The Amazing Angiers visits Shadowdale (Ongoing Quest)

As adventurers discuss and trade stories between them at the ranger camp, they notice some oddities as some sparks fly off in the vicinity. After a small magic show, the mage Angiers makes his appearance to the group. After some negotiations and discussion, he hires the present group to retrieve some important information for him. He mentions that there is an unstable portal in a nearby jungle, and the adventurers head off to explore this.

When they arrive to the portal, Seadin discovers that he is able to activate it with the gem from Angiers. He does so, and the group steps through, finding themselves in an underground cavern. As they explore around for a short while, they come across a group of gnomes mining the local ore. During their talk with the gnomes, a number of large earth elementals ambush the location and stir up a commotion as the group is forced to defend itself from the strong elementals. They emerge victorious from the battle and then attempt to lure the gnomes away from their slave work. Unwilling to listen to the stranges, the gnomes refuse and the group is forced to return upon finding out that the portal is becoming unstable again.

All of them manage to make it safely, just barely (Sayiel nearly not making the portal at the end, but she makes it through just). They return the information to Angiers who rewards them for their successful job.
