| A message is sent to all involved parties in the upcoming Mage Guild. And, gods forbid, some might even make their way into the hands of other mages, who hasn't yet been a part of any of the meetings. - Quote :
Honoured colleagues,
It is no secret that our late meetings has had a low attendance and as a direct consequence, a difficulty in the vote for the council. Therefore, I suggest that we make our cases by letter, giving each participant time to think and reflect, with no influence from any suggestive social presence the character in question might have.
I encourage all nominees for Council to write a letter of recommendation for themselves and to make it public, that all may consider their own vote. When a reasonable amount of time has passed, we shall collect the votes and the roles may be chosen and we can finally put this chapter behind us and begin our mission, the study and practice of the Arcane. At this point in our history, I consider all mages with a true desire to join the Circulae Arcana equal, and as such to be allowed a vote is simply to make yourself known to myself and the others.
Yours in Magic,
Administrator Graythorne

| A bat delivers a scroll to each of the members of the Circulae Arcana. - Quote :
Fellow Mages,
I write to you all to put myself forward as the Council Representative of the Circle of Creation. I hold each of my fellow Shapers, indeed each of my fellow mages in truth, with the utmost of respect and through my position will do all in my considerable power to assist them with both their studies into the nature of magical essence and the techniques used for enchanting.
As a master alchemist and enchantress I have proven my skills in creating essence as compacted as glowing and many many enchanted items that the residents of Shadowdale, including the Zhentarim can attest to. I have skill with scroll, wand, weapons, armour, and any other items of clothing or jewelry. I have crafted items up to and including the third tier and elemental damages.
As the merchants of Shadowdale can attest, rarely a day goes by that I am not checking with them for recipes and components, or passing by them to gain to access to the laboratory where I conduct my experiments into the nature of magical essence.
I regularly sponsor small adventuring parties to travel into the wilds of the Dales and return to me with items of interest to my research. I will be quite willing to share these components with my fellow Shapers for a modest fee.
More importantly than anything mentioned above is this. I am willing to share my knowledge with my fellow Shapers in order to better serve the guild and maximise our profits from enchanting. That includes recipes and assistance with the creation of essence where required.
A vote for me, is a vote for your own prosperity and a step towards the furthering of your own mastery in our field.
Your in the Arcane,
The Archmage Shahnaz Circle of Creation Circulae Arcana

| Sitting upon a rock along the hills of Fox Ridge was a figure robed in black and flat purple, a flick of shadow would in rare cases slide from within his lining of the sleeves. On his shoulder perched a raven that seemed to glance about the surrounding area, looking for any threats. The night was new, no moon was to be seen in the sky yet the day next would change such.
In the mans left hand was the top part of a bird skulls, by no means small for it was roughly the size that could be worn as a mask. In his right was a dagger, one of which held no sheen to it. Drawing the blade along the flesh that still hung to the rotting skull causing a horrid sound of butchery to echo through the night. The raven making a soft sound to alert its master that something drew near. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- A lone wizard was slowly making his way up the hills, paper in hand and traversing at a hurried pace. Pausing often to listen, yet all that came to his ears was that dreadful sound, he made himself believe it was the gnolls devouring bones but something in him sail otherwise. He had recently received this notice and was in post haste to deliver his note himself. As such he was in need of a place to study and share among ones whom shared the same thoughts and interests.
Shifting along a bend in the dirt path, the sound of what he still believed was the gnolls drew louder. Making him slow his pace to a mere walk, his eyes wide open with blackened fear soaking them, searching for a source. Such fear was a spell that had hit him only seconds before, breaking through his will.
Whispers of doom entered his mind causing his wracked hand to tear into his burning scalp, visages of his body being torn into the tiniest pieces. Yet after a moment or so of the endless pain it stopped, replaced by a new one, a matte black blade has entered through the back of his neck, stopping his air and speech as blood soaked down into his robe and his own body. Yet all was ended soon by a burning feel that dissolved bone and organ, leaving only a hole that was slightly to the right of his chest. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- What was left on the hill was the dead man, searched for anything of value. Oddly though his gold, weapons and all normal highwayman antics were left alone. Only his spell book and papers seemed to be missing.
((Will add a response in time, figured I'd give a story how he got it))

| A note is left with the barkeep at the old skull inn - Quote :
- I would like it to be known that I have withdrawn my bid for Councillor and begun focusing on research into the transmutation of Pyrite into Gold. As such I also seek to switch circles or perhaps bounce between them as my research requires me to create experimental devices.

Circulae Arcana Initiation -to whom it might concern
I seek Admission to your Guild the Circulae Arcana.
Firstly, I should introduce myself. My name is Calkin and I'm an Illusionist wizard and Scholar of Candlekeep. My specialities are theoretical thermodynamics. I seek to learn about the weave and how to manipulate it into magic wonders. Hence, the scholars would be the circle for me.
I hope you will consider me worthy to join your guild. Calkin

A letter is returned to Calkin, - Quote :
Dearest Calkin,
Due to my untimely departure, I fear I never had the full opportunity to hold the reigns on the project. Let me just say for now, however, that I am in close contact with a select few other individuals to reset what is left of our creation and perhaps make another, more focused attempt at gathering those gifted in the Arcane.
At this time, I cannot say much more, for to be honest, there is not much more to say. I simply wished to let you know that there is still opportunities. Your speciality in thermodynamics sound very interesting. Perhaps you have done research within the field? Many does not realize the importance of the fundamental sciences, and thermodynamics is often dismissed as irrelevant and tedious by many ambitious mages, who never realize that the brunt of all evocative incantations reside upon a thorough knowledge of thermodynamics.
Yours in magic,
Sophia
