| A notice is nailed to a tree outside the Crossroads. It is a stiffly made crème colored piece of parchment folded three ways into a neat rectangle. The very center has a large circular wax mark with a word in black ink scribed above it. -TOUCH- - Spellcraft of 20:
The notice is enchanted with a harmless spell
- Touch the Wax Mark:
At your touch, the parchment partially unravels and reforms itself into a crude paper mask. The edges of the parchment shift and express for a pair of eyes and a crude mouth. It moves as it speaks. “Greetings Traveler!"
A man’s voice that bellows with passion, energy, and ambition. Those who know him, call him Twitch. “It has come to my attention, and many of your attentions as well, that we have some vile and dark shadows in our midst. Demons walk among us, dear traveler. Raiding taverns and terrorizing the woods.”
The paper face rolls unseen a pair of fake eyes and continues.
“Which—let’s be honest. Is par for the course? There is always something nor-do-well beside you in this land, but I’ve overheard rumors. Whispers. These degenerates are disguising themselves as the most noble and pure of professions.”
He pauses for effect. The parchment freezes, then blasts back to life with a single shout.
“Carnies! Yes, it’s true. My very own profession has been sullied by these demons. They dare to twist the innocence of my art. My life passion. Into something devious and impure. My Adventurers; we must stop this at once. Stand with me against this onslaught. Sign your name bellow and together we shall show these so-called-demons what it means to tread on land that does not belong to them.”
The parchment unfurls with an over-dramatic flare and unrolls to reveal the rest of the note blank and ready for signatures. A quill floats down from the explosion of paper, and drifts side to side and finally to rest against the bark. At the very bottom, the notice is signed.
The Only Carnival Master of This Land, Twitch.

| Hawkleys' head canted to the side as the scroll began to talk to him.. He seemed rather confused at first- Looking around the nearby area, before it dawned upon him that this was indeed but a spell..
"Mmmh, I remember this 'Twitch' allowing me to befriend an Air Elemental.."
Upon a few moments of though, the Ranger decided to sign his name..
"Hopefully this isn't some sort of binding contract.."
Was his fleeting thought, as he carefully looped together his signature.
'Hawkley Gyre, Trail Guide.'

| Maura is a bit startled by the talking paper mask, but he listens carefully, furrowing his brow at the mention of demons posing as carnies. When it is revealed who the originator of the message is, he happily signs his name: 'Maura Zephyros, Windwalker'.
"Heh. It's the least I can do after all you've done for me, Twitch," he says fondly as he signs his name.

| Ranya carefully reads and then rereads the notice remembering the Pale man, then studies the other names signed and adds his own flowing Script. Ranya Skald of The Rashemi | |

| By the magic properties alone; Ethan Rile is alerted to the note nailed to the tree. His forehead wrinkles as he slowly reaches to touch it but then he stops and thinks while chewing on his bottom lip. He fearfully moves his hand back and slowly steps away from it.
Slowly he shakes his head and whispers to himself "Not falling for this trickery." He turns and walks away.

| Blue would walk by as the mask finishes speaking blue would wave his hand dismissing it saying. *i've had enough of this carnivals crap stupid demon posing as a pale man. feeding of life forces of others using the game to keep them there and them distracted from whats really going on. i know not this twitch fellow and until i do or am forced to help i will not get involved again. blue would also seem amused at the simple magic used. i do miss these types of use of magic they are fun to watch. perhaps i should try using them again or oh well never mind they are entertaining tho perhaps i should meet this twitch feller. with that he moves along never signing it.

| The moment the nail is spotted atop the notice, a familiar redhead pried it out of the tree, regardless of whether or not there were others standing by to sign. Should there have been another or two in proximity, it is likely she would make brief commentary about the simplicity of natural waxes as opposed to jabbing iron where it doesn't belong. While not having expected the sudden noise eruption from the parchment, she made an effort to ignore it as she cast the parchment to the ground at the base of the tree. With a quick healing spell, she fixed the hole that the nail made before moving on, this time more frustratingly attentive as she anticipated finding more nails in trees. | |

| Hork seeing the thing on the ground would touch it while picking it up. "What the heck is this wriggley finger stuff?" Putting it on the sign post instead of the ground. Signing Hork. | |

| While wandering the crossroads, Isiolia wanders up to the parchment and curiously touches the seal. As the paper mask comes to life, she seems a bit startled at first and then amused as she realizes the notice is from Twitch. She carefully takes the quill and writes below the others.
Yes, this demon must be stopped. He has been draining the souls of others...and not to mention, ruining the joy of others. Count me in.
El'tael Isiolia Nightstar
Noticing the notice was on the ground, she tilts her head and tacks it back up with a resin instead of a nail, knowing full well that the nail in the tree would upset both druids and rangers. She then wanders away, deep in thought.

| At the tree where the notice was nailed a small floating box would now reside. The box would not be very large and could likely be carried in two hands with ease. It is rather simple, made of simple wood and has no special markings on it. The latch seems new and well polished. -TOUCH- - Spellcraft of 20:
The box is riddled with magic but all are harmless
- Open The Box:
A small cloud of energy would twist and form itself into a face that resembles a goblins head with a tophat. The face would look at those who opened the box and speak to them. It has come to the Great Carnivals attention that some think of us as ill-mannered demons here to only cause chaos. Since our arrival we have seen travelers be given tens of thousands of golden coins and many gems. Dreams have come true, sending travelers to the realm of shadows or having a balor roast those they command! It is not our fault that is what seem dream, we merely give them what they wish!
The magical head would nod about and look around. The rumor of us being demons and those of chaos are unfounded and truly terrible! We did not mean for our wonderful and enjoyable carnival show to take profit from another in the area and we apologize! But to found such rumors in anothers crowd that we wish for souls and to harm...
The goblins face would make a 'tsk tsk' and shake his head. There is alot of room and space for us both to reside! We do hope we can share the true fun of such a pure and noble profession with the other carnival and bring joy to all of the lands!
The Truest Carnival of This Land, The Great Carnival!

| Coming across one of these parchments, Maliks stops and chants a simple detection blessing. He nods to himself before reaching out to touch it with a black gauntleted finger. After listening, he runs his fingers through the beard in thought before shrugging and murmuring quietly to himself.
"The last display was amusing enough to watch, and rather informative at that... I'll have to keep my eyes open."
The Banite priest looks over the paper one last time before he continues on his path, never signing it.

| A bear smells the box and retreats slightly at the goblin image, the animal looks surprised and exhales a bit irritated, apparently shacking his head. The shapeshift druid than decides to leave, but not before let fall a big amount of what was his last meal, very close to the tree right bellow the box. | |
