Some passers by might notice a burnt part of the eastern forest by the road, which would indicate a fairly large and deadly battle involving magic.
The broken body of an elf with blonde hair remains, two swords by his side.
There is a trail of blood with charred bits of flesh leading into Shadowdale itself, to where a dark hooded woman deposited the unrecognisable remains of a hin by the communal well.

A plated man approaches the elf and after some consideration, pulls life back into his body. After a murmured conversation, including some gesticulation by both in the general direction of the meeting of the roads east of Shadowdale, the elf cloaks himself with wards and steps into the ethereal plane, fleeing by two of elven-stature standing at the crossroads.
