A note is posted upon the bulletin board within the inn near the Refugee Camp of Myth Drannor as well as the Royal Oak...

To whom it may concern,

Be on the look out for a traveling merchant of sorts selling wares near the outskirts of Shadowdale. Recently, a traveler was approached by this individual and coaxed into purchasing a golden statue. The buyer was then directed toward the Refugee Camp outside of Myth Drannor. Upon arrival, the trinket began to smoke before erupting into a full on fire. Efforts were made to dowse the flames, though not before a portal to what we believe was the Nine Hells had been opened releasing a slew of devils which descended upon the travelers and some of the Guard. The beasts were defeated with little damage to the surrounding area and without casualties. If any information is obtained regarding this shady individual, please contact me as soon as possible. When not out training, I can be found around the Refugee camp fire or within the Royal Oak Inn.
