's likely that it was mainly incorpreal Undead that were inside the center of town causing the fires. One thing in particular he finds is a blackened heart of reanimation.

Further Healing, More Dead

A Caravan's Fate

A wagon arriving at Shadowdale delivers a small number of people. The driver states that it was from the attack of a caravan with horses and hounds. It seems that this is what's left of that contingiency: 4 Militiamen, 2 Helmites, and 3 Purple Knights. Along with these soldiers, there also seems to be 7 children, 6 elderly, and 4 women among them. Those that knew what the original caravan was for would know that these people aren't likely from it. The driver states that the rest of those that they found were dead and their bodies burned so the Undead couldn't take them. They seem very malnourished.

But wait, there's more!

A strange thing begins to happen to those that are injured within town and still being cared for. Three people seem violently ill, all three appearing to be having the same symptoms, though at varying conditions. One's skin seems to have reached an almost completely liquid-like state and...melted off. He screams in agony, kept far away from others as people scramble to try to figure out what to do. The others' skin seems to begin to look off, but they aren't quite at the state he is.

Darree arrives in town and does her best to organize a few people (townsfolk primarily) to set up a sort of cooking station. Her logic is that if plenty of food is being cooked in one place and is made available to the workers/soldiers/everybody, those who couldn't get food can get it and those working will be well fed.

The hin travels about asking people if they can spare some food for the effort (she has some of her own to add, but not nearly enough). She has a good supply of pots and pans and sees if she can secure a few more (asking around at the inn). In whatever space she can find she begins lighting fires and cutting vegetables and meat to get several large pots of stew cooking. She, of courses, makes sure this is permissible first. Those who ask for one are served a bowl of the stew provided they have their own bowl! It's pretty good given the circumstances and the likely low quality of the ingredients, though perhaps a bit lean.

Whatever supplies she can't get for free she purchases with her own money where possible. ((Feel free to subtract whatever amount is needed from her gold))

It seems that food was something people were beginning to worry about. With the recent flooding, crops just weren't available as much. The people of Shadowdale were now facing the beginnings of a food shortage once more. Luckily, some people recognize the need for feeding everyone, so they willingly help Darree out with food supplies. There are a few, however, that implore her to pay what she can due to the fact that they have to be able to make money if they want to survive.

A few people even step up to help her cook, doing what they can to chop up the veggies and meat and potatoes. Once the stew is finished, people line up to get some of the stew and it would quickly be eaten right up. ((Will take away some money from you in game sometime.))
